Generations meet

, , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

I went on my daily afternoon walk with Muñeco for more than an hour ago and we met Muñeco's dog-friends and their owners. We all (the owners) belong to different generations but we can have such great conversations. It's wonderful to despise all, stupid, kids who like to fire crackers and play with fireworks from early December to late January. The problem is that we are all worried by the upcoming crackers and fireworks (with the celebrations of the New Year, etc) since our dogs suffer a lot, they freak out since they become completely stressed and that is not good for them! Poor babies...awww:heart:

Here you can see Muñeco, a little bit of Vera (to the left of Muñeco) and Vilma:
Winter in Sweden is as the following picture, first it snows and everything feels all winterly...but less than two days later the snow has melted and the autumn-feeling you thought was gone is back! :o:

Personally, I prefer snow :D .
Fireworks really agitate me also, people are setting them off here from late October to mid-January, and it frightens all the animals :frown:

I prefer snow [] than sleet [] :D

Fireworks, I really hate them now that I have a little life (Muñeco) to take care of. I really hope we travel to the country-side over New Year, to a place far far away from the horrible sounds! When I was younger I loved fireworks..but only to watch them, never the actual sound.

Have they already started with the fireworks where you live Kimmie? :worried:

By MizzMartinez, # 21. November 2007, 18:05:18

avatar
Oh yes, they started about a month ago  .
I hope you and your dog will be able to get away from it - it's horrible for animals to deal with.

It must suck! :ko: Do some kind of rules exist for fireworks over there in the UK? g.e. some age-limit to buy them?

By MizzMartinez, # 21. November 2007, 18:24:25

avatar
Yeah, you gotta be 18, and all loud noises are supposed to stop by 11pm.

By Spaggyj, # 21. November 2007, 19:51:05

avatar
But they don't right? :worried: This world is getting ! :ko:

We have the age limit here too, 18...but I've never heard of a no-noises-rule after a specific time! :frown: Even though there is this age limit, people under it play with them all of the time...but they haven't started with the annoying noises yet...but it will soon arrive! :frown:

When Courtney Love hears a bang sound she literally tries to destroy the door in order to get inside the house :worried:

By dannii, # 21. November 2007, 21:48:27

avatar
Ehum...If I remember correctly you are older than us...and this is an important thing to complain about...how is it for Courtney Love during the New Year-celebrations? :worried:

By MizzMartinez, # 21. November 2007, 21:49:04

avatar
Hard, she freaks out, but still she is a dog, it would be different for a child. Dogs are domesticated animals.

Same here - kids play with fireworks all the time.
Sometimes people stop by 11pm, usually not, though.
Personally I think they should be banned. They're so dangerous, people, animals get hurt, buildings get damaged...
And for what? A loud noise and coloured flashes.

By Spaggyj, # 22. November 2007, 08:05:35

avatar
Exactly,

I think they should be banned

too!

I know that i might sound evil...but I would  to read in the news about a big explotion where many people have been injured because of the crackers and fireworks!

I found a person who likes snow too!!! Spaggyj!!! :D ops, actually I can't say I prefer snow, because I've never touched it.. hehehe but I like cold. (Is that the same?) hehe

Kerstin about the Generations! I don't know you, but I enjoy talking to older people, they tell us very interesting things.

You've never touched snow...? :frown: .
If you like the cold, you'd LOVE snow.

By Spaggyj, # 23. November 2007, 13:52:51

That's what I think  Here in the South of Brazil, we have cold weather, and even frost at mornings, but not snow. My mother told me that some years ago before I was born, it snowed here in my town.

By decaspecht, # 23. November 2007, 14:08:21

avatar
Oh, I want to ask you a question: - Why do you prefer the cold weather?

By decaspecht, # 23. November 2007, 14:08:47

avatar
Because if it's hot, you sweat, are uncomfortable, and you can only take so much off before you're naked, and even then sometimes it's still too hot.
In the cold you can wrap up warm and toasty if you feel like it, plus it's rejuvenating.

Hehehe  I make your words mine. It's so good to sleep when it's cold. The bed looks more cozy.

By decaspecht, # 23. November 2007, 14:18:23

avatar
Exactly! A cold bed is sooo good!

The only problem when I go to talk to my grandma.. she's the only one to talk. And at some point, she says: Oh you're so quiet.. hehehehe

 I was really close to my grandmother...I am the youngest amongst my maternal relatives and she was in the same situation as me when she was young, the youngest of everybody else...So we spent a lot of time together, specially before she died! She told ME about her life...about her suffering and about her concerns...I was the one who got to know her history while her own kids, amongst them my mother, didn't know! I'm really proud of that...that's why I have my tattoo...to always remember her and her pacience...you know, she was the one who taught me how to walk!
