Just where I've been

I stand to praise You
But I fall on my knees
My spirit is willing
But my flesh is so weak

Light the fire
In my soul
In my weary soul
Fan the flame
Make me whole
(make my spirit whole)
Lord, You know
Just where I've been
So light the fire
in my heart again

I feel Your arms around me
As the power of
Your healing begins
Your spirit moves right through me
Like a mighty rushing wind

Light the fire
In my soul
in my weary soul
Fan the flame
Make me whole
(make my spirit whole)
Lord, You know
Just where I've been
So light the fire
in my heart again

light the fire in my heart again
light the fire in my heart again

The Best two years in DC ever!

Pastor Deo, at a retreat at Amy Hoe's Bay house, declared over Rez Church that God was going to break the curse of singleness. It was based on a prophecy that Deo gave when a group of Rezzers went to Rwanda the summer before. Living on Capitol Hill and running around Georgetown, many, many of our people were not dating each other. We were playing soccer on the Mall every week, parties and late night discussion almost every night, but we needed a Charismatic Rwandan pastor to get us over ourselves. These are how my friends got married!!!! I can't believe someone posted this video!!

Elise and Jake Anderson
Garrett and Laciee Brown
Laura and Tommy Hinson
Christian and Helen Hofreiter
Joshua and Raquel Rogers
Jono and Ashley!!!!
Joannella Morales and Judd Birdsall
Tim and Dawn Luepke
and on and on and on...

Dan Claire: The first pastor that embraced, understood and loved me!

Dan is the man with the red guitar!

Baz Luhrmann's "Great Gatsby"

I am soooo excited!

The Civil Wars: Forget Me Not

The Civil Wars

The first song they wrote together... her voice is amazing.
Missing music school.

Haven't you seen me sleep walking?
'Cause I've been holding your hand
Haven't you noticed me drifting?
Oh, let me tell you, I am

Tell me it's nothing
Try to convince me
That I'm not drowning
Oh let me tell you, I am

Please, please tell me you know
I've got to let you go
I can't help falling
Out of love with you

Why am I feeling so guilty?
Why am I holding my breath?
Worry 'bout everyone but me
I just keep losing myself

Tell me it's nothing
Try to convince me
That I'm not drowning
Oh let me tell you, I am

Please, please tell me you know
I've got to let you go
I can't help falling
Out of love with you

Won't you read my mind?
Don't you let me lie here
And die here

Please, please tell me you know
I've got to let you go
I can't help falling
Out of love with you

Haven't you noticed?
I'm sleepwalking

The Candidate: Blue Eyed Boy United States

The Big Parade: the big lie and yet the most beautiful thing you've ever seen.

Lovely girl won't you stay, won't you stay, stay with me
All my life I was blind, I was blind, now I see
Lovely girl won't you stay, won't you stay, stay with me
All my life I was blind, I was blind, now I see

Fleet of black, fleet of black limousines
These tinted machines, here comes the cavalcade

With the armored cars, armored cars like berettas
Flags on antennaes designed to keep me safe, keep me safe

And oh my my oh hey hey
Here he comes, the candidate
Blue eyed boy, united states
Vote for him, the candidate

Diamonds cut, diamonds cut for the carrots
Plaster of paris, the floats fill up the street

And the beauty queens, beauty queens with the white gloves
All sick from the night clubs, they wave with pageantry, pageantry

Oh my my oh hey hey
Here it comes, the big parade
Marching bands and barricades
Make way, for the big parade

Canvas covered, canvas covered in resin
The violent men who dance the blood ballet
And the bookies say, bookies say it's the 3rd round
Oh when louie will go down, if he don't there's hell to pay, and hell to raise

And oh my my oh hey hey
Here he comes, the welterweight
Take a dive, for goodness sake
Or say goodbye to the welterweight

Catholic priest, catholic priest in a crisis
He's torn between romance and jesus, who will win the civil war

And he says I'm in love, I'm in love with a woman
Yea this is my confession, I'm leaving I can't a priest anymore, anymore

And oh my my oh hey hey
There he goes, the man of faith

Left the church for a fiance
Let him love, the man of faith

T.v. cameras, t.v. cameras and stage hands
American bandstand, electric guitars

And he's singin songs, singin songs for the lonely
All the girls with the room keys, they know all his words by heart, by heart and they all sing

Lovely girl won't you stay, won't you stay, stay with me
All my life I was blind, I was blind, now I see
Lovely girl won't you stay, won't you stay, stay with me
All my life I was blind, I was blind, now I see

Lovely girl won't you stay, oh oh ohoh

Oh my my oh hey hey
Here she comes by saving grace
Burn the car and save the plates
She's arrived, my saving grace

Strange Encounters in Coffee Shops... Kimberly

I was sitting in a coffee shop yesterday evening writing when I met a fellow writer. The script he was working on was fascinating and we got to talking about genre and stories that are surprisingly attractive. These are the stories you would never think you would be interested in writing. It was a great conversation, the kind that comes out of nowhere... then out of nowhere he asked me my name again. I told him "Kimberly" and he said, "like that Patti Smith song." I told him that I was not familiar with Patti's repertoire. He said it was maybe the best of Smith. Curious, when I got home I listened to it.

Here it is, no comment:

The wall is high, the black barn,
The babe in my arms in her swaddling clothes
And I know soon that the sky will split
And the planets will shift,
Balls of jade will drop and existence will stop.
Little sister, the sky is falling, I don't mind, I don't mind.
Little sister, the fates are calling on you.
Ah, here I stand again in this old 'lectric whirlwind,
The sea rushes up my knees like flame
And I feel like just some misplaced Joan Of Arc
And the cause is you lookin' up at me.
Oh baby, I remember when you were born,
It was dawn and the storm settled in my belly
And I rolled in the grass and I spit out the gas
And I lit a match and the void went flash
And the sky split and the planets hit,
Balls of jade dropped and existence stopped, stopped, stop, stop.
Little sister, the sky is falling, I don't mind, I don't mind.
Little sister, the fates are calling on you.

I was goin' crazy, so crazy I knew I could break through with you,
So with one hand I rocked you and with one heart I reached for you.
Ah, I knew your youth was for the takin', fire on a mental plane,
So I ran through the fields as the bats with their baby vein faces
Burst from the barn and flames in a violent violet sky,
And I fell on my knees and pressed you against me.
Your soul was like a network of spittle,
Like glass balls movin' in like cold streams of logic,
And I prayed as the lightning attacked
That something will make it go crack, something will make it go crack,
Something will make it go crack, something will make it go crack.

The palm trees fall into the sea,
It doesn't matter much to me
As long as you're safe, Kimberly.
And I can gaze deep
Into your starry eyes, baby, looking deep in your eyes, baby,
Looking deep in your eyes, baby, looking deep in your eyes, baby,
Into your starry eyes, oh.

Oh, in your starry eyes, baby,
Looking deep in your eyes, baby, looking deep in your eyes, baby, oh.

Oh, looking deep in your eyes, baby,
Into your starry eyes, baby, looking deep in your eyes, baby
