TORTURE OF THE SANDMAN

Torture of the Sandman
that withholds the grains of sleep
and prods the mind to work overtime
relentlessly pursued I weep

processing the day and all its troubles
grey matter like a revolving door
filters and sifts the mind

tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic
sleep deprivation interorgates my soul
extending the morning hours
as I sink further and further into a hole

so who will amuse me
in the early morning tide
and give me sanctury from the sandman
who drains me as my husbands snores beside

You're right Maree.. very strange that we both wrote about sleep.. :D what's even stranger when you follow the subject matter and realise the similarities.. the weeping and revolving.. :ko: excellent poem! :up:

I got sleep last night I picked up some antihistimanes that make you drowsy for the night night - (I have skin irritants at the moment as I'm producing too many histamines) anyways with that and hubby using those nasal strips I had a better nights sleep.... thanks cois

Its 3:17 in the morning right now.. guess my little blue pills are useless..
I'm kinda used to not sleeping, its the times when my mind fries up I can't handle.. such is life..

I can understand that.....there are only so many things you can do at that hour - read your bible, watch a black and white, stare at the ceiling, pc and chat of course,

:D my mind is built that way I guess.. in college I used to pull all nighters studying.. when taking a break I took the time to write a poem for the woman I fancied.. now its automatic late night.. thing is I can't find the inspiration to write more than 3 or more lines..

sometimes 3 or more lines is all that is needed to clear out the cobwebs or clog depending I guess....I now have "poetry" books at the ready to write in when I see a book or journal I would like to write in I buy it...recently I bought about 14 of them just two designs....so I could carry around in my hand bag - one at a time of course that way my scribblings will all be in one place for easy refernce...

That's a excellent idea.. :D too bad guys don't carry around handbags where I come from.. p: I use my phone now.. unfortunately its slower than writing..

I don't think guys carry bags here either thats what the girlfriends are for..lol...a phone is a cool idea.... at least the ideas are kept.....
