Since 2004.

Four-way Kart-off

So we finally had a Mario Kart DS online game.

Me against Leon, Tanya, and, live from Japan, Simon. Leon was the king, although, as ever, he was very lucky with his power-ups. ;-)

It was great fun (once we got the connection sorted), and bodes well for the online treats in store when Mario Kart Wii comes out in April.

Jake has Mario Kart DS. How does this work?

My DS connects via the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB connector - the PC has to be on, and the DS uses the PC's internet connection. (My Wii is now hardwired in using one of these, which was a lot cheaper in Japan...)

The Nintendo Wi Fi USB Connector is generally regarded as being a bit hit and miss as to whether or not it actually works with your PC, and Nintendo have recently stopped selling it, I believe.

The recommended solution is to have a wireless network, and then your DS and Wii can both use it to connect which is what Leon does.

I see. We have a wireless router but I've never bothered to activate it as we only need connection for one PC. Maybe I should get it connected so that Jake can play with the rest of you kids.
