Not only North-European, actually - I forgot about the Befana or Strina... a witch who's been handing out new-year's presents to children since Roman times...

Should have remembered, since we have two of our own little witches from Benevento celebrating with us:




And yesterday I finished my Dutch Sinterklaas chocolate letter left over from the fifth of December... mmm...
