The name, slackwrdave, comes from 2 things really. For 10 years Slackware was the flavor of Linux I used as the operating system for my computer. I felt like the latest release of it, #12, was a royal disaster, so after 10 years I no longer use Slackware, but the myopera name was already entrenched for me by then.

The other reason for my name is the somewhat vague notion of slack as put forth by the comical Church of the Subgenius. Their weekly radio program is quite funny.

So there is a little piece of my personal net history. It makes little sense really.

Oh, and BTW, my name is David (or Dave), so that's it!

Posting and commenting and hanging out with others that speak English is a great way to improve your English. I have an online dictionary to help me when I bump into words I don't know.
