Mizz Martínez

is having the time of her life...and enjoying Bolivia to the fullest! (NEW post + pics)

My day...today!

I finished my essay at 6 in the morning. By the time my mother woke up, I was getting to bed. I thought that I would sleep only 30 minutes, take a shower, take a walk with Muñeco and then get to school which would start at 9. My mom told me to get up several times (and it's usually the other way around) but I didn't. She called me 9.20 to ask me where I was. That was when I finally woke up. I was late! :insane: I got to class one hour later. I got there in time to tell the others about my essay and then we had a two hours break  Daniel and I sat in the sun for more than half an hour, trying to catch up with the weather. Neither of us had had much sleep and we were just babbling about the atmosphere in the class. While sunbathing I took a few shots of my food, and of us of course. What do you think? p:

In the first picture Daniel looks all goofy while I look sexy. In the second one Daniel looks okay but I look goofy instead. Can you see the different sizes of my eyes? Let me tell you that it's the sun's fault! What to do, right? I'd better put both of them up! p:

Afterwards our classes continued and for the first time in a long while the 'boring' pragmatics course went by really fast. When heading out of U we saw a couple of people who are recruiting other students to work from time to time. These people were handing out fruit-juices and so we stayed a bit to chat and finally get them. I expected to get one..I got three! :headbang:

When I finally got home I got hold on the letter I've been expecting since Monday. My goodie-bag from MyOpera was in the post-office waiting for me!

Do you know what the black thingy in the right upper corner is for? I've got no clue.

I haven't slept more than the three hours I mentioned above. Just had dinner, I'll take a shower and then start to do some more homework. This coming week will be a living hell, study-wise...but after the 16th I won't have any classes but only a test on the 30th. I'm trying to get some extra job during those days and the days before we travel to Bolivia.. :right: Good luck with that! :irked: It's so hard to get an extra job for this period only. :faint: And I need money so badly...otherwise I won't be able to travel to neither Paraguay nor Brazil.

The black thing looks like a beer cooler

Does a can or bottle fit into it?

Cool goodies - you deserve them

The shirt is just awesome Casey! It says in the fron as you can see: "My Opera Community", on the back it says: "my.opera.com" and on the left arm: "Opera software". I want to wear it every single day...but I'll have to remind myself to wash it from time to time! p:

No Rippsy, a can doesn't fit in the black thingy. But a small bottle would...perhaps, although I doubt it. I would say that it's perhaps a holder for the mobile phone. It says after all: "Surf the lightning" so it has to be a mobile holder..right?

Thanks Kimmie. There's a wonderful sticker that says: "There's an Opera in my laptop" I loooove that sticker. But I don't know if I want to put it on my looooovely Macie. I'll think about it! Have you won anything Kimmie? Or was it Mik who did it? And what did you/he win the goodies for?

I like the sticker on there that says: "Opera- so fast you'll crap your pants."

I am pretty sure that is a bottle or can cooler. It is hard to tell the actual size since there is no reference point... maybe you could hold it up against your naked chest  YES THAT WAS A JOKE!!! I just couldnt resist

put your phone in it and take a picture of it; does your phone fit? Please tell me you do not have one of those giant 1990's cell phones

I seriously think it is a bottle holder or can holder. YES, I have a lot of experience with them

By ripp2002, # 8. May 2008, 21:04:34

MizzM, I do work in an office, so you were pretty close. I answer the phone, write e-mails, data entry, and clean the office amongst other things.

By dragon_harrower, # 9. May 2008, 00:59:17

avatar
 I dont get where you "pulled out" only on Christmas from that... I am thinking you need another method

As for being unloved, she will be ok

By ripp2002, # 9. May 2008, 01:06:18

 From the "Christmas bonus" comment. Homer: Doh! I just got the other implication of "pulled out" and I really wished that I hadn't!

My mobile fits perfectly in the thingy. But I sincerely don't think that a can nor a bottle would fit in. The bottom part is far too small compared with the upper part. And no Ripp, I don't have a similar phone from the 90s as the one you are currently using. I have SonyEricsson S500i

José...I don't think so. :right:

What exactly do you want Clintan? :eyes:

 @ Mauricio!

With these items you'll be able to rule the world!... uhm... no that was... oh never mind! :D

The fact that you got this now, makes me hoping again!

By Schalandra, # 9. May 2008, 11:28:21

avatar
 A chosen one? Well, yeah..I am! p:

Did you compete Schalandra?

By MizzMartinez, # 9. May 2008, 12:47:33

avatar
Sure I did... I'm a proud Opera addict since version 3!

Always bought my newest version til 8.5... and always spreaded the word of Opera since then. So it was no question that I just had to compete for an Opera pen!

But no pen so far... :wait:

Opera on my concole (Wii) and mobile phone go without saying.

By Schalandra, # 9. May 2008, 14:12:33

avatar
I'm a proud Opera addict
:eyes: ME TOO!

I don't understand how and what exactly you've bought. The newest version?

You'll get a pen soon! I just know it! p:

Opera RULEZ! :headbang:

By MizzMartinez, # 9. May 2008, 14:52:52

Don't you remember that Opera wasn't free software? From version 5 on you could chose to have a banner or buy a full version without ads. that lastet til version 8.5, when Opera decided that the desktop browser should be free. And before version 5 there wasn't even an "ads-version" available.

I think I bought version 4,5,6,7 and 8. One of those - I think it was version 8 - I even bought for Windows and Linux, though I think I no longer have any proof of it.

By Schalandra, # 9. May 2008, 15:16:39

avatar
I've been here for a year and a couple of months only. I had NO clue about Opera not being a free software. When did it become it? :eyes:

By MizzMartinez, # 9. May 2008, 15:25:21

avatar
20. September 2005
(the german wikipedia is far more advanced concerning Opera)

By Schalandra, # 9. May 2008, 15:36:16

avatar
WOW! :eyes: I had no idea!

I'm pretty sure that the germans like Opera the most and have been with Opera for the longest and therefore the german wikipedia is filled with more info about our beloved Opera! p:

Do you remember how that day was? the 20th of September 2005? I mean, it must have been a big day. I would have been so angry if I would have payed for the software one day/one week before the release of the free version. p:

Congrats, Kerstin! Nice goodies!!!! I am jealous of youuuuuuuuuuuuu!

Look... is that black thing a case for glasses?... No other ideas...No... Or thermos... to keep your mug of tea hot.... or....
WHAT`S THAT????????

I pretty sure that the german Opera community was the biggest at release 8 worldwide and even outnumbered the US. I don't know how it is today, but I guess there are still many.

I was a bit sad, as I liked the integrated banner very much. It was a bit like a weird way to communicate with other Opera users. I was even thinking about buying some banners myself for a private project.

By Schalandra, # 9. May 2008, 18:11:37

avatar
You don't have to be jealous of me Olga. You'll win a competition soon! I just know it!

I saw that, according to some people in this community, it is supposed to be a beer-cooler. I just don't know how it would work! :faint:

Schalandra, could you explain to me what a banner is? How does an integrated banner work?

By MizzMartinez, # 9. May 2008, 18:20:24

avatar
Well... a beer cooler is an easy thing: Put a cold bottle or can of beer in it and then drink the beer. The beer cooler makes sure your cold beer stays cold for a longer time.

A banner is a graphical advertisement usually placed on webpages ("Click here and win a golden coconut!").
An integrated banner isn't placed on the webpage but inside the program itself. That's not totally unusual, but very rare these days.

By Schalandra, # 9. May 2008, 18:31:36

avatar
But a can doesn't fit in...and not a bottle either! :faint:

Okay, now I get the banner-thingy a bit better! Thanks for explaining! You work with computers? p:

Kerst, look! There is a memo... but I can`t read it.. it is really something for beer...

By Olgita, # 9. May 2008, 19:36:45

avatar
Yeah...I know! I zoomed this picture and it says on the letter from Espen that it's supposed to be for beers. But I find it strange...oh well. Since I don't drink much beer I'll just keep my beloved phone in there!

By MizzMartinez, # 9. May 2008, 19:42:57

So you just invented the worlds first mobile phone cooler! :D

This is for Ripp: see here http://my.opera.com/LorenzoCelsi/blog/2008/05/10/new-government
Our economy can be collapsing, mafia controlling half of the country, everything getting shit but at least you can't really get mad at these girls
There are also naked pictures of the brunette who once was in the show business and made some calendars.

On a side note, Opera white logos look a little... outdated? Looks like something from Iron Maiden or such.
