1.0.10 is out

FB guys has modified the ad scheme, once again. I released a new version that catches new ad blocks.

Please note, that Ad Cleaner from now on hides "People you may know" block.

Version 1.0.7 on the way

Since 1.3 the versioning was modified. It is now 1.0.x - style.

The changelog after 1.3 is:
1.0.7 Clean ad block in timeline profile

1.0.6 Added supports for 'adboard' link
1.0.5 Added supports for campaign 'emuca'
1.0.4 Added support for absolute links.

In 1.0.7 I added support for advertisements in Timeline profile

Facebook Ad Cleaner 1.3

Version 1.3 of the Facebook Ad Cleaner has been submitted to Opera Extensions. The new version fixes a stupid bug with ad block removal - it was removing not the block itself but it's grand-grand-parent: i.e. the whole Facebook page.

Copy-paste is the root of all evil!

Facebook Ad Cleaner v. 1.2

New version submitted.

Facebook introduced new 'pagelet_adbox' block in user profile. Version 1.2 includes recognizes the new block and hides it.

If you come across a page with ads remaining visible, please tell me the following:
1. The URL of the page where you see the ads
2. Screenshot of the page with the ads.

Internal Server Error

Today (this night, actually) I tried to upload the FacebookAdCleaner extension. It is a multi-step process - and the last step failed. Internal Server Error irked

To install the extension manually:
1. Download the .oex file from http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8978807/web/FacebookAdCleaner.oex
2. Rename it to FacebookAdCleaner.zip
3. Unzip it.
4. Drag config.xml from unzipped filed to Opera.

UPD:
The gotcha turned out to be PNG screenshot. Not a screenshot, actually - a combination of pre- and post screenshots made in GIMP and saved as PNG with alpha channel. Converted it to JPG and the extension got submitted.

Opera extension: Facebook ad cleaner

I'm working on an Opera Extension that automagically kills advertisments on the facebook pages.

The extension makes its best to kill ads as soon as possible. While killing ads it leaves other sidebar stuff intact.
