FUIS organized a dinner yesterday. It went well even though there were different points of views on how things should be handled. In the end it was perfect. Because of the alcohol perhaps? I would say because of a lot of NICE people. A lot of food. People mingling before dinner. People still mingling... Me, Carlos and Wen. True friends! FOOD! Group-picture. Awards for best custome of the evening. Johanna won. You know who she dressed up to be? (Hint: Mexico) Goran was working hard with PR. Here is Kent with the highest prize, a tequila bottle. It entered the body of three people; Kent himself, Johanna the winner, and me - the boss. Wen and Kent dancing and posing. People chatting and having a nice time Me and Staffan. After eight tequila-shots, six beers, two glasses of wine, two liquorece shots (the consumption of the three of us) we were simply...feeling...GOOD! Looooovely picture! I had a very nice evening on Friday. When I look through my pictures, I get a smile on my face. When I think of how I got a free shot from the bartender because of how the dinner had turned to be a great party, and when I think of many other little events that took place yesterday, I get a smile on my face all over again.
Btw, what is wrong with Opera? I can't upload pictures here.
I'm really satisfied with the dinner that I made earlier today (Monday). We didn't have much at home so I started to look for recipes on the net and when I arrived at Tasteline (Swedish recipe-page) I found something that fitted perfectly for today and tomorrow. The necessary ingredients were: Rice Chicken Some vegetables Homemade Sweet-Sour sauce
The part that was surprising was that everything, exactly everything, had a wonderful smell and taste. Oh, btw, it's an Indian plate and if you didn't know I really like Indian dishes, that's why I want to travel to India and visit one of the people who, although I've never met IRL, has coloured my heart with spices for life [Hitesha, =)]
I've been quite busy this week…first of all it was school and I was quite stressed because of homeworks and labs now that I'm back in the game, and the lab (on Wendsday) wasn't as difficult as I had imagined. On Wendsday I slept over at my friend Nisse's place. Here is Nisse playing the violin for me. Isn’t it cute? →
The cause to why I slept at his place? I had to be at the student union to make over 400 sandwiches with other students at 6 a.m. I worked from 6-17 in UTNARM and then tried to relax in the student union before the banquet that started at 19 p.m. I had so much time that started to change to my beautiful pink dress just 30 minutes before I had to be at Norrlands nation, and before I knew of it I had to leave the student union…I rode the bike and got to the place. We entered the banquet and had to wait over one hour to get served the dinner…during that time we started to talk with our table neighbours However, when only 30 minutes had passed I decided to go to the ladies room, I took the stairs down…and there, at the entrance I see a guy that I had met previously during the day (my kind of guy; he is talkative and REALLY good-looking), he waves to me, I wave back to him and right in the middle of my wave I slip and luckely I didn't fall…he giggled…and me too. In the ladies room I see that one shoe-heel is broken, and this is so typical me! Ask me how many shoe heels I've destroyed during my life! During dinner I met many students from other technological universities, and we exchanged experiences. There was a lot of entertainment during dinner and you can view them → here, here and here. I was so stressed at the same time as the dinner was taking place because I wanted to take the train that left Uppsala at 22.09 otherwise I would have to wait one hour more for the last train to Stockholm and I had an important meeting the next day at 9 a.m. I managed to take the train I had planned to take, I managed to get sober til I got home. It was a good day and I still laugh at my slip in the stairs. I will definitely become more involved in student things at the U.
Yesterday I worked in the afternoon-evening, and today I've been at work too from 6.45 til 15. Now I'm finally back at home and can relax…although I just remembered that I have a pile of homework to finnish first…and then I really need to sleep…oh, I was forgetting, I also need to do my laundry. I need more time…Time to live!
Hi folks! I'm really hungry right now! We will eat our brunch soon... However I'll tell you a little bit about my evening...nothing special happened, but here we go!
Yesterday was my last day in my internship, and Mario (one of the engineers in the company, who btw is moving to the same neighbourhood as where I live) gave me a lift home! When I was going to Wen (by train and bus ) the weather was changing all the time! First the sun was shining, afterwards a thunderstorm came...then the sun came out again...So strange!! There are severe problems w/ our climate, and we should seriously do something about it!
Wen, me and my dog (Muneco) went to the shop and bought some junk-food and rented a movie (She's a man)...back at Wen's place we ate dinner (dumblings w/ rise and ketchup...have you tried it? Tastyyyy (although Wen thinks I'm crazy I love to it that way!)) The movie was good...afterwards we started watching "In her shoes"...an oki-movie...but not more than that! We couldn't watch the four movies we've planed for...we went to sleep after 2 and a half!
The brunch is done now...and we will eat! I have to end this blog otherwise Wen will start yelling at me! We will continue our day by watching more movies! See you around blokes! /// Mizz Martínez
Me and Wen took a walk in our beautiful city yesterday...and if you didn't know it was the birthday of Daniel Radcliffe. He turned 18 yesterday and we came to the conclusion that he is 32 millions times hotter now than what he was the day before!
We went through the area where the expensive appartments of Sthlm are situated (Hammarby Sjöstad)...and came to our final destination: a circular bridge! Afterwards we wanted to go to drink coffee but when we arrived to the place it was already closed! So we decided to go to Lisa's fathers place and eat dinner over there instead. While we were walking to her father's house we were singing and yelling at the highest possible decibel-level, when a car comes after us! And who is it? Martin! At the same time as we ate our dinner we watched a Swedish movie called "Ida/Sandor"! Quite a good day yesterday!
