Drops of Water

Thoughts of Dao

Earth day connected

Chapter 1

The Tao that can be spoken is not the eternal Tao
The name that can be named is not the eternal name
The nameless is the origin of Heaven and Earth
The named is the mother of myriad things
Thus, constantly without desire, one observes its essence
Constantly with desire, one observes its manifestations
These two emerge together but differ in name
The unity is said to be the mystery
Mystery of mysteries, the door to all wonders

William Blake - Auguries of Innocence
To see a world in a grain of sand,
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Augeries of Innocence

Universe, earth, Tao

Simplicity is i think the name of this post, if i say more then it destracts from the images verses and message. But here goes  We have the multiverse, we have infinite galaxies forms of life we may never be able to label or see or touch or smell. Yet if we can see a grain of sand and know it, we can know ourselves, we can see and feel the infinite because we are all part of that grain of sand, that grain of sand is part of the earth, part of oceans on distant worlds..... We are as big as a grain of sand and as small as a grain of sand. If we can feel this conection, then we can see the whales and fish of our oceans, the gorillas and birds of our forests, the giraffes and lions of the Serengeti and know we breathe as one, that the trees we destroy for palm oil, or for soy to feed KFC chickens hurt us all the gorillas, orangutans, giraffes, whales, we are conected in nature in heavens with Eternal Tao.

I love that crab, who's clearly seen some hard times (those claw tips didn't just decide to wander off on their own *laugh*), but can still stand there and be staunch and beautiful.

Picture shamelessly stolen
