'KREMPITA' recipe, finally

,

It will take you about 25-30 minutes to make, the best if made 1 day prior to serving!

Mix 4 yolks and 5 table spoons of sugar, than add 6 table spoons of flower and 2 packets of vanilla sugar. Add about 150 ml of cold milk to the mix. Put 850 ml of milk and 1 butter stick (115grams) in deep dish and bring to boil.
Add egg mix to that boiling milk, decrease the heat to 3-4 (low medium). (must be low heat otherwise the bottom part will burn!) Beat 4 egg whites until solid cream and slowly add to milk-yolk mix and mix with mixer briefly. The cream should be smooth.
Place 'petite beure' biscuits in a square dish, pour hot cream on and lay another layer of biscuits on the top.
Serve cold with powder sugar.
It is so light and yummy.
Enjoy!

Cauliflower Soup

,

It is a beautiful Saturday again.
Off work, enjoying my kitchen and mess all around. I really should be reading but I want to cook something today.

Here is my cauliflower soup recipe, it is not very 'strict', you can add or omit some components, very easy to make, and tastes delicious:

Put 1 chopped small onion on a small amount of oil in a deep dish, add chopped carrots (10-15 baby carrots) and after few minutes (on medium heat) add 2 cups of water and let it cook for 20 minutes. (Optional : add 1/2 of a chicken breast, cut in small pieces). When carrots are half way cooked (getting softer), add 1 small cauliflower cut in pieces. Add more water to cover it all, celery, salt, (optional: celery salt), parsley.

Let it cook until cauliflower is soft, usually 15-20 minutes.

Mix one table spoon of flower with 1/2 cup milk and pour into soup (it will get thick and creamy).

Before serving, squeeze some lemon juice into soup so it gets a little bit of sour zest.

Serve hot!

Update on pancakes

Remember how I was day-dreaming about crepes this morning?!
Well, later in the day I got to eat some! (Not made by me).

Here is how you make crepes:

Mix: 2-3 eggs + 2 cups of flower+ 1 cup of milk + 1 cup of water (may use 1/2 cup sparkling, 1/2 cup regular), pinch of salt, pinch of sugar, little bit of oil. If too thick, add more milk/water, and if too thin add little bit more flower. This comes with experience.
