"Destined Minds"

THE MINDS OF MEN-evolution

, , , , ,

THE MINDS OF MEN

The minds of men that
make monkeys of us all
Piltdown and Nebraska
that would have us bent over and small

so where be the origins of man
semantics that call out cry
the beginning of us all and
as if to soften with lullaby

so how can it be when no animal
be mans equal and our uniqueness
made in the image of God for
surely we have risen

from primordial sludge and
from the blindness of science
that would have us all chasing
piggy tails

For Nebraska was no more than a wild pig
which gave us nought more than a wild pig
chase through the doors of so called science
that clearly has gone off the rails

FOOTNOTE:
Only three ways to make an “apeman”

Knowing from Scripture that God didn’t create any apemen, there are only three ways for the evolutionist to create one.

1. Combine ape fossil bones with human fossilbones and declare the two to be one individual-a real “apeman.”
2. Emphasize certain humanlike qualities of fossilized ape bones, and with imagination upgrade apes to be more humanlike.
3. Emphasize certain apelike qualities of fossilized human bones, and with imagination downgrade humans to be more apelike.

These three approaches account for all of the attempts by evolutionists to fill the unbridgeable gap between apes and men with fossil apemen.

CRITICISM IN THE MIRROR I SEE

Well its certainly better than saying we came from dirt and Eve came from a rib.. who created MAN you ask.. GOD, YOU answer..
Who created GOD I ask..
MAN is my answer..

Maree Long 20. February 2008, 06:36

this is so interesting Cois, perhaps I have hit on "controversial poetry"

Questions?
Can man answer his own prayer outside of his own power?

So I wonder who it is that answers so many prayers? let me know Cois when you have found those missing links (said tongue in cheek for sure and not argumentative)

Cois 20. February 2008, 13:41

Lets just say.. with so many different religions and belief systems that all our judgement days will be interesting.. prayers aren't answered.. people see what they want to..
Allow me to search the oh so crucial missing link you so desperately need to see my viewpoint.. then I ask in return that the world become a peaceful place without war and famine..
I care not what people believe.. That's up to them and their gods..

Maree Long 20. February 2008, 22:59

lol - at least your humor is working Cois....

So when I testify to you that - I saw across a road once a man possessed of a demon coming up to a set of lights - and I recognised the demon...I then said to myself if he be demon possessed he is surely seeking me out.... + I would be safe if I quickly go back inside the shop and sit on the other side of the petition he would surely not find me if he wern't possessed..

sure enough the man made his way into the store and then came directly to me on the other side of the petition (much to the shock of everyone) including myself - thopugh not surprised the man then spouted things both true and profaned and then was shortly on his way...

This is a true story....that same man came into the hospital (quite some years later - in the middle of the night in emergency, and again paced up and down this time I was ready....the man quickly exited

hallucination? mind quackery on my part? over spiritualisation?

Or prayer so specific that no man can maneourver an answer....Many years ago my husband and I asked God for a child to ask a specific question - that very weekend a matter of days that child asked that very question in the very manner we asked (so there was no mistake it was from God) we did not want a round a about question asked, which is the usual for such kids - but specific - and because that child asked a specific as per our request we were ready and able to give the answer and enter dialogue as we desired

Or the intuition that God gives - I was directed instead of waiting for husband in a bank went into a store I would never dream of going into....and there I bumped into (the missing link)lol - so to speak - a man we had been wanting to make contact with to fill in some missing details - now my husband who had finished his banking went to another store thinking I would be in there (also unusual in that I would never go to that store either - so what was going through hubbys mind I had no idea - and who does he bump into while looking for me - but the other missing link) we then invited both men home to chat and were able to resovle some unrest created by some people and put end to "gossip and strife" this had been a week long prayer of concern...

co-incidence? mindless twaddle of expectation or answered prayer that we conjured up ourselves?

A man laid hands on and completely heald of cancer - not in remission but test results later that week showed the man was cleared...I was one of them that laid hands on this man many years ago...so I was first hand witness to Gods healing...- co-incidence? or answered prayer?

Cois 21. February 2008, 20:53

Now ask me if I've seen or experienced any of that?

I was highly religious.. WAS.. I guess I was tested when I got stabbed first 15 then 9 times at different dates..
Guess my car crash and motorcycle accident was a test too huh.. maybe I was just looking for it..
Maybe my dad died to test my faith too..
Maybe my mum became a paraplegic so as to check if I still had enough faith to carry me over..
Hmmmm... so my faith should still be intact after that?
Bad things happen to all people.. should it be seen as a test of faith or abnormally bad luck or bad choices?
You can keep your God.. He doesn't seem interested in me coz there's just nothing there TO care..

Maree Long 21. February 2008, 21:41

ok have you? and whether you have or not should that make a difference to faith?

I have never used the "test" of faith premise that seems to be something you have got caught up with...

I lost six children and the last girl I held her tiny form in my hand
rejected by my mother
have been stalked, threatened and harrassed by same fixated family who I might add(still being harrassed)
trashed my house to the tune of 20 k + 6 k incidentals + bleieve it or not won a case to be compensated claiming I locked them out when they clearly abandoned the property which I have proof?
fractured both ankles and had been misdiagnosed on another occassion causing me to have a hysterctomy
freind murdered and stabbed 11 times,
had to hold the hand of dead body that was murdered in support of someone else at the funeral
had car surounded by 15 youth once
assaulted in car park by middle easterner causing me to have hiv blood tests
my inlasws both dying of cancer
neighbor wasting away from cancer and died
friend lost child in car accident
friend lost child falling off balcony
grandmother committed suicide
next step grandmaother died
next step mother rejected us
friends mother murdered
recently had car rammed trapping me inside (just in the last two weeks) and last weekend
son severed artery and nerves and had surgery just on Sunday

actually I wont go down the rest of memory lane of people around me who have died too painful

for me yes...I am grateful God has sustained me, I am grateful for all the mercies and blessing sent my way during these times, I'm grateful to God I was not dragged out to see (ask me about getting caught in a rip once)

remember I have not asked whether you should accept or reject God have I?

Its true I do believe and scripture says - life falls on the righteous and the unrighteous...so both good and bad can fall on both...

there is nothing that can befall a man that God cannot equip to sustain...that I do believe..

and yet Cois you have lived through all that? I would say very much that there is very much something there to care about for God to be concerned with you...most very definley of that I am assured even if you8 are not

Cois 22. February 2008, 09:11

I've lived through it but those next to me didn't.. many friends are gone and their faith was much stronger than mine..
Does that make me special or just how the dice fell?
Test was probably not the right word..
I'm done with this.. its no use arguing over something that is trivial in accordance to me..
One day some god may judge me and it might not be yours.. there's a adventure all on its own..

Maree Long 22. February 2008, 12:50

lived through it enough to to thell the tale? remember and lived thorugh it enought to have choices those you loved didn't...or in this case don't - you do have a choice..- if you will before you close this subject...had you ever made a personal relationship with Christ? ie accepted him as lord and saviour?

to me special would be elected? and dice fell? well that would mean just lucky or unlucky just mere chance... do you think we were really arguing? or just discussing?

Cois 22. February 2008, 13:21

I guess my word choice was a bit off..
I had religion and it deserted me.. also at the same time I questioned everything..
This led me to the viewpoint I have now.. there is no god..
Life is what you make it.. not guided by some invisible force that rules our destinies..

ellinidata 22. February 2008, 19:20

Been tested in life it is not new to any of us.
At times it is by choice and we do/or not , learn out of it,
other times we are tested for unknown reasons....
In all cases it is up to us to learn and get a stronger sense of who we are and how far we can go after the bad experience.
As they say "what doesn't kill you it makes you stronger".
I wish you both , coming out your experiences ( aside of faith),you do feel stronger in a positive way!
Many people turn to faith for support others walk away from faith because out of anger.
What ever you do always remember there it is a rainbow at the end of the storm. Make goodness your rainbow.
Peace.

Maree Long 23. February 2008, 01:45

Cois can I ask why you think it deserted you? what was your expection of God? or church etc?

Cois 23. February 2008, 09:07

I didn't expect anything.. but I didn't think it'll get that bad.. is this a test of faith? or just bad luck? I choose the luck theory.. there is no god..

Maree Long 23. February 2008, 10:45

you didn't think what got that bad...do you mean the heartache of loosing family as you previously described or is there more to it? and I don't beleive for a moment you are luck in this world...

catch ya later I need to eat something I just did 4 hours of basketball and have exhausted myself

Cois 23. February 2008, 13:54

I meant things getting that bad in my life..
4 hours? isn't that a bit excessive? says the guy who don't do sports..

ellinidata 23. February 2008, 17:35

Hi Maree,
now I do know how you keep so fit!
who won?? ( I know you are just the referee  ), I just started the 4th book of the Beverly Lewis and I wished you were closer to borough them! Worth reading!

hi Cois,
I am not athletic either (for many reasons) but I do enjoy my daily Yoga and Pilates. You don;t have to be an athlete.
I just came back from my Tai Chi class (only on Saturdays). Keeping fit it is a great and smart way to live longer!

Cois 23. February 2008, 17:51

hi Is fishing a way to stay fit? I'm real lazy I think.. :sst: my mum can confirm this..

ellinidata 23. February 2008, 18:02

while fishing you can relax, think and exercise your brain.... do you release the fish back afterwards??? I never been fishing.I am always on the move! :D

p.s. moms say many things but deep inside their kids are always the best! Trust me I know it first hand!

p.s.2 do you fish in the Ocean or river??

Cois 23. February 2008, 18:21

I catch for food.. fish is one dish that's irresistible to me..
The local river is my fishing spot but when possible then the ocean..
Its also a great way to clear your head.. some days I just go fishing for that..

ellinidata 23. February 2008, 18:24

do you claim that your fish you caught it is bigger that it is?? In other words are you a classic fisherman??:D

If you don't mind me asking , where is this river??
I am in New York and in the Hudson you only can fish garbage! :frown:

Cois 23. February 2008, 18:32

Who am I gonna lie to? with the technological age upon us and mobile phones have cameras the classic fisherman is a extinct species:lol: The river is in Prieska, South Africa.. Its called the Orange river.. :sst: doesn't look orange..

ellinidata 23. February 2008, 19:17

Interesting!
I was in Zimbabwe for Safari and I did enjoy the nature in all it's glory! Victoria falls it is a breath taking place to be!
I am definitely searching Prieska South Africa today!
I am doing also a couple of posts on Medicine.I am finding and posting about the Medical achievements in you home .Something that it is amazing and fascinating at the same time!
Before I start my research I was reading this that a friend sent me! You might enjoy it too!
Thanks for sharing all the above information with me! As for technology speaking the next time you have a picture of the fish PLEASE post it ! I would love to see it!
Here comes the piece that I will read from a friend!(will it is the word of the day!) Have a nice one!

Shakespeare Sonnet-a-Day

Sonnet #135

CXXXV.

Whoever hath her wish, thou hast thy 'Will,'
And 'Will' to boot, and 'Will' in overplus;
More than enough am I that vex thee still,
To thy sweet will making addition thus.
Wilt thou, whose will is large and spacious,
Not once vouchsafe to hide my will in thine?
Shall will in others seem right gracious,
And in my will no fair acceptance shine?
The sea all water, yet receives rain still
And in abundance addeth to his store;
So thou, being rich in 'Will,' add to thy 'Will'
One will of mine, to make thy large 'Will' more.
Let no unkind, no fair beseechers kill;
Think all but one, and me in that one 'Will.'

Maree Long 23. February 2008, 19:48

excessive by about 2 hours or 2 games....most definitley but we were short of referees (not that that should be a concern to me, and the money is good - which is not enough motivation to run ones legs out as I say not much point in getting good money just to pay out on physio later) but for me building up my staminat at 47 is a good thing - so I firgure they are paying me to exercise...in the past have don twice as long games not that was excessive...but I'm not as young as I used to be.

Everyone has bad things in life and for some what seems very unfair and tragic to have in life....as I said no one is exempt from life - for me with God I am better able to equip to deal with such in life when it happens - it doesnt mean I don't get angry or resentful or hurt or overwhelmed but equipped to see it for what it is, equipped to learn from it, equipped to be stronger and get through such things in life...

I think Macbeth is playing tonight ED - I don't know a lot of shakespeare but apparentley the idea of this troupe is to make peole aware of the writer and his works...

ED
who won? why me of course the referee always wins - last night had to unfortunately send a player off for being belligerant and threatening and dsiurpting the game I had warned him and warned him to no avail thne I had to insiste the poor pastr have him ejected from the game that I would not start the game unless he was clearly out of view of the stadium....and then his team got up and won...(the player is a good man just gets steamed up on the court - a persecutive complex of sorts) thinks every whistle is against him...lol

but last nights games were particularly good - fast and competitive...so after doing three games on my own I swapped courts and got a little faster game as then I got to work with another ref...also a more physical game...

well after receiving 3 harrassment calls which are recorded with the company - it seems we may have just got them - cause its unlikely to get three consecutive calls from different people...so hopefully and finally we got them...

take care

ellinidata 23. February 2008, 19:56

take care your sexy legs too Maree!

I know you won at the end! To get paid while you burn calories it is always a great deal!

I hope the calls stop. Nobody needs the extra aggravation ....
As you can see above our friend Cois ,he might invite us for a fish feast in South Africa! Are you in??

Cois 23. February 2008, 22:33

:D fish and chips! :chef: I'll certainly be posting pics p: Unfortunately the weather is not permitting me to go to the river yet.. maybe next weekend..
There's a few pics of the river in my Mishka pics album.. the last few anyway.. p: as can be seen the river is a muddy brownish colour while other areas are quite clear (not in album)..
Love the sonnet.. Shakespeare is one of my favorites..
Good on you to stay so active Maree.. you're more active than me!

ellinidata 24. February 2008, 01:43

oh I can see the bottom of it brown but where the sun reflects on the water , it is blue! I guess it is minerals on the ground!
nice pictures!

ellinidata 24. February 2008, 01:45

glad you like Shakespeare..Both my kids study it at school and I have a chance to refresh my memory on it too! I will put pieces of it in your comments from time to time!

Cois 24. February 2008, 09:27

When I was at school I desperately wanted to study it but my teacher told me that the level of english was too weak.. he said the kids couldn't even distinguish between is and are so what would Shakespeare do to them?
So I got myself some study aids for english poetry at the library and studied it on my own..
The library was very limited and couldn't get the books I needed.. but to this day every little bit picked up interests me..

ellinidata 24. February 2008, 11:50

I hope you do realize that her choice was not only wrong but unprofessional.Education is an inspiration. Never stop believe in it!
Three years ago I did go back to college and I got my third Bachelor's degree. The reason? Instead of keeping myself busy with shopping, gossip or worthless activities I wanted to do something more.I did find out about myself something this time around! I don't learn as fast as I used to :frown:
One more reason to do more now before I grow old...
Keep up the great job! It keeps you out of trouble,it keeps you happy and now it is your choice not a teacher's
***************
Thank you Maree for your hospitality

Maree Long 25. February 2008, 01:28

good for you Cois.....I wish I had done the same with my art only it was my mother who did not wish to make an effort for me to succeed in that area...

fish lightly pan fried with chips and eggs and rock salt - most defintley....lol..actually now I'm making myself hungry...lol

guys the shakespear by the sea was brilliant it was MACBETH and next week is RICHARD III

ellinidata 25. February 2008, 01:58

I envy you!
I wish I was there!
I guess I have to be happy with the book for now!
I did go and watch "The Other Boleyn Girl" yesterday.
I did read the book two months ago(if you recall I mentioned it to you then), and I was happy to watch the movie. Not even close to the book, still good. I have a feeling it is going to be nominated for the best costumes...Good stuff.
Are you going to Richard the III ??

Maree Long 25. February 2008, 06:47

Is that a movie? boleyn? you probably did but memory is not as good when under stress..lol

yeah I think I am I really want another day out like that....

Cois 25. February 2008, 09:58

I've never been to a theatre.. never saw any plays except a few video and dvd rentals..

ellinidata 25. February 2008, 13:33

yes, it is a movie.
I was privileged to watch a private screening on Saturday. The move hits theaters at the end of the month and if you have a chance it is worth watching.
the title it is "The Other Boleyn Girl"
--------
Cois,
I never been to a bar. At times my friends tease me about it,they say that I have to have the experience one of these days!
I am sure you will have the seeing a play one of these days too! Then we can exchange our opinions ! :D
---------
when I was a child I was giving shadow plays in our back yard and I was charging all the neighbor kids not money but candy! How I still have good teeth it is a miracle! :D
Now days I am lucky to have a friend who is a Broadway writer/critic and she does treat me to many plays and private screenings. She likes my opinion(so, she says).I believe she does it because she is a great person!
-----------
So, the best way to start it is: Open your local newspaper. See for small plays that you can attend .That can be in schools, senior citizen centers or public libraries. It is a start and at time you discover hidden talents that one day you will hear about and you will say"I say him/her before she/e was famous!".
*******************************************************

Maree,
don't be stressed. It is not good for a million reasons. Take a walk to the river and remember how generous life has been to you

Maree Long 25. February 2008, 19:24

So true ED...stress is a wasted emotion....so today goign to movies and lunch with a friend....its her day off

Hope you get to see a play or such one day Cois for e I think its a an expereince - so far the best plays I am enjoying are those held outdoors the ambience is so much better though I have throroughly enjoyed Allegria in a tent when it came to Sydney......I was entralled

ellinidata 25. February 2008, 19:28

another "star whisperer" ......

Have a great time!
my next meeting is in 5 minutes! :frown:

Maree Long 25. February 2008, 19:31

star whisperer?

well have a good meeting and I'm off to bed for an hour or two...have a great day

ellinidata 25. February 2008, 19:34

thks  sleep well.!

Cois 25. February 2008, 22:00

I'll teach you girls about bars and you can teach me about plays.. where I come from such things don't exist.. sure the normal plays and whatnot but its never professionally done.. next time I get to my hometown I'll certainly make an effort..
Its a shame that todays kids would prefer a action packed movie filled to brim with special effects. Hey.. I'm one of those people but once in a while something that makes you think is much better.

ellinidata 25. February 2008, 22:05

hi Cois!
I understand what you mean.
Again making the right choice it is always up to you!
as for bars, well I am getting easily too bored ...
Fishing will be better!

Maree Long 25. February 2008, 22:22

hey I never said I hadn't been to a bar....I spent a bit of youth at pubs - and playing pool...lol and would have still been going had there not been such an objection to the smoking but now there is no smoking who knows might go back...lol

a nearly 50 woman walks into a bar....lol

I have to agree cois kids I think want to much....with this play I saw apart from blood and costumes and a few props and dimmed lighting etc no special effects and yet you felt you were were they said...on battlefields in homes etc...

ellinidata 25. February 2008, 22:26

a pool player ...... well btwn the two of you I guess I will learn what I need to call my self "cool"..
man marrying at 21 does this to you!

Maree Long 26. February 2008, 04:52

I'm not sure Cois has seen my kind of pool playing...lol

Cois 26. February 2008, 22:06

 you're either real good or had a bad teacher p:

Maree Long 26. February 2008, 23:55

lol - I used to be good - but now my hubby is so much better than I....
