SUMMER'S APARTMENT

White painted walls
on either side their lies
a blank canvas that stares at me
white cold steel
vertical rails that mar
my vision
and what would be a beautiful
horizon is interupted and
stripped of its moments beauty
white sands too hot
to walk on forbid
that I should trespass
white blinding heat
pours down on me
melting my resolve
so hot the day
that makes all things
unpleasnt
so humid the air
it presses in
confinement it strangles me
and time befreinds me not
always choosing how painfully
slow it passes
all that once thought secure
such relationships no longer
my hearts solace
and the demon voice well known
for its ready made lies
whispers to my mind
"run and jump, think not
let thy end be wift
and I will hold your hand
and all your burdens will lift"
then white the truth reveals
that gives my heart the light
dispels the present darkness
that burned within me
and seared my eyes of truth
but my heart it feels
and knows that I am held
in the Father's hand
and protected there with him
for white the tiny white lies
did tell as they stripped away
memories spell
and back to where you came from
the white droplets of deceit
were sent

FOOTNOTE: Please note the following warning - I personally had been using this sleeping aid - only a few days at a time - with a break in between to avoid any addictiveness - what I got was violent mood rage swings, loss of memory, and a voice proding me to suicide to run and jump off a balcony....I thought it was a spirittual attackk, whilst I still think I have been suffering a spirutal attack no doubt in my mind now....however these little demons are a force unto themselves and will be taking all remainging stock back to the doctors with an interesting report....

Reading till 3am it is now days something very common to me.
When they say you reach your 50's and you see things beautiful ...they lie.
You see your days and nights longer...
I am 50 this year.I can be very daring about expressing myself.Very brutally honest about my feelings, more compassionate and at times more understanding...that's what comes with age.
Every body tells me I look like 35 but believe me looks don't erase PMS!
Oh, I also use more moisturizer!

in a village of population 80.
The village did not have a road to connect with the surrounding villages and towns. Only the train was passing through twice a day.We also had no electricity and no indoor bathroom...
My Dad was serving there and I did live from birth to age 5 when he was transfered to another small village.
My memories start from age of 3 and I do remember the peach trees in the yard. I used to deep my face in the ripe peaches and I used to play hide and seek behind the bee hives my father kept in the yard. My favorite picture it is the swing we had. Every time the wind blew I thought it was my good fairy god mother swinging...
Then one day on the flat board we had attached to the ropes to sit on, a baby sheep climbed and the swing was moving! My older sister ruined my fantasy of my fairy God mother for ever. She said "it was a sheep all along and finally it came to life!"
See, what happen when you ask me a simple question?? I do spill so many memories to you. I still try to understand why and what makes me feel sooooooo relaxed around you!
so the answer to when my Bday it is: the 1st of May!

I think its easier to spill ones guts so to speak when you don't feel judged but know there will be complete honesty at aleast for me I find that easier....
I didn't gety to the doctors yet to tell him about the stillnox episode but have them still bundled up ready to return to him....shocking stuff that is......but am using to full advantage any boo boo - I'm blaming it on the stillnox for my now usual outrageious behaviour now that i am becoming my old self....much to my friends delight today and to see me laugh and use shocking humor well at least shocking to us...lol
Angeliki # 25. January 2008, 01:20
I am also delighted to know you are laughing and using the "down under" humor again.
Is it different than the American humor?? When I first came to the US I had hard time getting many jokes(thats way too log of a story to tell..........
I had such a long day today. I am having some brandy and I hope to enjoy some tennis(I am a total fanatic).I do enjoy the Australian Open these days and understand it feels like our July at this time of the year in Australia.
As for my life,I am so brutally honest in person as I am behind a screen..........
There is so much to it that I need two lives to tell about it....
One of these nights that I will be up again I will write to you about what happen when I was 6 months old and it did change who I am for ever, and why I see things the way I do today.... Things look great !

Angeliki # 25. January 2008, 08:01
I just had a sweat attack(2:50am) and I smile reading your description of volley!
Having very tall kids Volley and basket are in our lives daily...
They are having both their Regents these days and our wake up call it is at 5:30am.
So, before I go back to bed and paint more(imaginary) targets on you canvas.....I just wanted to say,I am sure when you have the humor appreciation no mater what the nationality is, the laughter will bright your face the same!
Have a fantastic day,
Angeliki

guess it depends on how policitial correct one wants to get.....
I have the picnic already prepared but today is sooooo hot and the air con is going I may wait for the sun to go down I think before ventruing out.... We usually celebrate at another nearby city as they are not far away and have fireworks and stalls and music and such....and the park is usually clean and lovely this time of year....
So I have prepared some cold chicken, nibblies like nuts and chips, cold ice tea with lemon and lime, will take a hot pot of water for tea or hot choccy in the evening, some french bread sticks to dip into a (olive oil and balsmic vinegar with lemon and lime - kind of sweet) which is yummy, custard tart for desert for hubby as that's his favorite - a deck of cards to play and while away the time....
you too have a great day

You make my mouth watery !Every thing sounds delicious!
We do have fire works on the 4th of July in USA.
In NYC it is not allowed to fire them individually for safety reasons and security as well .Especially after 9/11 !
I often take the kids to Pennsylvania. The vendors have long tables by the side of the road and sell every kind of fire works. You can buy fireworks that are innocent or the serious type. It is a treat for my kids(I buy the innocent ones!).
My house it is located on the top of the mountain and since it is not in a resort but in a regular village you do have all neighbors BBQing and light fire works as well. The local fire Department does have also a show put together and since it is a group of volunteers from the village they do take a ride up the hill. The fire chief Mike ,he is my neighbor and when my kids were smaller he used to give them a ride on the fire trucks.
In NYC the fire works are organized by the city and they can be seen from the roof of our building. Usually if we stay in NY we go to the roof (17th floor) and we have a cold beer with our friends from the building. It is a lot of fun. I bought my apartment in this building back in 85 and I know most of the tenants(there are close to 500 living in the building).Only 20-30 are joining us on the roof.....
From the amount of the food you prepared I assume that you do have people over...
So, have a fantastic time,
Time to hit my bed!
Good Night,(Have a great afternoon...)
