Marie's Musings

A crazy old woman ranting about nothing

Happy Mothers Day

To add my greetings to all the caring women on this day. I have a lovely pink carnation from church but can't post a picture. For some reason every picture I have tried to post lately turns into one I took last year of Pumpkin after he was shaved and that is not my favourite moment.:irked: I have no idea what I am doing wrong but obviously photography in any form is not one of my talents.

Spring has arrived in Nova Scotia and our crocus, daffodil and tulip displays are lovely. We've had some warm days, 18 C the warmest so far, and the trees are sprouting buds. Unfortunately today is wet and windy as was yesterday. But we are used to that.

Sadly, New Brunswick suffered bad flooding this year. They had soooo much snow and too much rain following. A lot of property damage but, thankfully, no lives lost.

Hi Marie, I have had some problems recently with uploading pictures. If the file name is the same as a picture that you uploaded previously, you will get the old picture. Opera used to compensate for this by adding a "1" to the name but it doesn't do it any more. I'd rename your carnation picture to something you know that you have never used before, and hopefully it should work.

That is a nice gift, anyway! Mothers Day is much earlier in the year in the UK, perhaps because our spring comes earlier!

Adele, I'm not sure what you mean by 'name'. The 'tag' I put on my picture when I import it into the computer gallery is completely different as is the date that is on it so the difference in what I copy and then paste is the date - I think. This is what I paste in to upload:

I suspect it is the 002.jpg bit which is causing the problem, although I could be completely wrong. The date part would appear to be the folder, and Opera wouldn't note that. If you right click on the picture in Windows Explorer, and then rename it (don't change the .jpg part) then it might work.

Doesn't seem to be working, Adele. I'll keep trying. Thanks anyway.

In that case I'd raise it as a bug with the Opera team. Something isn't right.
