Have you ever painted an army of plastic miniatures, and after some time gotten better at painting and looked at them old mini's and go man they suck? Then you ask yourself how do I get paint off plastic Miniatures without harming the miniature it's self?
BRAKE FLUID!
Yep thats right Brake Fluid. You will need to soak your plastic miniatures in the fluid so a mason jar or some sorta glass container that you can put a top on and seal up as well as see though will be needed. Its simple put the brake fluid in the jar, add your miniatures and seal up.. let sit in the fluid for 30 minuets to an hour then check on them swish them around in the jar to help remove the paint for a couple seconds and then let sit another 30 min. to an hour. The fluid should be a nice dark mixture from the painting bleeding off your miniatures. Depending on the thickness of the paint, you may have to let some miniatures sit over night. Make sure to fish the miniatures out of the brake fluid with a tool of some kind, just for your safety, rinse the miniature under warm water scrubbing with a Soft paint brush. If there are still some areas with stubborn paint, either let sit for a little longer in the brake fluid or add some to the bush and continue to scrub.. or use a tooth pick to chip that paint off. Make sure to rinse the miniature again, and let dry on a paper towel.
Brake Fluid can remove some glue as well.. just as a warning.. just re-glue back together.. and your miniature is ready to be re-painted!
Hope this has helped some of you miniature painters out there.. its not a new trick, but its a good one.
