Happy Holidays From Your Dorky Opera Baker!

Since I was unable to use my computer, I decided to get some baking done. I had a lot of fun, and some of the time was actually glad my computer was out of commission because I enjoyed my time away from it so much.

I decided to bake some Gingerbread cookies the other day. I love doing that...it's so fun! I took pictures along the way, so here we go...

Here are a few raw Gingerbread cookies all ready to be shoved in the oven...


...and here they are getting all heated up in the oven...


Once I got all of them finished baking, the decorating got underway. I had SO much fun! Here's a picture of a few generic looking Gingerbread men/women...


I suddenly got an idea! :idea: I decided to decorate a cookie for each of my friends...or at least as many friends as I could with the amount of cookies I had left over. The next pictures are the result of that idea...

Here's the mother of all the other cookies. She's the Opera cookie!..


Here's Sarah's cookie (All of the girls got hearts)...


This one didn't turn out very well, but here is Alla's cookie...


Next is Jenn's cookie...


Of course, you can't have Jenn without Gabs, so here's one for Gabs as well...


The last girlie one is Kim's...


Now for the guys!

Here's Carlos' cookie...


Here's a cookie for my other friend named Carlos. He's not an Opera member, though...


Next is Nic's cookie!...


And, of course, here's Amir's...


Now we get to Charlie's cookie. I put "Bama" on it just for him :lol:...


Even the smartass, LC, got a cookie!...


Where there's one smartass, there is bound to be another...hence Dennis' cookie...


Now we get to David AKA Clean's cookie...


...and then comes Marcus...


Next is Rick's cookie...


Lastly, here is a cookie for P2...


Of course, I had to take a picture of the whole gang together...


And the very last picture is of all the cookies I made...even the generic ones...


If you don't see your name up there, please don't go getting all offended. A person can only make so many gingerbread people before they get tired out, ya' know?! I'm sorry that you guys don't get to eat them, but at least you can see that I was thinking of you. My kids will enjoy eating your cookie carcasses immensely! :lol:

I agree--I dunno why but it brought quite a bit of tears..such lil jesters mean so much to a person and even the smile and lil disign of a cookie ..and to know Someone is thinking of you....I have been so blessed with meeting who I have..and to have P2 and Karen In my life, is unbelieveable and the best feeling in the world. Karen its really flippin kewl and to see the huge group is just so freakin cute..ok i sound like a fuckin dweeb now :D Love you Karen :D :love:

Carlos - I actually did think of shipping these cookies out, but I figured that by the time they hit their destination, they'd be pretty gross and nasty looking. So the kids, Lonnie, and I have been devouring them instead. :D I love you, too, my brother from another mother! :love:


Regarding the arrangement of the cookies - I sorta arranged them in a particular way, but not really. I mean, I put Opera in the middle because she is the mother cookie...and I had to put J & Gabs close together since they are a package deal...but I didn't really give it too much thought. :wink:
