BENEATH THE ACACIA PLUM

BENEATH THE ACACIA PLUM

The air dark and still
beyond the grasp of dusk
lies the mysteries of the evening
of imagination running wild

Children with their sparklers
shining in the night
looking for the fairies
the wonders within a child

Amidst the gardens foilage
hidden under gardens leaves
is the home of the fairy
wherein lies the mythical

glimpses of fairy dust
reaching out to the innocent
revealing fairy secrets
and the love of the whimsical

Maree Long
(c) Maree Long 2008

Dedicated to my niecies and nephews
who spent a lovely evening with me toasting marshmellows
under a dark sky and acacia plum lit with fairy lights
as they searched for the fairy of my childhood in hope
of an encounter. And surely enough one was sprinkled with fairy
dust on his hand so much so his hand started to fall asleep...

THREE WORDS - try your hand at being my muse....Jake
