Regret nothing

Piece Of Her

, , , , , , , , , ,

There's a lot of talk about Britney being a good mother or not, a good person or not. Why do papers and magazines care so much for destroying poor Britney's life? Yes, she is a celebrity but doesn't she have the right to a private life? She made a good song recently and you can view/hear here. :headbang:
I don't even care what Britney does in her spare-time, but I really dislike the efforts of people to dislike her. She is just a celebrity AND a human being who will soon or later crack! :frown:

Unfortunately, some people are only happy when they are criticising others. I suppose what I am trying to say is that some people feel the need to criticise others to make themselves feel better.

Sadly, being a celebrity makes her an easy target for criticism since so much of her personal life is caught by the paparazzi. No mistake goes unseen. :frown:

K C N Martínez 21. December 2007, 10:14

True Moe. To criticize others usually puts each person's actions in a better shade/light..but they usually have a lot more things they've done that are worse! The criticizers try to show 'the good' part of themselves, As if it would do any difference!

Moesring 21. December 2007, 10:17

Personally, I think it is an insecurity issue. They already feel insecure and then they are reminded that there are others doing better than they are. I could even say it is a warped version of jealousy.

Whatever their reasons, they are still hypocrites.

K C N Martínez 21. December 2007, 10:21

YES, hypocrites! :frown: I agree completely with you!

I think it is an insecurity issue...I could even say it is a warped version of jealousy.

Jealousy is mostly (if not always) a sign of insecurity! But a good description of human beings' behavior!

Lorenzo Celsi 21. December 2007, 10:22

You are forgetting the same goes to become a celebrity. The more you are photographed and put on magazines and the more famous you get, you sell whatever product you want to sell (music, fashion, gadgets, etc). It is widely known "celebrities" often build scandals on purpose when the media are not focused on them any more. I could also say most of "celebrities" are actually marketing products, being built by the majors with well planned marketing campaigns.

Again, I don't feel sorry for poor Britney who without the media would probably be a chashier in WalMart.

Moesring 21. December 2007, 10:23

Jealousy is mostly (if not always) a sign of insecurity!

Psychology never was my strong point. P:
Artificial Intelligence on the other hand... :D

K C N Martínez 21. December 2007, 10:27

Lorenzo: I'm not telling that without the magazines many celebrities would not have achieved their goals in life. What I'm trying to say is that people (not celebrities nor reporters) build some sort of hate against them...Even though the celebrities haven't done a thing against them.

Moe: Artificial Intelligence? Hmmm... Tell me what you know!

Lorenzo Celsi 21. December 2007, 10:56

Kerstin, have you ever thought those "celebrities" build up scandals on purpose to be present on the news that would have ignored them otherwise?
Have you ever thought the press often writes about a "celebrity" because the major is paying them for the advertisement or just because the major is putting pressure on them?
For some strage reasons the "celebrities" who don't have any problem with their careers don't usually show much on newpapers, besides the usual promotions.
Behind a "celebrity" there is an industry and a lot of payed people who push a product by any possible means.
The buttons you can push in that business are always the same, sex scandals, drugs, alchool. Women being bitches, men being arrested for some violent behaviour.
I can think of a couple of examples when careers were saved or built by sex videos distributed over the Internet...

If you aren't a famous good guy you can try to be a famous bad guy. The only important thing here is "famous".

Lorenzo Celsi 21. December 2007, 12:02

Besides, here is somebody who thinks the same as you:

Many so called celebrities have private lives. They maintain these private lives by choosing not to share them with us, the public, through magazines, tv and radio. If an individual chooses to share any details of their lives with us, for whatever reason, they lose the right to have that tap turned off and on at their bidding. I would know nothing of the lives of Britney, Kerry Katona and others if they had not chosen to tell me. If a football player earning 5 million pounds per year decides to sell pictures of their home and a few juicy stories to Hello for 20,000 or however much, that is simple greed and they deserve no sympathy when the cameras are turned on them for what they would term the wrong reasons.

Aadil 21. December 2007, 14:46

There are two valid arguements here.

1.) The right to privacy is an inherent human right. Thus any person, regardless if they are famous or not has an inherent right to a private life.

2.) When a person voluntarily enter's into the public eye, that person has, of there own choosing, relinquished there right to privacy and thus can no longer claim said right.

No prize for guessing which arguement is popular with the paparazzi.

K C N Martínez 21. December 2007, 15:07

Hey Lorenzo, that guy on youtube is completely out of his senses..:frown: I don't get which part of my above reply you didn't get dear friend. I supported completely your answer that most celebrities build their carriers thanks to the help of propaganda because of scandals, etc. What I think is wrong is that people (not celebrities) criticize them without reason.

Thanks for your comments Qlue and Delaneyireland! :D

Lorenzo Celsi 21. December 2007, 15:44

If it wasn't for the gossip nobody would talk of Britney.
"Leave Britney alone" means the very end of her dropping career, once people aren't interested in her as "product" any more.
Do you think it is difficult to find some other fatty "ex-rebel-teenager-singer-dancer-perfomer"?
You don't make her any favour taking away the paparazzi and the lights from her.

People don't criticize without a reason. People are stupid. If they weren't stupid Briney (like most people in the show business) wouldn't be rich. You must be stupid to pay for advertisement, lies and expensive crap. The gossip is just part of the game.

Aadil 21. December 2007, 16:12

2.50Twelve 21. December 2007, 18:57

I presume the "people are stupid" comment does not include any of us. If people have a reasoned argument for their critisism then surely by definition they are intelligent, not stupid. While saying this I agree with many parts of your argument, just not the generalizations.

Lorenzo Celsi 21. December 2007, 19:13

You are generalizing.

K C N Martínez 21. December 2007, 21:26

Cmon Lorenzo! Why do you have to be so negative?

Keilarina 21. December 2007, 21:35

best wishesss:)

Lorenzo Celsi 21. December 2007, 22:36

I don't see any "negative" here.
All I've said not only is true but it is pretty obvious.

What is "negative"?
Whatever doesn't fit in the world of the Smurf?

its more then that media will exploit anything negative because it makes them more money. They do not care about the peoples lives, countries or anything else they ruin to make their trillions of dollars.

Merry Christmas! Time of peace...

Human being sometimes thinks that have no choice. But we make our choice in every second of our life. Now is cause and then is result.

Martin Ouellette 22. December 2007, 06:40

hasn't she "cracked" already

merry christmas

Aadil 22. December 2007, 07:33

If you've read the headlines you'll hear how bad her childhood was so I'd say she cracked years ago and he she had had better parenting then she might have been a doctor or a lawyer or something usefull like a politician.:sarcastic grin:

Ice Ardor 22. December 2007, 08:14

Have a wonderful merry Christmas!

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a cool yule, from here in the U.K.!!!

Dan Alexandru 22. December 2007, 10:28

a human being who will soon or later crack!

Now that's very pessimistic. Plenty of people never "crack" and I'm sure some of them can't even understand why fellow beings do.

I really dislike the efforts of people to dislike her

It's impossible to detect when one's subjective opinions are powered by their coordinated efforts to dislike. To assume this means that any answers to the question "Why do papers and magazines care so much for destroying poor Britney's life?" will be flawed.

The point is that no-one is beyond criticism, as can be proven by the comments. The right to freedom of opinion and expression is an universal human right.
Having agreed that, we have a court's decision that lawfully evaluated her as a mother, and we have everyone's opinion about her music and life.

Merry Christmas, Mizz Martínez!

Sarah 22. December 2007, 10:44

Christy 23. December 2007, 01:45

There are a lot of child stars that have trouble making it because the press hounds them too much and they are surrounded by so much money, drugs, etc.

Just like Diana, Princess of Wales, the press helped her, but ultimately killed her by hounding her every second of every day and following her every move.

We need to just let people have some privacy. Everyone deserves that. Even the ones in the public eye. Britney did go crazy from too much stress constantly being thrown at her. I think many of us would. I can't imagine living in a fishbowl.

K C N Martínez 23. December 2007, 02:07

Agree completely with you Greathoneybear!

Christy 23. December 2007, 05:41

Love your avatar.

Aadil 23. December 2007, 08:36

If people didn't buy tabloids that hound stars, tabloids wouldn't hound stars in the first place. some publications will print anything as long as people keep buying them.

Lorenzo Celsi 23. December 2007, 09:04

It is a little different. Stars don't exist without "tabloids" and without people who buy and read tabloids.
Most stars are completely built by some marketing staff via the media.
The problem is it is difficult to keep people focused on somebody who don't have any real talent.
It is different to be the Rollling Stones who still play rock and roll at 60 or member of one of those trashy boy bands that last a couple of years.
I say it again, nobody whould talk about Britney if it was only for her songs.

About privacy: here in my country every now and then some newspaper publishes recorded phone calls from some politician. Those recordings in theory should be made only by the police and kept secret until there is a crime and it was judged by a court. So there are a lot of discussions if the news should be allowed to publish those things or not. On the other side in the recordings there are the evidences of how things actually work behind the scenes. For example if the president of the party X calls the chief of a state company to ask him to hire the girlfriend of a friend and such.

K C N Martínez 23. December 2007, 09:07

Thanks Greathoneybear! It's my doggie!

Aadil 23. December 2007, 09:22

Imagine trying to make a living based entirely on how well known you are. Sometimes its better to be paid for what you do than for who you are.
