Yahoo! Widgets

Yahoo widgets? Well the web site is impressive anyway. I have not tried Yahoo's widgets as of yet, but plan to soon and write a review. But for those of you interested you can check it out here: Yahoo! Widgets

I wonder if these widgets can be made to work in Opera? If so, then this may be a great resource!

In general no. Unlike Opera's widgets, AOL's "modules", and Apple's dashboard widgets, these use their own special XML language to do things.

So they look like everyone else's widgets, but making a cross-platform one of them is much much harder. (For some specific cases it can be done - but nowhere near as easily as interoperating between the ones based on more common Web standards).

Yahoo Widgets is great, there are 3 great features on the basis of which I like to use it-

1. Live local weather conditions and forecasts

2. Severe weather alerts

3. Access to live weather cameras, international weather and more.
