MY DEAR FRIEND

you have been there from beginning to end
and that is why I call you "my dear friend"

when life overwhelms and makes me feel small
you have helped me to stand up tall

lighter my burdens you made for me
with a listening ear that helps make me free

I'm blessed for the part in my life you play
tender and kind so special in every way

I thank the Lord for your generous heart
and the knowledge and wisdom you share and impart

so when away the Lord you, He may send
