I got myself a new haircut and had a couple of VERY interesting lectures. We talked about how poverty is related to economy and a lot about gender discrimination in some parts of the world as well as how some "underdeveloped" countries have more equal rights between the genders than in European countries.
Back to the main topic, my haircut. I wanted to have this: And this is how it looks now: The first picture was taken right after I went out from the hairdresser, the second one just before my lecture would start and the third one on my way home - five hours after my new haircut was done.
"WWYD?" stands for "What Would You Do" and is one of the recurring posts that will be available here in my blog from now on. We'll see how often they will be posted though.
Did you know that we may have only one week last on Earth? Yep, it's true. Next wednesday, 10th of September, the biggest particle-accelerator - called LHC, in Geneve, could contribute to the end of our lifes. There is a big risk that black holes will be formed when the particles filled with energy in LHC collide with the velocity of light. The black holes can devour the whole globe. What could also happen is that in the accelerator something called "strangelets", a not very usual matter, can be formed. what this matter would do is that it would convert normal matter to the same type of strange matter that strangelets are, which would also contribute to the end of the world. So, if you see something dark in the horizon next week, everything is lost!
But what will happen if we all survive the start of LHC, and we can continue to live our beautiful lifes, where would you like to see yourself in five years? This is a question that I often ask myself. What I definitely know is that I still want the same that I wanted when I first started uni, three years ago. You tell me your plans, and I'll tell you mine.

Note: A "friends only"-post is available for a couple of my readers, just before this one.
Yesterday we decided that we would drive to a city, 24 miles from Umeå, called Lycksele. So after 10 in the morning we drove away and two hours later arrived in Lycksele and to the Zoo of the city. I have not been in zoo since I was around 13 years old.It was so funny to see the animals and take pics of them.
The special thingy with this zoo is that all of the animals live in Sweden only. I will defintely upload the rest of the pics when I am back in Sthlm.
After having been in the zoo, we went to eat burgers from up here, and they are definitely MUCH better than McDonalds and Burger King. The name of the company is Frasses, and you get everything in one menu. Should I get this car?
After our late lunch we took a walk in the centre of the small town, and paid a visit to a café. I have to admit that my caffe latte was not the cheapest that I have bought but it was the BEST caffe latte I have had (to drink) in my whole life. And that it had a design didn't make it worse.
On our way back to Umeå, we stopped close to Vindelälven (a river) and took pics. Muñeco loved that little outing to the nature, he even went down to the river and was jumping from one stone to another to not get wet. And right afterwards he started to run around the car, a sign that he was at his best and feeling good.
Yes, here comes a blog and a vlog. Funny, right? I have been thinking what I can do so that my phonie-friends can follow me at the same time as I post vlogs. Any ideas? The best thing may be to do as I am doing now. Post some in blog-form and a some in vlog-form. Help me, give me some ideas!!!
I went to the vet today. There is nothing to worry about. We will do Ultrasound on him to hopefully find out what the reason to him fainting the other day is.
This is my secret project gals and guys! This is my first video that I have done on my own. All of the pics were taken during my trip in that beautiful country. Don't have too high hopes on my editing skills, but I am pretty sure that it is a very good first try. Check it out for yourselves...and leave comments!
It's Sunday, 1st of June, today. But three years ago it was a Wednesday and... my high school class was about to graduate.
Let me tell you a bit about the rituals that most high school classes have on their graduation, something we had too. Before the celebration starts organized by the teachers, the graduating class meets one last time early in the morning for champagne-breakfast.Champagne is drinken and strawberries are eaten during the breakfast.
Afterwards the students get breakfast from the school, the ceremony starts, students hold speechs (I was one of them) and last but not least, grades are given to them. At 11.00/12.00/14.00 (depending on the school) sharp they run out from school to their parents and friends who are waiting to congratulate them and give them presents. Pictures are taking with other classmates and hats are signed with greetings.
Later on, most students travel on truck beds in town at the same time as they drink and sing, and are happy. Afterwards, there is a reception with the closest family and friends where the students eat and get even more presents and congratulations. In the late afternoon there is a short break in the celebrations before the whole class meets and goes to a bar/discoteque and have a last evening together.
And when they are totally wasted...or just tired...they take the subway and go home for some well deserved sleep.
And that, my friends, is how the graduation day is celebrated in Sweden.
One word, which probably won't describe what really happened today, but I don't really care... WOW!
What happened then? Okay, let's start from the very beginning. I worked really well today with my homeworks. I managed to write an editorial and some more stuff and send it in time to the professor. Märta sent me a text message telling me that she'd come with me to Dima Bilan's performance. Me --> Afterwards I showered Muñeco so that he would look handsome when meeting another dog and her owner, who hopefully will take care of him while we are gone. Didn't he look just awesome? Later on, I was in a hurry back home to put more clothes on, since I didn't want to catch a cold. I managed to do everything according to my planed schedule, and I have to say that it was an achievment. I met Märta in the central station of Sthlm and together we travelled to the place where Dima Bilan was going to hold his performance. We were not even excited when we got there...but after a couple of minutes we even started to scream as the rest of the crowd. I pressume that we were about 1000 people +/- 100, but I have no idea. Anyways, Dima perfomed his song together with the violinst. Very good I must say...but not as good as during ESC08. It's possible that my opinion is a bit biased since I couldn't see very much ofhim. Most of what I saw was through my mobile. Here comes his performance and some talk, mostly in Russian.
The link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MtX6_ZuY-u8 Later on it was time for autographs and the possibility of taking a picture with him was there. Everybody was supposed to form a line, but people started to push from different sides and some got all hysterical. I've been in very crowded places twice in my life. The first time was in February 2004, in Rome during my school-trip with my high school. We took the subway at around 19.00 and people were so close to each other that I could hardly breath. The second time was in May 2008, after Dima's performance. Since stupid parents brought their little kids to the performance and people started to push from several places at once to get a glimps of Dima, he abruptly ended the signing of autographs and left. So, I'm sorry. I couldn't take a picture of him and Mizz Martínez for you...next time maybe? I managed to take a picture with the boss of the Swedish version of ESC.
Even thought the crowded area started to disolve the heat in the shopping mall was still very high. We thought of going to a bar and drink , but changed our plans in the last minute. Both were tired and the crowd didn't make it much easier for us to just take it easy. It was a wonderful experience, and I'm sure that I'll be at the same event next year..if the ESC-tour comes to Sweden again that is. If the spirit was so high tonight...I wonder how the whole feeling must be during the contest. It must be really wonderful to be part of that party. I'll definitely be in Russia for that special event.
I didn't do much today...more than listen to Dima Bilan and his songs. No studies, since I wasn't in the mood....but I had a couple of surprises during the day, both good and bad.
Good:
My mother loves to shop, something that I hate to. If I go to a shop, I usually leave the place in less than two minutes unless I find something that I'm interested in. Not my mother. So, she was in the mood for shopping and she bought three clothings for me. And for once I agree with her taste. Now I can fill my wardrobe with two dresses and a fine shirt(?) -->
We know now that we'll travel to Bolivia on the 12th. I've already began to pack my bag.
Bad:
I thought that my essay that had to be handed in two weeks ago was perfect. Apparently, my teacher didn't think so. She read the first page and refused to continue reading the rest of my essay. So now, I have less than two days to fix my essay...
The woman whom's dogs we've taken care of before, refuses to pick up her phone since she knows that she'd have to help us out with Muñeco. What a person! We helped her twice, without even asking for any kind of compensation. And now she doesn't even have the gutts to say: "No, I don't want to take care of him." I'm so I'll have to look for a caring and loving person for my son elsewhere.
It's a bit over one hour left for the competition that I long for during exactly 356 days. I don't have much time do write a long post about tonight's contest since I have to get to the shop to buy snacks and coke for this special evening. But here comes my list of countries which I'd like to see as winners.
TOP8 Armenia Azerbaijan Denmark Georgia Greece Portugal Russia Sweden
You'd like to watch the biggest entertainment show/competition of this year? Watch it online: http://www.eurovision.tv
Have you noticed that I ESC? I just found out the order of the contestants on Saturday evening.
Here it is: 1. Rumenia 2. United Kingdom 3. Albana 4. Germany 5. Armena 6. Bosnia-Hercegovina 7. Israel 8. Finland 9. Croatia 10. Poland 11. Iceland 12. Turkey 13. Portugal 14. Latvia 15. Sweden 16. Denmark 17. Georgia 18. Ukraine 19. France 20. Azerbaijan 21. Greece 22. Spain 23. Serbia 24. Russia 25. Norway
Tonight is a BIG day for me. The first semifinal in Eurovision Song Contest 2008 starts, the first out of two. This is one of the best weeks that I long for during a whole year. Here comes an analysys of the songs which will be performed today. Out of 19, 10 will go to the finals on Saturday. Besides my short comment for the 19 songs, all of the ones I trust and believe in (seven to be precise) are linked to youtube, so that you can be aware of what I think is good. Here we go!
1. MONTENEGRO "Zauvijek volim te" (I love you forever) - Sorry Montenegro but...bad taste, and boring.
2. ISRAEL "The fire in your eyes" - Just annoying.
3. ESTONIA "Leto svet" (Summer, world) - Gosh, this song sucks!
4. MOLDAVIA "A century of love" - Jazz? I don't get the performce nor the song.
5. SAN MARINO "Complice" (Accomplice) - Sounds like a ballad from the 90s. Waste of time.
6. BELGIUM "O julissi" - Sang in an invented language. Isn't it the second time for Belgium? Sure, sounds completely okay...but the song having no meaning at all makes it a bit...meaningless.
7. AZERBAIJAN "Day after day" - Now we are talking. Opera vs Pop/Rock. Angel vs Devil. Opposites attract right? Here they certainly do. One of my favourites to the final. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=cTNREz9CVs4
8. SLOVENIA "Vrag naj vzame" (To hell with it) - A good song. I like the song and the rhythms. Specially the refrain. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=aUi9AjIDSmE
9. NORWAY "Hold on, be strong" - Like Like Like! I like the beginning, this girl has potential. And it's quite strange that I like this song after all, with all it's R&B-influence. However, this song should go to the final. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=O0BIMDrfkz4
10. POLAND "For life"- Horrible. Definitely too calm for me. A big "no-no" from me.
11. IRELAND "Irelande douze pointe" - I really don't know what to think or do. Should I laugh? Cry? Do I like it? What does this parrot/bird say most of the time? The title...over and over again. No.
12. ANDORRA "Casanova" - Why would you use a concept that hasn't worked for the last couple of years? *yawn* Boring...another boring song.
13. BOSNIA-HERCEGOVINA "Pokusaj" (Try) - Let's see... I don't see any special point in this song more than the strange costums. I guess it's a no for this one too.
14. ARMENIA "Qele Qele" (Come on, come on) - Yes, this is what I'm talking about. This song has winner-potential. This has "it" in ESC. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=QOn2QBqDZ4E
15. The NETHERLANDS "Your heart belongs to me" - I like this one too. It has a couple of modern rhythms and some exoctical too, hidden in the music. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=Ax3LY2uQN38
16. FINLAND "Missä miehet ratsastaa" (Where the men ride) - Horrible. Trash. DejaVu. Nothing new. Repetition sucks...and to sing in Finish doesn't make it better.
17. ROMANIA "Pe-o margine di lume" (To the end of the world) - Wonderful duo with two good singers who are able to combine their skills and make something beautiful. Strange, isn't? Me, who almost despises calmed songs, likes this one. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=lhTzxeXe5MU
18. RUSSIA "Believe" - Sure, the song and the singer are okay. But..that's it. Just okay. And okay is not always enough. Sorry Alla and Olga, but I can't imagine seeing Russia in the finals. I may be wrong though...Let's wait and see.
19. GREECE "Secret combination" - This girls tries to be another Helena Paparizou..but wannabeas are not okay either. No harms to the song though. The song is one of the best tonight. Greece goes definitely to the finals. WATCH IT --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=8vAa4kaiJ2k
And I know that you are all asking the same question. How will Kerst (a.k.a. Mizz Martínez) look at this competition if she doesn't have a telly? The answer is: http://www.eurovision.tv
I'm not a big fan of the cinemas, mostly because I like the thought (and action?) of downloading a movie/song/etc., to my computer and watch it in my loneliness and boredom when I feel like it. But there are a few movies which just have to be seen in the cinemas..and those are the films of M. Night Shyamalan. He has written and directed my favourite films: The Sixth Sense (1999)
Unbreakable (2000)
The Village (2004)
And in June another of his work wonders will arrive to a cinema (and computer) close to you. I can't wait! The movie is called "The happening" and is definitely worth watching. According to IMDB it's
A paranoid thriller about a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity
I'm sold for this movie...I'm going to watch it, sooner or later, and preferably at the cinema. In Sweden it will be released on the 11th of June, I'm pretty sure it'll be released earlier in Bolivia..but in the USA it'll arrive to the cinemas on the 13th ( Deliberately planned to fall on Friday the 13th). You want to watch the trailer? Here you go: And the link to the phonies? http://youtube.com/watch?v=4fwccFTJIdo
This was me, 6 years ago (06-06-2002). Before the start of our last evening as elementary school-students! In my fave colour, back then of course (You should all know my favourite colour by now! ). The dress was made by my mother...and I still have it although I haven't been wearing it more than during the ball. If you press on the picture you'll be able to see my class and a couple of teachers.
I'm freezing, I'm having fever, I'm tired even though I've slept quite a lot...I'm sick!
I have such an important thing to do tomorrow, somthing that I HAVE to do and I get sick!
Pictures from the congress have been uploaded in THIS ALBUM
I'm rather busy lately, apart from being sick. I was at the headquarters of my Party today and did the calendarium for the coming six weeks. They should arrive to all of our members on Friday. I have that IMPORTANT thing to do tomorrow, afterwards I have classes, later in the afternoon I'll hand out flyers and in the evening we'll have a family friend over for dinner. I have to go to a Venezuela meeting as well, the question is whether it's on Wednesday or Friday. Thursday --> school and project meeting, and visit another family friend who is sick. Friday, perhaps the Venezuela meeting and/or chairbording meeting of our Mother Party in our home area.
As soon as I'm feeling better I'll post much more and the links to my videos.
This is my first personal VideoBlog filled with an update of my life, or just a part of it!
Since yesterday evening the size of my family has increased! And since tomorrow is my first Operaversary I thought I would do something special...the question is whether it truly is special. Here it is anyways: Phonies --> Click HERE I'm sorry for the close-up, but I totally forgot that I had zoomed in and then I was too lazy to redo it.
Today and tomorrow will be hectic days for me. I have to do several things before being able to travel tomorrow to Arboga and the congress!
Clean my room
Do the laundry
Organize my wardrobes
Write an essay
Hand in a translation
Pack my suitcase
Take out the dogs for walks
Buy candy for Muñeco, since he'll stay with Lady's and Dulce's owner from Saturday to Sunday
Sleep
Do an Operaversary-post and an post about the coming four days
On Friday, me and Love walked around town and gluid posters. It was more difficult than we had thought it would be. Mostly, because we had to walk and if we forgot one single street...then we had to go back (which happened several times We wanted to be done with them...and couldn't resist to think of the time when we would be done with them...but then we heard our stomachs cry for food and we took each a Subway-sandwich...and from then on, the whole continuing procedure went faster...and suddenly we were done with the work. I went home, changed clothes and took Muñeco with me to Daniel's place where we were supposed to get drunk ( ). I payed the state-controlled company for the sale of alcoholic beverages a visit on my there and bought a bottle of white wine. At Daniel's place, we ate tacos which btw were very tasty...and specially with wine Märta, Daniel, me and Muñeco in the corner
On Saturday, I was up early since we had to be in the headquarters of the Party at 11. We collected the megaphones and the banderoles, and went to the square where the demonstration would start from. What demonstration? The demonstration against the US-war of Iraq. It's been five years since US started bombing Iraq, and the war is not over. Over 500,000 people have been killed since the war started. Abu Ghraib is now a center of torture, where 70,000 people are at moment including children. The violance against people of other religions have increased. Private companies of security terrorize and kill civilians. What you didn't know, is that I was one of the peeps that was going to have a megaphone during the whole demonstration to Sergels Torg. It was a tremendeously funny experience. To make people scream slogans with your help is kind of awesome. I had never done it before, and at the beginning it felt quite odd...I got the attention of about 30-50 people on the demonstration line...AND the eyes of people on the streets. But afterwards, I was so proud of what I've done. One vid before the demonstration started: LINK: Vid #1
And another vid from when we finally arrived to Sergels Torg: LINK:vid #2 How did I look then? Before and After the demonstration Now, I have some ache in my arms and shoulders...but I don't mind!
In the evening I watched Melodifestivalen at home, although I could have gone to Lisa's place where my high-school gang would be...but I didn't feel for it a day before. And it was a good decision after all. Right after I got back from the demonstration, I felt that I had fever...and I went to bed. I woke up 30 minutes before the show would start...and the fever was gone! Who won the competition then? The one I thought would win. This female artist won the competition 1999 in both Sweden and Europe. Her name is Charlotte Perelli (former Nilsson), you want to see her and at the same time watch the performance with which she won the competition? Press here It could go both ways with her...hopefully, she'll win the whole competition. The song is good Time will tell!
Okay, maybe just a tiny bit! I don't know if any of you recall that I went to Uppsala a while ago and took some pictures which would be used for the new catalogue of one of the universities with my Engineer program from which I've take a year off... Anyways, they sent me a copy so that I can have and frame it. What do you think? It looks like I don't have a neck
And if you enter the homepage of that university and press on one of the bars which says: Civiling. i Energisystem (the orange one) you'll see me on the front page! And a quote of what I said on the interview! But of course, if you are too lazy to go to that page on your own...you can just check it here! I'm kind today..
After U, me and Märta went to her place to have lunch. Daniel came a bit later to her place. We were going to study/read, eat lunch and drink wine, which we also did for a while...but then Märta told us that a specific sort of nuts/seeds, that she had on her table, are good aphrodisiacs...and the combination of and the new information made us start to laugh...and I accidently spilled my glas of wine onto a book that I've borrowed from a friend of mine. Red wine...So now, instead of saving money, I'll have to buy one instead We were getting more and more drunk, even though it wasn't even 3 in the afternoon, so I decided to go home and try to study on my own instead. Wish me good luck..
Since this week is already fully planned I thought you could follow me in my everyday life. I don't think that I've been so fully-booked the latest weeks as this one. But, just because I have so much to do it doesn't necessarily mean that I'll be able to do every single thing...I thought you'd know that
Monday(okay, it's almost over...but still)
Hand in a homework
Meet a classmate and try to finish the presentation for Tuesday.
I was going to take a bath for a couple of minutes ago. I started filling the bath-tube with water, came to my Mac to check out the latest on MyOpera and when I got back...I didn't see the clear water I usually do. No, it was all YELLOW!
As most of you should know, today is the International Women's Day. I haven't done much today, but I participated in the demonstration organized by my political party. I was supposed to sell warm chocolate, but when I got to the place it said in the list of volunteers that I was going to be a guard during the demonstration. So, I got a red band to put around my arm, and since it was some time left before the speechs and the demonstration would start I offered myself to sell feministic pins. It went awesome for me, I sold several pins...and talked to a lot of people. I even got interviewed on my views of this special day, which is awesome! Amongst the people I talked to, there was a women (one year older than me) who had moved up here with her bf, she was nice to talk to...and we were joking around by saying "What a small world we live in". We talked about our backgrounds..and I found out that she came from the same city as my ex-bf. She asked for his name, I told it to her...and we found out that she knew him, quite well actually. They had known each other since they were little children. What are the odds, right?
Back to the demonstration. We had some cool slogans during the demonstration, here are some: Kvinnors rätt är allas rätt (The rights of women, are everybody's rights) Upp till strid - kvinnofrid (Let's fight - Peace to women) Halva makten - hela lönen (Half the power - the whole salary) Stoppa sexismen (Stop the sexism) Inga sexister på våra gator - fyll dem istället med bögar och flator (No sexists on our streets - fill them with gays and lesbians instead)
Here below you'll find two videos of today's big event. Women over here don't get many presents on this day (if any at all), but people know why we are having this day...and that's a good sign towards equal rights between the genders.
Oh, and here is the second video...it was a mood of joy spread on the square, which is awesome to see and hear.
I couldn't stay much more to listen to the artists nor to any further speechs since Melodifestivalen would start in less than an hour. I ran to the subway, met an acquaintance of the Party there, changed subway, got off on my station, ran to the store to buy myself chips and coke for the evening, got home, went out with Muñeco for a walk and finally got back home just in time to look at the show.
You want to check out the fifth competition before the Swedish final of next week? HERE is your chance!
once you are at the website you have to choose what kind of player you want to have; either Windows or Real Player...twice! And then you'll be able to view the show!'
I was going to do some cleaning after a lazy day at home, so..that included taking a look into my wardrobes. So, I was taking care of my business, choosing what to keep and what to throw away...and Muñeco finds a shoebox (actually, a boot-box! ) and decides that it's a good place to take a nap in. What do you think about his decision?
I was stressed the whole day! First, just as I was on my way out I remembered that I had to print out a paper that was going to be handed in...so I had to stay a couple of minutes at home to print it out and be late. Last week, I had been the one that had been to early for the lesson...now Märta was that instead (I was so happy that it wasn't me this time! ). After class it was lunch, but since neither me or Märta were ready with the homework for the afternoon we decided to go to the Mac-computer room and finish it there. Daniel hanged along...and we ate lunch at the same time as we typed. I even had to walk with my food to the classroom since I wasn't done, and the Caffé Latté I had bought earlier was put in my jacket's right pocket. After that lesson was over, we wanted to hand in the homework...but the professor said: "No, no...I don't want anything!" We were surprised and said that we had done the homework for today, and she replied that there was no homework for today! We looked at the planification of the course, and indeed...it didn't say anything about any homework. So, we had stressed during lunch in vain! Note to self: Be more careful with what I do and look careful at the planifications!
The day was wonderful otherwise, the sun was shining and the summer-feeling could definitely be sensed. People looked a lot happier somehow
Picture taken by Daniel
I was forgetting...as I wrote above, I was stressed during the day. After school I wanted to get home a.s.a.p. because of my internet connection. I wanted to contact the internet-company so that they wouldn't cut off the connection (I had forgotten to pay for it) and the operator said that it was fine. *phew* As Aadil wrote somewhere over here, MyOpera is like oxygen...and I would not have survived the whole weekend without entering this community. Luckily, I'll live a bit longer now!
I'm trying to learn CSS by my own, and I see different things on my header depending on which browser I use...could you please tell me what you see? When I use Safari/Firefox I get to see the header on the left, when I use Opera I get the one on the right...so now I wonder...what do YOU see?
My fave-favourite song yesterday was sang by (Sebastian) Fronda, a song that would have made a good representation of Sweden in ESC. It would have given new rythms and a happy feeling to Europe. I had never heard of him before, nor his songs...but the song he participated with yesterday, in the last semifinal of this year, and the others will be played very LOAD the next coming days! I'm sorry phonies, but I can't find this song viewable for you... but for the others...here you go!
The song is in Swedish, and here comes a short summary of the lyrics. Fronda says that nobody is feeling as good as him since he doesn't want to stress through life. There are so many "to do"-things always. Our society tells us to always have a smile on our face, although we are pissed off. There's almost taboo to not be perfect. Fronda tries to tell us to live our life as we want it...and not as the society around us tells us to live it as.
/// Mizz Martínez
Ps. I tried to download the file so that phonies could listen to the song..but it doesn't work! I don't know what I do wrong!
I can't understand how people in Sweden vote..they surely prefer to have known artists in the final than good songs sang by noobies! I liked three songs very much, one made it to the "Second chance" while the other two didn't come near it!
You wanna hear my fave that didn't make it all the way? My absolutely fave song is THIS, and the one that comes in the second place is THIS one!
I’ve been busy the last couple of hours, but now I’m ready for the big event of the evening. The last semifinal before the second chance and the final. There are too many known artists this in this semifinal…so I don’t exactly look forward for the program itself…but since it’s a tradition I got to watch!
'once you are at the website you have to choose what kind of player you want to have; either Windows or Real Player...twice! And then you'll be able to view the show!'
This is my second night that I stay up to finnish some piece of arts (JK). I thought I'd post this post giving you a couple of short news about my life:
∞ Muñeco is sleeping, snoring and dreaming (from time to time he barks) I wonder if I'm in his dream ∞ I found a bouncing plastic pink ball in our last walk tonight...it's very bouncy...and Muñeco likes it a lot. So, the answer is no..you may not have it! ∞ I got hold of a couple of pictures from the reunion of my elementary school. You can check them out in my February-album...or just press on the beautiful and picture below of the whole gang united!
I was strolling down-town with Märta looking for an Indian restaurant and on our way to the place, we saw this cutie! He is two years old, big and just...ADORABLE! What ya think?
The whole day I was in a delegate meeting for the 44thcongress that will take place in Arboga between the 20th to 23rd of March. This was the first out of three for us in Stockholm. In this meeting we got through the political plan of activity for the following 2-3 years that our party will work with, but we also got to discuss a bit more the different congress bills. We have to be prepared for the congress where we have to make our opinion heard if we want to focuse on something special during the upcoming years. As you may imagine, several subjects were discussed but the subject that was most discussed was about our party being acknoledged in written paper as an anti-racist one. During the last congress, it was decided that we are a socialist and feminist party. And I personally think that it would be only good if we would describe ourselves as a "socialist, feminist and anti-racist" party. We'll see how it goes in the congress. Another subject that was mentioned a lot as well was about the intern-racism in our party. Just because Sweden consist of people with different cultural heritages it doesn't mean that there is no racism...even in the working class the "white" may be a bit racist against people with different background, and why deny the simple fact. Of course, this is the outcome of the capitalistic dream...and we have to change it!
I had an enlighting day and it wil only get better! Within 30 minutes, the third semifinal of the Swedish version of ESC will start. You want to share this wonderful moment with me? PRESS HERE

I’m furious now! There is such a missinterpretation of the meaning of feminism around the world and in most broadcasting medias - it’s just outrageous! Before, when I was a not so well-informed gal I used to refuse the thought of being a feminist since I thought that they were all men-haters and lesbians. I fell for the propaganda of the leftists, which is a shame. I used to criticize others thinking that my perception of the meaning of feminism was correct. Anyways, after some studying in the subject I realized that it has a completely other meaning.
For just a couple of minutes ago I heard on the radio an advertisement for Slitz where they said that even ”men-hater feminists” would like to have a copy of the latest edition. So, now hear up everybody. You’ll grow in knowledge now!
Feminism is a charged word. There are so many fundamental errors in out society and every single day that passes by we are reminded of it, in one way or another. In the resolution of the UN about the human rights there is an emphasize on how important it is to treat every human being equaly, how important it is that every single person knows that they are worth equally much…but not when we speak about genders!? The word feminist was originally a disparaging word to describe the women who had not adjusted their behaviour to the existing gender normes. It originates in the french revolution and has now grown to an important intellectual and political force. Feminism is a theory around the structures of genders in the society, where women are supposed to be subordinated while men are the norm. Out of this situation has the movement of feminism been created to counteract the social differences of the genders and to break the gender roles. If we look at the movement’s history we can see the fight that women had to go trough for their rights, such as our right to vote, same salary for the same work and equality in trials but lately have the rights and obligations of the men grown stronger as military service and a closer paternity.
Most feminists, women and men, are "likeness-feminists" and they say that the differences in behaviours or other between the genders is esentially constructed by the society and should be obstructed.
Sincerelly, we have to create a society where men and women are equal, where violence is not accepted or less salary is given to women…because they are women. We have to work to abolish the not so equal gender structure. We have to question and analyze in which way different questions affect women and men, how power is divided between the genders, etc. It’s about the division of the resources and the legislation but also about making visible the inequality and increasing knowledge about feminism and equality. As Jen wrote
feminism is when men and women...value relationship, intuition and approaching life with a spirit of collaboration for the greater good.
Gosh! I've never been so angry this year with someone outside my family as today. I was going to have a meeting with three other people today since we would have a discussion later. Two of them came and the third one didn't. So, I texted her and asked where she was but did she answer? Nope! She came directly to the seminar and the three of us who were in time were joking around and told her that she would be the secretary of the group...but I'm not sure if she heard about it. However, the seminar-leader didn't come, I and another gal started coming up with ideas on how we could do the work in the less time. Someone came in and said that this seminar would be post-poned a week on a day when I don't have anything to do. I would like to not even go on that day since the cancellation of today wasn't told in advance and therefore we asked the argentinian woman what her thoughts were of either doing the work today or on another day. This argentinian gal says that she would prefer to not do it today since she hadn't read all of the articles and that if she can come to the next seminar she would. Not cooperative at all! What the hell did she come to the seminar today for if she wasn't even ready to discuss? That got me really mad...and I started questioning her answers and I don't regret it at all! Okay, she started this "class" two weeks later, but that doesn't mean that we have to take her into consideration while planning, etc...she has to adjust herself to us! GRRRRRRRRRRR! I'll send a mail to the teacher now and I'll try to not work with her...if the others in my group want to work with her (which I doubt), I'm fine! I'll not work with her...I much rather prefer to work alone than with that jerk of a woman!
Wow, I had two strange dreams tonight! The first one was about blogs ( ) and the second one was about the spy satellite that USA decided to destroy in the outer space.
I've read that the spy satellite would crash and many secrets of the USA government would be revealed which is the reason to why they've decided to destroy it in the outer atmostphere. However, in my dream, altough the news said that it had been destroyed it hadn't...it crashed! It crashed in Hollywood and a tremendeous fire broke out...it made the temperature around the world rise and the fire was spreading with a very high velocity. It would reach Sweden within 50 minutes. I packed a couple of things in a bag, called my mum and asked her to get ready since we had to move up north and try to reach Arktis a.s.a.p. But she was all teared down and I had to take care of her things as well. The food I packed down was eaten at the same moment by her (she had by now transformed to a little girl).... I was stressed and received a call from a friend to the family who said that he could drive us to Arktis and I welcomed his offer since I thought it to be better than me driving a car withoug a driving license. But no, we missed him and had to pay 50 SEK/Bs to take a bus which we thought would take us to the North pole..but it just drove us about 1 km and then we had to start climbing a hill. What a horrible dream!
I'm off now and I'll be busy from 10-19! I just hope I have a good day!
Three years ago my elementary school class had a reunion that wasn't meant to be filled with tears but destiny couldn't be changed. I found this picture stored in my mail box and I remember that back then, at Alex' funeral we told ourselves to keep smiling cause that would have been what Alex wanted. Alex, you are always with us. /// Mizz Martínez
OMG! I asked Marcus if he knew of any chick-flicks that he could recommend, and he told me to watch 'Hairspray'. At the beginning of the movie it didn't seem to be a good one...but then I saw Zac Efron. Wow, he is sooooo hot! Girls, watch at this pictures...don't you agree with me? Isn't he a hottie? Boys, do you agree with me as well? Apart from him, the movie does bring up an important subject of US-history. The racism that was spread in the 60s. It was so annoying to see a rope in the dancehall separating the whites from the blacks. We could think that those were the days, but racism and segregetation does exist in our days as well. Even though time has changed, some social problems continue to be in our world. We should fight together against it.
Do you know what I've been doing the whole evening? I've been scanning pictures of myself and of my life. I'll add them soon to my photo albums!
Today is the second semifinal of the Swedish version of Eurovision Song Contest. I really don't have any idea of how the songs are...but I know who will go to the final in Globen within 4 weeks. It's a pity that the most known artists go to the final while others have to stand behind and keep smiling. Anyways, you wanna watch the semifinal of today? Press here and 'once you are at the website you have to choose what kind of player you want to have; either Windows or Real Player...twice! And then you'll be able to view the show!'
My elementary school class consisted of 19 students, tonight 11 of us met. It was the most precious time I've spent with them since the death of one of our classmates. It's interesting to see how much our destinies have changed and how little we have changed. We all look like we did 6 years ago. The first three years after our graduation we had reunions several times per year but since the funeral of the clown of our class we haven't had more reunions. This was hopefully the first of many that will come!
In the afternoon I met Mona, one of my high school friends. She is the only one from my closests friends that I know of that actually reads my blog... but she does so just because she is so damm curious.
