"Destined Minds"

a person may be young
and look athletic and fit
but underneath the clothing
writhing in pain and feeling the pits
has suffered two fractured ankles
after a myriad of falls

but not yet 50
and pushing a trolley
dressed very well and even
a spring in her step but
no one will notice the tumors
or the bowels when nature calls

but as you know we
are all predisposed to judge
and look and even frown and
glance in their direction and
be so dissapproving of some woman
escaping her own four walls

so I apoligise profusely
that I'm not old and grey
nor hobbled and wheelchair bound
that there is no sign on my forehead
that says I am disabled so forgive me
for yelling back at you and finally having the balls
