Freddie Mercury



Britannico di origine persiana, raggiunse la fama internazionale come cantante del celebre e ormai mitico gruppo britannico Queen. Mercury fu autore di canzoni come Bohemian Rhapsody, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, We Are The Champions, Is This The World We Created...?, Friends Will Be Friends (scritta a quattro mani con John Deacon), Under Pressure (con il contributo di David Bowie) e molte altre, anche da solista. Mercury è morto d'AIDS, a causa di una broncopolmonite, il 24 novembre del 1991.


Freddie Mercury (born Farrokh Bulsara; 5 September 1946 – 24 November 1991) was a British musician, best known as the lead singer of the English rock band Queen (inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001). He is noted for his vocal abilities and for his live performances. As a songwriter, he composed many international hits, including "Killer Queen", "Bohemian Rhapsody", "Somebody to Love", "We Are the Champions" and "Crazy Little Thing Called Love". Mercury died from complications of AIDS, greatly heightening worldwide awareness of the disease.
