Married Young

A blog about life.

Why I Blog

, , , , ,

So, someone left me a message asking me why I chose to share my personal life on a blog.
In answer to this question, I really don’t have just one reason.
When I got engaged, I was told not to do it. I was told that I was too young and too inexperienced to get married. I was told it wouldn’t last the first year. I didn’t understand what they were talking about because I had already lived with him for 4 years. What was going to be different?
So, I looked online for marriage advice for young people. I looked and looked and looked. I found a bunch of sites with advice about cheating spouses, broken homes, drugs, and all that. What about normal relationship advice??? What about regular relationships with nothing bad going on? Is that too dull for the internet?
Honestly, I am not writing the blog for anyone but myself. It sounds mean, I hope no one takes offense, but I write it for myself because I know that somewhere out there, there are people that might be going through the same things I am, and are looking for that normalcy that this blog may offer. Who knows?
I write this blog because I am very social, and was excited that people were reading my boring life and sending me messages, agreeing and disagreeing, and just having fun with it. Thanks to everyone, by the way.
So, this is why I started the blog. It’s kind of a little diary that I happen to share with others.

Busy Busy!This Weekend!

Besides, it's not like you plastered your full name on your Profile and people can go, "OMG! Jane Johnson is divulging her entire personal life on the Net on a Blog." yikes And you don't have any Pics on your Blog. So, you have your bases covered there as well. Just an anonymous diary, which as you said might even help someone with a situation or you can learn something from others experiences.

If you weren't Blogging, where else was someone going to go, "Hey, did you watch that Dallas Cowboys / Green Bay Packers game?" happy Hey, I'm even gonna be nice about it ... a Good Winner. No Rubbing In. I actually only caught like the last 7 minutes of the game.

I saw the beginning of the game but didn't watch all of it cause we had company. I don't know why they aren't giving aaron rodgers good plays. And let's not get into what the Jets are doing with Favre.. Why would u buy a great athelete for ur team and not use him to his full potential? Sorry about the typos, I am typing this from my Blackberry, lol.
Oh yeah, I refuse to be a sore loser. p

Anonymous writes: Hey! I just did a google search for 'married young blog' and came across yours! I read the post in which you said you could never find anything on the net about young married life - just that 'it will never last' etc etc. I read your 2nd post, and did some maths - you've been living together since you were 17 :) ... SAME! We've only been living together for 2 years, and are both still getting our bachelors, but lately we've been talking a LOT about 'taking the next step'. I've been trying to do a bit of research - get people's stories off blogs/discussion boards - but seriously, usually either really religious people who won't live together/have se before marriage, or jaded older people saying how they got married young and it sucks, etc etc. Like you, I don't want to start popping out kids from the get go, I want to travel and see the world, I want to use my degree to change the world, not diapers :|. If I end up making my own blog, I will let you know.

You know, I totally agree with you. Every blog I read was about a situation that I was not in. This is why I set out to do something for myself. We're not the most exciting people in the world, but I know someone out there could benefit from some "normalcy." smile
