While I was browsing around the Net a little while ago, I came across this award thingy called The Crunchies. I have no idea what even led me to that page, but I'm certainly glad I found it. After reading up on it, I wrote to our dear Opera friend, Espen and asked him if he knew anything about it and if it'd be alright to nominate My.Opera for this thing. He wrote back in an impressively speedy fashion and told me that I can feel free to nominate My.Opera for it. Sooooo, I wrote back to him and told him that I will be doing that and I will also be asking all of you, my buds, to do the same! So, what do you say? Wanna band together and nominate our favorite community to win something neato? Here's what the Crunchies site says about the whole thing:

1) Nominate your favorites Nominate the companies and products you believe most deserve industry recognition for achievements made in the past year, 2008 from now through midnight, PST Wednesday, December 10. If you are a site, grab a badge to encourage your community to nominate you for a Crunchie. 2) Vote on finalists The Crunchies Committee will choose five finalist companies for each award category. Finalist voting will run Monday, December 15 through Monday, January 5 midnight PST . 3) Join the ceremony! The Awards Ceremony will take place at 7:30 pm, Friday, January 9 at the Herbst Theater across the street from City Hall in San Francisco. It's an elegant, old world theater with 900 seats that will help give the awards the air of importance we believe they deserve. General admission tickets will be released in December.

Number one is simple. Nominate the companies and products you believe most deserve industry recognition? Psssht….simple! My.Opera's got that baby in the bag!!! Number two I guess we'll just have to remember to check back anywhere from December 15th - January 5 to vote for the finalists. If enough of us pull together, I KNOW My.Opera can and will be one of the finalists!!! We can make it happen. It's up to us!!! The Force is strong in us. Yes. Number three - Uh yeah…I have no plans on going to San Francisco. I mean, I was born there and would love to go back, but unless they're footin' the bill, they can count me out. Besides, I'd rather not die in an earthquake. Anyway, let's to it, people! Feel free to copy this entire blog post if you wish and put it on your blog.
