About me

Born in Louisiana where the Mississippi (River) enters the Gulf (of Mexico). An 8-mm (silent celluloid) film showed my 1st birthday, there.
Lived in Milton, New Hampshire.
Moved to Vermont, so I grew up admiring the Green Mountains. We lived on Crescent Street and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary church. The day the first of two sisters was born, we moved to Hazel Street. That also changed our parish to St Peter parish. My dad taught at MSJ (and coached junior varsity basketball, too). That year or the next, my mom's mother helped me learn to read and speak French that summer (in Manchester NH).
I went to kindergarten at Mount Saint Joseph Academy - MSJ (and read in the high school library until Dad was done teaching).
I went to St. Peter's (grades 1-3). At the beginning of 4th grade, I changed to Northwest School (the municipal elementary school nearest our home). I completed grades 4 through 6 there (and began playing the flute as an 11-yo). Rutland Junior High School (grades 7-8) was my first exposure to the National Junior Honor Society. (Being a Hall Monitor was just like the Crossing Guard position I has when I was at Northwest). High School was at MSJ (9-12) with 4th-year math over at Rutland High School. In high school, I worked at Ted's Pizza shop.
We hiked, biked, ran, swam, climbed, jumped, dove, played, skied, snowmobiled, walked and rode around Elvin Lake, Pine Hill, Rocky Pond, Muddy Pond, Beaver Pond (Proctor), East Creek, Lake St. Catherine, Clarendon Gorge, the swinging bridge (the north part of where the Appalachian and Long Trails are one), Lake Dunmore, The Cascades, Silver Lake, Mountain Meadows, Pico, Killington (2nd highest peak in VT), Chittendon Dam, Brandon, Lake Bomoseen, Lake Hortonia. Sometimes I worked for Doc Hayles (helping with equipment delivery and retrieval as well as electronics diagnoses and usually repair). I attended RPI in Troy NY. I was awarded their Bachelor of Science (cum laude) in Electrical Engineering from in 1979. Beyond studies, I worked for RPI (beginning with my freshman year), Intermagnetics General Corp. in Guilderland NY, IBM General Technology Division in Essex Junction VT, LeCroy Research Systems in Spring Valley NY, Bell Laboratories and AT&T in Piscataway (and Somerset) NJ, Paranet (bought by Sprint to become Sprint-E|Solutions) based in Iselin until June (after the WTC was destroyed). For several years, I Worked as a private security officer (licensed under NJ SORA). Now, I am back in Rutland, Vermont.
