While Opera's mail client is the safest and most secure program I know of, I wanted to remind new users that security begins with the user. Opera or its mail client will not execute or run attachments in email messages. However, if you elect to open and run an attachment you put yourself at high risk.
Some common sense and caution goes along way! Never open any attachments from senders you dont know. Even if Opera is the most secure browser out there. Your self education and Opera together will help prevent such disaster as the potential one mentioned here.
