A Canadian in Ireland

Doesn't have the ring of "An American in Paris" (or even "An American at Opera") but what can you do?

Funny, or Creepy

, ,

You tell me.

Has this ad been on TV in your country? I'm curious how widespread this campaign is.

EDIT: And a link to YouTube for phone users. Homer: Doh!

I tell ya it disturbs me. :eyes:

You weren't in Galway today by any chance Mickey

Mick-E 31. January 2009, 18:31

No, why do you ask?

Sprogger McSprog 31. January 2009, 18:42

Your visit to my blog earlier showed up as being from Galway, probably just server routing. It shows as Dublin now

Mick-E 31. January 2009, 18:48

Must be the ISP, I'm tucked up at home.

Angeliki 31. January 2009, 19:18

creepy

still great to see you Mick

Dennis 31. January 2009, 19:27

Haven't seen it on this side of the pond, but I don't watch a lot of tube anyway. It's slightly odd, but that's advertising. I don't find anything objectionable about it though. Why does it bother you?

Mick-E 31. January 2009, 19:58

Nice to see you too Angeliki

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

It doesn't bother me as such, it's just weird. There are moments where those kids look like robots or puppets. Watch the eyes.

Dennis 31. January 2009, 20:05

Yeah, I'll give you that. It's edgy. They're trying to be 'hip', or 'cool', Micky. The demographic they're looking at is 13 to 21, probably. If I didn't know how good Cadbury was, I wouldn't bother. That's just me, though.

Tony63 31. January 2009, 21:09

Wow, I thought it was great. I hadn't seen it before:yes:

Allan 31. January 2009, 21:37

I thought it was funny. I don't know why - but I guess it's like that with all things funny. Inexplainable.

And it's not been shown in Denmark. I think.

San 31. January 2009, 21:45

What the heck does that have to do with chocolate?

Dennis 31. January 2009, 21:59

Absolutely nothing.

Mick-E 31. January 2009, 22:03

Tony and Allan, thanks for the input.

Like Dennis said San, very little. The was some bumpf about it representing fun and lightheartedness, but I can't see it.

Sprogger McSprog 1. February 2009, 04:06

I`m not sure why but it gives me that Midwich Cuckoos vibe. Just a bit creepy.

Léazz 1. February 2009, 09:05

Hi Sir Mick. Its not shown here in Singapore.

Dennis 1. February 2009, 10:22

It was ok as far as ads went. The kids almost looked like claymation, you know?
Oh, and btw, it's not shown here in the States, afaik.

Mick-E 1. February 2009, 14:52

That's it sprogger, thanks for putting it into words. For some reason I find the girl is worse, something about her expression.

:star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star: :star:

Thanks for letting me know :queen:

Thanks Dennis, I imagine it's CGI of some sort.

hungryghost 7. February 2009, 09:00

Love it totally, but not seen it. Then again, I don't have a telly...

Mick-E 7. February 2009, 15:42

That would complicate things. :D

Dennis 7. February 2009, 16:57

Only if you wanted to watch tv

David Scott Aubrey 18. February 2009, 08:41

I've seen it, but I honestly can't recall if it was on the Internet or on TV. It has to be better than the tired old, "Wouldn't it be nice?" ads (clever as they were).

Mick-E 18. February 2009, 16:24

Interesting. I don't know those "wouldn't it be nice" ones you're talking about.

They're clever, but - like many commercials - after the 5,000,000th viewing ...

Mick-E 20. February 2009, 14:37

Cute. Thanks clean.
