ASUU AT IT AGAIN!!!

Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has after two years of negotiation with government started an indefinite and all out strike until the government signs the agreement reached during the negotiations. Earlier ASUU NEC directed all branches to proceed with a two weeks total warning strike. The main contentious areas are funding, university autonomy, staff welfare etc. It appears there is a deadlock and government seems to be adamant. Government's nonchalant attitude to education sector has caused the nation a lot. Nigerian graduates are generally seen as half backed and not recognized internationally despite the abundant resources at the disposal of the country. In the meantime, the only thing that thrived in Nigeria is corruption which became the order of the day. Unless you are corrupt and enrich yourself illegally you do not have a say in Nigeria. What ASUU is simply saying is let's correct all the imbalances and the starting point is to fix the education sector. Please do not hesitate to give your comments on the issue.
