Theme Samples

,

All of Moesring's favourite blog themes in one semi-convenient place

Those who rued never seeing Moesring's hideous Green theme are in luck. :hat:

Over the past few days, Moesring has been updating the Sleepwalker sample pages to show all the themes that Moesring has created on one single page, as well as the best themes Moesring has found on My Opera.

Of course, this list is definitely not extensive. There are undoubtedly many more themes out there that Moesring has yet to discover. Anyone that knows of a good theme - whether it is their own or not - is welcome to send Moesring a PM about it.

The best bit about this test page is that it even works on Opera Mini 4 so phonies are not left out.
:sst: And, of course, there is the "You get to see how the theme looks in your browser instead of relying on pictures others have taken, possibly in different browsers"-advantage. :D

The start page is http://files.myopera.com/Moesring/CSS/Sample/Blog.htm, and the default theme is Minstrels - which is much better than Green as the default theme. P:
:sst: Some browsers may need to view a theme twice (as in, select the theme, choose a different one and then return to the first theme - Opera Mini 4 seems to need this, I find) for all the pictures to fully load.

That's , but for some reason Green won't open in Opera (not mine, anyway).
I had to check it Safari...

Is it just me, or has "green" turned brown?

rose-marie 31. July 2008, 19:19

It's just you.

p:

I just checked it in Firefox, and it's green there too.

attilasoul 31. July 2008, 19:28

Mean Rose! You should have told me about the drop-down box! :irked:

rose-marie 31. July 2008, 19:32

Oh... Sorry. I didn't know...

Green worked fine for me when I just retested it in Opera 9.51 and 9.27 (but going back to Minstrels from Green in 9.27 had a few issues). Maybe it was just a fluke Rose.

You didn't notice the drop-down box Tilla? I thought it was in a fairly obvious place Homer: Doh!

attilasoul 31. July 2008, 20:26

I only noticed it the third time I was there. awww

rose-marie 31. July 2008, 21:15

It could be a fluke, but it caused Opera to crash - twice - so I did a workaround p:.

I have 9.24 on the laptop since almost none of my widgets work in the newer versions :irked:.

When you come back from your well-deserved holiday, I'd like to take a mere moment of your time Miss Nibbler. :D

In response to your complaint that it crashed Opera 9.24, I went and improved the sample page above. It now doesn't always crash IE anymore, which I suppose is an improvement. The question is, does it still crash your Opera?

:sst: Well, I was actually trying to generally improve the page rather than directly responding to the problem above. As part of the overhaul, I found an alternative method to change the CSS - a method that seems more reliable than the one I previously used. Even so, it made you special for a moment, right?

rose-marie 27. August 2008, 12:07

Yes it did :D.

I'll have to try it when I get home later tonight. I have 9.51 at work... But that didn't crash

rose-marie 27. August 2008, 18:33

It works :hat:
