As Meggeler Meanders

Sunday I fried a turkey - see post Friday.

After slicing the turkey I was throwing a wing tip into the garbage disposal and it caught (you know the hum). Picking up my trusty broom handle I tried to dislodge the tip. Well it wouldn't come - so I got a little insistent and it (the disposal) jumped off the sink! The damn thing BROKE!

Since the sink was white and the faucets were silver (the white faucets chipped too bad a long time ago) I decided to replace both the sink and garbage disposal.

Damn - I didn't realize how may problems would show up. I have a old house, well not that old ('78) but things just don't fit with todays standards.

First the sink hold downs, guess they are clamps - need a 5/16 ((2.56/16*5)*10)mm hollow shaft nut driver not exactly having such a nut driver (why the hell would I) I drive mine with a full inch! (254 mm) - sorry. Couldn't get it to work. Poor MzJ (MzJ will come up in the future - she my current wife) as you can imagine it was a circus.

Anyway I got it done but damn I hurt. And MzJ still my wife.

Gotta' go - gonna eat more turkey!
