Student egos getting worse and worse

, ,

Sometimes I wonder about the youth of today... Even those that are just a year younger than you, change for the worse. I find it funny and sad at the same time, as people are so dependent on technology (I am guilty of it as I am in IT, no technology, no pay), but people are very selective on what technology they use, and the worst is cell phones (BlackBerry being popular now in South Africa), people look like a bunch of stereotypical american slobs, rotting infront of a TV. In SA, they chat via BBM (BlackBerry Mobile) and go out partying... so obesity is luckily not (yet) at large (excuse the pun). The people who is stricken the worst, are people who are more fortunate than others. For example, a person who got a job through their parents, then after a couple of years, quit to have a student life and "work on a degree", all on the parents expense. Hell I wish I could do that... I study at home, on my own to increase my knowledge/pay. I pay for my own exams, living expenses, personal expenses and I struggle... but life is a big struggle... If one gets thrown into that situation, some sink, some swim... I am still teaching myself to swim, and I am progressing.

This will be a short one, just needed to point something out to people wondering, why they become what they are. Students think they are the future... but following other people, that are not doing anything productive, is not changing the future, it is maintaining it...

To safely assume, or to assume in safety

Sometimes I wonder what is going through people's minds when it comes to assumption... I am a victim of it myself, but I am slowly learning to assume, only when I have enough evidence to do so. Hence I prefer to "safely assume" something. And if I assumed wrong, I admit it and apologize (which the majority of the populace lacks the capability of apologizing or even admitting, unfortunately)

Why I am talking about a subject like this, is because of people who always think you mean ill, when you are just jesting, and vice versa... I am tired of people who always take things the wrong way. You joke about a grammar/spelling mistake (which one knows its on purpose, especially when it comes to South African humour), then you get nailed because of it... even if you joked about it in the most sincere way possible. Is a "lol" and a smiley not enough to show that one is joking?!? Or are people numbed/dumbed down, so that you have to tell them what you really mean... that takes the punch out of the line. If one is forced to explain, what you said or meant... one is either a troll, or just plain idiotic...

What I love is, when people assume things where they are wrong... by a long shot. When they either threaten you not to do things, or try to blackmail you in another way to prevent you from doing something. It is hilarious, when they "assume", they have prevented you from doing something... where in fact, they haven't.

Or when they assume that you are an underachiever... Where in fact, you know you earn double their salary, by looking at your payslip and knowing what job they have. Through hard work that is...

Or when they assume that you won't survive in the world... where in fact you live on your own, and the person assuming, is living with his/her parents, or getting married, or living with a boyfriend/girlfriend... for those who don't understand... or "don't get it"... to support yourself and not rely on others.

Assume you are arrogant and try to dictate their lives... where in fact you are giving them advice, where no-one would, and you are expressing yourself, through their stupidity (if one is giving advice, it usually means someone is doing something wrong/stupid)... or they would, but usually it is something extremely stupid, or counter-productive. Basically helping someone into a proverbial ditch, instead of out of it. Advice is never free, once it is free it is either to help you, or hurt you... but its easy to figure that out on your own, unless you are one of those who think your own ideas (and in worse cases, lies) are better.

I am going to cut this rant off now...

Until I rant again...

Sadness through acts of desparation

I had a sad couple of months.

Its funny how a person can just change their mind in a split second, without thinking about the other person, or think twice before acting. It can ruin the person and either make or break a person. I unfortunately broke and became something of a nightmare, if I had to compare myself to how I were in the past. I always thought of revenge, but kept it in the back of my head, as a reminder. It is always better to remember the past, otherwise one is doomed to repeat it. But if one is faced with such an act of violation, that it drives you to do something irrevocably evil/bad, then one was wounded and scarred so badly that healing will be near impossible. Now where I kept my vengeful self, to myself... now I would rather bring down the fist of wrath. I got tired of being abused, now its my turn for a bit of revenge. Even though it saddens me to do so.

The reason for the sadness is I still hope for it to turn out better. I forgive easily, even for the worst acts of desperatism/anger/revenge/foolishness/etc. Maybe that is my weakness? I don't know...

Well... my plan is set in motion for my revenge. But revenge is always met with retaliation... which will be a futile attempt. If a plan is made way before hand, then a simple act of retaliation is pointless and a possible trap, in itself. Like Napoleon Bonaparte once said: "Never interrupt your enemy, while they are making a mistake".

It is sad actually when one has to expect the unexpected. I always wanted to be contempt with everything. But once certain signs start popping up, certain precautions need to be made. And hope that it doesn't end up that way. But hope is also another mental defect I've got. People have the preconception that, hope entails doing something and "hope" that it turns out well. Hope can be linked to blind faith. Here is an example of hope, for those who disagree:
If you hope someone would change for the better, but you know talking is absolutely pointless, then one can only hope the person realizes it, before it becomes worse.
That is having faith/hope that the person changes for the better... or for lack of a better term... taking a leap of faith.

Who would've thought that, that leap of faith, would turn out to be your leap of fate.

I wonder sometimes, how cruel must one be, to change someone to act out of desperatism and adore it in such a fashion that it sounds/looks sicknening... and later turn around and blame other people for their own inequities. One thing I have learned in life, and a quote I like to live by, "be true, to thine own self", people who like to live according to an image, or status, are all living a lie. Why live a lie, when one can live with the truth? The truth can hurt, but it does not hurt as much as someone unraveling a lie.

People always told me, "ignorance is bliss". I beg to differ. It is better knowing, than not knowing. If one knows more, than one can foresee pain and suffering and deal with it in a better way. For most people who believe in the bliss of being ignorant, they usually aren't capable of dealing with pain, or taking the proverbial punch. And it puts a smile on my face if a woman tells me, that she is allowed to, because she's a woman... you wanted equal rights... you got it. Life is not easy, one has to move forward, as time waits for nobody. Most people like taking 1 step forward and 2 steps backward when they encounter a life changing problem.

But "hope" is powerful force to be reckoned with... But all I can do is hope it will change, before it is too late. As some people always think they are doing well, while a someone looks at their life, from a 3rd person perspective. But warning them does not help... so hastening the process, in the form of a figurative push, works best. As age makes it worse...

But what can I say, I've been called mentally ill. And a medical doctor made a prognosis and diagnosis, and declared me mentally ill, without any MRI scan, CAT scans, whatsoever... I never knew a doctor is a psychologist/psychiatrist as well. Once again, ignorance is not bliss. When one is challenged by someone who thinks differently, one's self-defence is attacking someone, by attacking the person's character, and always use the words "crazy", "abnormal", "ill",etc... all I will ask is: "Define the word 'normal', for me"

But I digress for now...

Until I blog again.

Why are colleagues so demotivational?

I have been wondering that my whole life... why do people/colleagues always say such demotivational things... like if you are late, they don't give you advice, but instead they tell you that you are going to get fired. What has happened to humanity in today's day and age? Instead of helping someone up, they help keep you down, so that they can feel better, in some way. You screw up, they run to your boss and lay all kinds of claims to get you fired. Someone doesn't pitch for work for an invalid reason, you do it for a valid reason, they run to your boss and lay all kinds of claims to get you fired... but on top of that... before they do that, they "consult" you first. And by "consult", I mean demotivate you.

It is understandable if politicians lie to keep their agenda a secret (we are conditioned to think its normal)... but not regular people. For example, if you tell your best friend/colleague at work a secret, they will rat you out so fast, you wouldn't even know what is going on around you... no wonder you get those "old-employees-who-come-back-with-a-gun-and-start-shooting-people-at-work" kind of people. Some people keep their feelings to themselves, while the rest keep prying in all kinds of ways to get a reaction out of you (I am guilty of that, but more in the annoying sense), and one day they just can't keep up with their own feelings/emotions and they snap. Going into a berserk frenzy, some deal with it in all kinds of ways, like going to the gym, hitting a punching bag, drinking, and in some cases, suicide, homicide or even genocide (that's when Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Ghengis Khan, etc. comes to mind).

Hopefully the next couple of days will be better... one will have to see.

Everybody hates taxes

I have been pondering about the effective use of government taxes. Why is it a obligation to pay tax, if one doesn't know where it truly goes? I would love to go to them and demand a statement of what they are using my money for. I can safely assume, there are people who can agree with me on that.

Now the thing that bothers me most, is the types of taxation (Alcohol & tobacco, Food, fuel/petrol, the new carbon tax, etc.), why are we being taxed for things that is either a necessity, personal luxury, habit, even breathing (the carbon tax)? To control us? Almost the same as a parent controlling a infant/teenager into doing the right thing (or avoiding incidents), some will see my analogy as a bit condescending, but it is true. The majority of people are like children, even though they are intelligent.

Like for example, me. I am ranting about taxes (and the majority of the world), but nobody (including me, I am willing to admit) will do a thing to question the authority. People believe we should not question them, but in actual fact, we should. We are told to pay taxes to build a better world/country, and that the money is used to build a better infrastructure, better health care, better entertainment, produce, food, etc. Unfortunately I don't see any of the above mentioned, they will also mention, that the world/country has to pay off all their debts to be able to progress.

I have trouble grasping that statement, how does a country, owe another country money? Every country has its own currency, don't they? They produce their own monies, don't they? Now how did it end up owing another country huge sums of money? Picture a famous explorer, discovering a new country/continent and inhabiting it, mine the minerals, produce food, populate, etc. And all of the sudden the country he/she comes from, hands him/her a bill of what he/she owes them. Or is it the other way around? Did the explorer ask for money in a country (which the explorer discovered) needed money to build houses, farms, mines, etc. ? In a situation like that, it leads me to conclude, that money would be useless. Or does the explorer borrow money from other countries, once he country is up and running? Which also doesn't make sense to me... Why fix it when it ain't broken?

Well, enough ranting from me.

Enjoy the rest of the day/night
