MINIATURE - Building a Mini-Photo Studio

I have been looking online at different miniatures and the quality of the pictures taken. Some people have awesome shots and then there are many more like mine in the gallery.. blurry and hard to see any detail. Well I thought about building a miniature photo studio for these little models I have.
It would have a light below with a piece of plexi glass spray painted white to defuse the light coming up, two lights one on the right and one on the left. I would build a box sorta, with the top and front left off, and on each side I would add a groove slot to slide in different backdrops, the standard blue white, or other backdrops that would look good, and give the best detail for the model. I would also figure where the best placement for the camera is, and add a bolt though the bottom of the floor to attach to the camera to hold it in place while shooting. I may also try to put a small lazy Susan where the miniature will sit, with a dial off to one side, so I can turn the miniature once placed and get shots from all sides.. or if the camera I am using has movie mode, I can place the miniature and spin it slowly to give a 360 view with out my fingers being in the shot.
I will try to work up some plans and add them to this entry later.. as well as pictures of what I come up with.
If you have any ideas, or suggestions on this project.. please add a comment and let me know. Thanks!
