Dance of Autumn Leaves

, , , ...

Dance of Autumn Leaves

Carefully crafted the third season
of deciduous trees and leaves
gently swaying and basking in
sunlight amidst a back drop blue sky

the autumnal equinox staves off the winter solstice
taking joy in all the colorful hues
of browns and golds, deep reds and ambers
as it waves goodbye to Summers bliss

and now awaits the first leaf - must fall
and to the world - Autumn, Autumn, Autumn it must call

feel the breeze whip around the bark
Autumn winds crisp and stark

and so the leaves dance and play
to the winds song that has travelled afar
beyond the north as we know it
to revel in this beautious season

though at first glance one sees the season
as one dying as it lays and dry upon the ground
and we see not, we feel not the life that might be emerging
only seeing the browns and golds, deep reds and ambers

and now awaits the first leaf - must fall
and to the world - Autumn, Autumn, Autumn it must call

feel the breeze whip around the bark
Autumn winds crisp and stark

strange it seems, this change of season
that bursts into colors beyond our senses
silhouettes and shades that cast it's shadows
sprinkled beween stark limbs soon to be naked

unremembered sleep of Autumn wrestling with
the nearing of winters cry - yet but a snap
of time that passes this way all to quickly
artfully and splendidly crafted color

and now awaits the first leaf - must fall
and to the world - Autumn, Autumn, Autumn it must call

feel the breeze whip around the bark
Autumn winds crisp and stark

and so this dance of Autumn soon must end all but too quickly
as autumn's quilt lies silent on the ground beneath
the great trees, the teller of time
and bid the north winds song of frolic goodbye.....

Twighlihgt comes in mornings hour

, , , ...

TWIGHLIGHT...

Twighlight comes in mornings hour
and meets again in the eve
when time has passed and dif-fus -ed light
reflected below the suns horizon

as evening light falls accross the lake
and dusk ushers the twighlight glow
as sillohettes form on the fields
tall beings with many limbs and fingers

bow at the close of day and greet the
mist that settles in between the intervals
of space and tim,e so faint the light
that begs the onset of mystery

perceiv-ed illumination shaded and obscure
at days end and yet I see with clear mind
and clarity the truth that is blinded by the
bewitching hour of the shadows that often

lay in wait and lurk and want for the cracks
in youth's mind to bend and weild and shape
for the misdeeds that twighlights hour did
not give rise nor permission

For twighlight offered many truths of
what the stars decree - so who can live
with one foot in darkness and one in light?
and poor the spirits that enjoy the mocking

and see not the darkness' entrapment but
wise the owl that sees acutely and lives to
tell the tale of twighlight and forewarns
the other creatures who enter into

twightlights grandeur of rooms that walk
beneath the green gums and stay on the well
trodden path of what hovers between the
day and night

Can sunshine fade from a loving heart?
can dusk fall and grapple with the mind?
Can evenings fall darken the night sky?
Can man triumph in the twighlight?

Torture of the Sandman

, , , ...

TORTURE OF THE SANDMAN

Torture of the Sandman
that withholds the grains of sleep
and prods the mind to work overtime
relentlessly pursued I weep

processing the day and all its troubles
grey matter like a revolving door
filters and sifts the mind

tic tic tic tic tic tic tic tic
sleep deprivation interorgates my soul
extending the morning hours
as I sink further and further into a hole

so who will amuse me
in the early morning tide
and give me sanctury from the sandman
who drains me as my husbands snores beside

NEEDLE PINES

, , , ...

NEEDLE PINES

Tall green pines slanted
to the years of winds
seasoned ocean breeze

and there falls the
needles of pine that
fall and weep with ease

the needles they gather
upon the soft grassy
slop-ed grounds

until they too change
over time and their
color turned to brown

NO MORE

NO MORE

]So no more will my children have the chance to ride their bikes to once sacred places
For long they have been sold
These lots for the labor vote
Sought after farm lands and fields of green

So no more inclined to climb and hang from limbs of the Acacia Plum
For just as you I am fully grown
And quite content to sit and drink
And recall the views from underneath your branches of a childhood once seen

So no more will be delivered conveniences of the past
No milk or bread to the door
No Sunday papers or grocery trucks
For shops are open 24/7 and for our dollars they are quite keen

So no more do neighbors nod and greet you in the morn
For all have busy insular lives
And a little out of practice
That makes many seem quite mean

And no more will you see children play in the street
Playing Handball and riding bikes
And has long not be considered safe
For fear of speeding cars

And no more will you see children playing outside after dark
The games of hide ‘n’ seek
Lest your child be bullied or kidnapped
Such thoughts indelible on the parents minds it scars

And no more on Sunday mornings are kids hurried off to church[/B]
For such is the rush of life
No need for God the creator and such things
For some are even raised as pagans and much prefer to worship stars

So no more, no more, the past is past
And life is changed forever more
And I can only visit my childhood through memories
As I take the time to recall

ANGER

, , , ...

ANGER

I
displeasure and hostility one's ire rises
smoldering in murderous rage
denotes the intense fury
the explosion of destruction that keeps man in a cage

II
vented anger with unjust cause
that disorientates my temperment
that rationalisation that provokes
animosity and resentment

III
and umbrage is taken as belligerence is aroused
and rears its ugly head elicits the maddening crowd

IV
I no longer wish to embrace the trouble and vexation
for injurous thou art to me - anger the acid
this vessel can hold thee not
for thou are no longer placid

V
no longer can I cast the burning coals for
blistered and red are mine hands
we cannot abide together you and I
this is my life and now I have demands

VI
I will deal and learn and understand how to master self
but excessive and misplaced I my flagitous conduct
as I come to realise resentment has built a house
and destroy now I the foundations of thy cornerstone

VII
warmth of constitution gives rise to such anger
- I tear down thy roof
high sense of honor that creates such indignation
- I tear down thy walls
and qiuck thy sensibilities that cherishes resentment
- I rip thy floorboards from thy resting place

VIII
for I abhor thou that distempers mine soul
that took delight in deceving me and now
the rebuilding must begin without retreat

IX
manifest the forgiveness the forebearance of time
and tense not the bodies muscles but relax
in calm for I no longer desire to wound myself
and predictable you have been and release now
thy hold from the almond structure of mind

X
as humbly I seek the grace as the cortex takes the upper hand
I give all to my Lord in humility before Him lowly I stand
and know that breathing in the Spirit will make thee impotent

THE TIME I SAVE...

, , ,

WITH THE TIME I SAVE........

speed dating
to find a life partner
express lane
at the checkout counter

Speed dialing
used to call a friend
instant messenger to cover
anything missed at days end

Instant soup, Instant gravy
for the 6 minute nuked meal
or pizza in 30 minutes isn't
that the quick time promised deal

and if I'm really in a hurry
I can rely on the 2 minute noodles
chow mein or indian curry

Fast forward the movie
quick sit down and don't forget
the 1 minute popcorn
that covers the kitchen flaw
like yellow puffy lawn

ATM or bank on the net
no need to stand in line
happy to sacrifice service
just to save some time

Daylight saving hour
Sure helped me save a lot
Now if I could only save the tan
And didn’t have to wear sunblock

There’s an hour up my sleave
As I bung the clothes in the washing machine
And the time I save from hanging out by
using the close dryer is sure to have the ecologist scream

And they say I can save time by
Using the dishwasher appliance but
I just don’t get it as I still have to rinse and stack
And dry and you guessed it
Still have to unpack

the nano nap for that much needed rest
that returns a pleasant and productive day
and keeps us at our best

Short cuts, back streets
Etag tollways

all supposed to save me time
and give me back some of my days

Drive through it's so much quicker
no getting out of the car, dragging out the kids
or finding a parking space
just order maccas and put a smile on everyone's face

the 747 jumbo jet
travelling at 720 miles per hour
will have me at my destination
as the world's fastest subsonic power

Speed is the rate of motion,
or equivalently the rate of change in position,
often expressed as distance traveled per unit of time

Fast food, fast lane,
quick pain relief
fast drying paint,
quick glue
beyond belief

the 1 hour photo lab
you can shop so no need to wait
select your fish from the frozen section
no need for a hook and bait

And a stitch in time
we are told saves nine
but as I neither sew nor iron
this saving grace I drew the line

I wish I really could slow down
and use all this time I saved
if only time could be controlled
and knew how to behave

Express post that all important letter
before collapsing in the emergency ward
and after a 6 hour wait and loosing all the time you saved
your not likely to feel much better

My dear friend

, ,

Dedicated to a dear dear friend who
does not complicate the distance between us,
nor polarisis the differences that be

MON CHER AMI

"Mon Cher Ami"
like Jonathon and David
pure the friendship be

Where like Ruth & Naomi
would be prepared to
travel over land and sea

Your friendship that has spanned
the years and withstood
the test of time

You honor me "Mon Cher Ami"
and in you have to be true
A single soul that dwells in two bodies

That when the last Autumn leaf seen
has fallen, there you'll
be standing, waiting, evergreen

and so the attachment of the heart
that considers and measures value
realising the kinship that was
always there from the start...

HEAVENLY BODIES

, , , ...

HEAVENLY BODIES

Emitted light from
distant past
visible to the naked eye

So why then can man
not see beyond your hot
body of glowing gas

and know that
the spoken word dispels all
man's questions of confusion

the answer to energy,
brightness...and
nuclear fusion

Sun star giver of light
Sun star giver of life

Luminious ball of plasma
radiates your beauty
under nights sky

Light that guides safely
giving man passage
upon watered sea

Who is your time keeper
who holds your heavenly
body fixed in time and space

Son creator of light
Son the giver of new life

Fields of color the
roof built upon our brow
looks commandinGly down

A garden of beams
illumine softly for
midnight's Milky Way.

And heralds a new dawn
that marks all time
and space

As the Father, smiles
upon man descending
heaven's light

That greets and calls
the heart of one
and through his son

gives grace...
