I came across a great little freeware program. Colibri. This is a freeware application still under development, but already delivers top notch functionality. Colibri indexes all your start menu shortcuts, control panel applets, desktop items and registered executables.
When ever you want to find & launch a program, hit the hot key and type a few letters. Colibri does the rest. It will list matching "find as you type" results. Its small, fast and free!
