Sickly Insomniac Random Randomness©

As the title suggests, I can't sleep, I'm feeling sickly, and here's some Random Randomness©. rolleyes

I took some of this truly disgusting Theraflu warming night time shiznit about two hours ago. Why am I still awake AND feeling like shit? irked I'm half tempted to call the people who make that junk and tell 'em what I think of their product. I would take some NyQuil since I know that junk will knock me out, but I can't now. I have to wait two more hours! MEH!

My daughter is doing so well in school...I'm so proud of her. She's actually doing so well that she was one of only three kids in here ENTIRE school to get 4 tickets to a Portland Winter Hawks game! They're a professional hockey team out of Portland...which is only like 15 minutes away from us. Well, although Lonnie, Jameson, and I are all feeling like we've been hit by Mack trucks, we weren't about to turn down a free game, so we all toughed it out and attended the game tonight. It was awesome! I had so much fun...we all did. Of course, I totally forgot my camera. rolleyes The one time I really wanted it, I didn't have it. Figures. Anyway, our team lost to Seattle by one point, but that's okay. We still had a great time and want to go again really soon. As soon as we can afford it, really.

I still feel all tripped out when I hear 'em say "President Obama" on TV. bigeyes It STILL hasn't sunken in yet.

I feel like a lazy piece of crap for not going to the gym over the past two days, but I just don't feel up to it. down I almost feel like I'm using being sick as an excuse, but is it really? I mean, it wouldn't be too wise to go work up a sweat when I'm feeling like shit, would it?

I hate hearing someone with an accent and having NO idea what kind of accent it is. It drives me totally nuts. I want to know where the person is from, but that'd just be rude to go up to them and be all, "Ummm, what nationality are you?" So, I just drive myself nuts wondering for an entire day.

I STILL need to get the pictures of Lonnie's birthday shindig posted. Some of them are hilarious...I just gotta post 'em. I'll have to do that tomorrow if I'm feeling up to it.

I don't drink beer anymore, but I noticed at the concession stand at the game earlier that they want $7 for a glass of beer! yikes Seven bucks? Screw that! If I were a beer drinker, I'd be smuggling that shiznit in.

Speaking of smuggling, they made me open my purse and flashed a flashlight in there before they let me into the game. left I hated that. There was nothing in there of interest, but still...I felt all violated and whatnot. right

I have an Optometrist appointment next week. I'm stoked! I cannot wait! I want new glasses SO badly. I already know exactly what kind I want...I just hope they'll have 'em. No matter which ones I get, I'll post a picture with me in 'em so you can see my nerdy self.

I just heard on the news that they're going nuts in Ireland. Ummm, Conor? You're not bombing shit, are you? irked You were supposed to wait for me! Seriously, though...apparently they killed a couple British soldiers. down Not cool. Can't we all just get along?

That was Rodney King, BTW...for those of you who don't know who the Hell it was.

Rodney King is on Celebrity Rehab. Evidently, after the whole police beating thing, he turned to boozin' it up and is now an alcoholic. Poor guy. down Not a fun issue to deal with...either issue, really.

I have the news playing in the background...that's why I'm jiving about current events. I should shut that junk off. I never watch/listen to it. All it does is upset me and get me all bummed out. sad I hate what the world has turned into.

I talked to my brother, John, on the phone the other night. happy It was so nice to talk with him again. I never would have thought I'd say that, but we've both grown up a lot. He's now 40 years old and I'm 35. I think it's about time to bury the hatchet...although I'm not exactly sure why there was a hatchet in the first place. I guess it was always that we were just so different that we couldn't stand each other. We've always been pretty opposite in every way. The older we get, though, the more we have in common. I suppose that was bound to happen - it just seems weird to say that I really miss my brother. We really hated each other while growin up. He lives in Arizona, but said he might be making a trip to Seattle in the relatively near future, so maybe I'll have to take a drive up there to see him. smile That'd be cool...and, of course, I will have to take pictures and post 'em. bigsmile

Lonnie's snoring. sad I'm so jealous. I wish I could sleep. I'm happy that he's sleeping, though. The poor guy's sicker than a freakin' dog.

My doctor recommended that I start on Medical Marijuana for my chronic pain issues. I'm undecided. First of all, I don't know how well it'd help kill the pain...and secondly, I don't want to gain weight from having constant munchies! When you get a Green Card (that's the little license they give you in order to have the stuff legally), you're allowed to have 8 ounces of the junk at a time. EIGHT! bigeyes Oh, and up to six plants. That's A LOT of freakin' weed. All I can think about is how hungry I'd be. I think I'd almost rather be in pain than have to fight the munchies, ya' know? I have eating disorder issues...the last thing I need is something to make me an even bigger fat-ass!

Meh...I guess I should attempt to lay down and get sleep. I already know what'll happen, though. I'll just lay there and kill enough time 'til I can take that freakin' NyQuil and FINALLY get some sleep. Insomnia totally blows. Ambien doesn't even put me to sleep! If someone like my Mom took that junk, she'd be asleep for a week! lol Having huge tolerances to meds totally blows ass. down

Yeah, so anyway...I'll be on regularly again either tomorrow or Monday. Monday for sure. I have no choice but to get work done on Monday - no matter how I feel, so I'll catch up with all of you then...if not sooner. heart

I didn't do nothing, I swear!

I wish I could bitch slap that insomina out of you, but that'd probably just keep you awake even more bigeyes

Shaunak DeShaunak Sunday, March 15, 2009 4:30:34 PM

I have trouble sleeping at night too. So I just sleep in college lectures..... p

Matthewnoah counte Sunday, March 15, 2009 4:35:47 PM

  • I wish you felt better, and I hope you sleep and feel better really soon.
  • How cool that your daughter is aces in school! I'm glad you all went to the hockey game, but I'm pretty sure that if you're going to do that regularly, you need to start calling them goals, not points.
  • Regarding illness and exercise: being in shape will help you get sick less, and get over illness faster. That said, you should definitely NOT be working out while you are sick. Your body needs to concentrate on getting better, and diverting energy will just make you sicker.
  • $7 for a beer makes me glad I drink water from a fountain. lol
  • I went to a concert, not so long ago, and they confiscated my buck knife. It never occurred to me that it would be a problem, and I miss it every danged day sad
  • Rodney King seems like a stand up guy. It's really sad what happened to him, and what he's done to himself since. It makes me sick that none of those cops have apologized.
  • News is the shiznit! Some of it's good, too!
  • Hatchet burying is good for what ails you.
  • I've never smoked pot. I know half a pound might as well be a ton. I had a friend who fought in Iraq, and he was smoking an ounce a week when he got back because the army didn't give him any assistance with his PTSD. Another friend of mine smokes what i think is a lot of weed, and he said "An ounce a week is enough to make you want to do nothing but smoke another ounce next week."

When pot smokers tell you enough is too much, it's time to cut back.

My wife had some relief from pain from pot, but she doesn't like smoking. I recommend trying it for pain relief. Just be wary of changes to your eating/exercising habits, as well as slacking off in the things you need to get done every day.
  • Sweet dreams. Feel better.

Casey²dragonharrower Sunday, March 15, 2009 7:40:35 PM

I hope you get better soon! smile

TheraFlu (actually pretty much any cold medicine) puts me out in about 30 minutes. sad In a way it's good, but it sucks because I have to suffer through most of the day without it. sad

I can't wait to see your new glasses! yes

Mad Scientistqlue Sunday, March 22, 2009 1:00:38 PM

Steep it for two weeks an a half lack of Gordon's. :hint:.

Uncle MickMickeyjoe-Irl Sunday, March 22, 2009 9:13:39 PM

I'm sure most people wouldn't mind if you said something like

Your accent is really cool/interesting. Where are you from?

I get asked a lot. Most Irish folk think it's American rolleyes but I've had guesses like Australian, Northern Irish, and South African confused

MConor Sunday, March 22, 2009 9:45:27 PM

lol Northern Irish accent is so funny lol

KarenNerak Monday, March 23, 2009 8:36:24 AM

Wow. bigeyes How the heck did I not get an alert for my OWN blog?! I didn't see all of these comments 'til right now! irked

I'm sorry, everyone! You all must think I'm a total bitch for not replying to your well wishes and everything. sad If I don't get an alert for my stuff, I don't check it.

Anyway, thank you to everyone who wished me better! Your wishin' worked...I feel as healthy as a horse. A healthy horse, that is. p

love

Matthewnoah counte Monday, March 23, 2009 10:46:09 AM

I feel kind of special, because I have Alerts that are so secret, I'm not allowed to see them. There are two new items in my top bar, and when I click on them there is nothing in my subscriptions. It's been like that for days. I can't make 'em go away.

MConor Monday, March 23, 2009 12:53:30 PM

Wait until you get one and then mark all as read

KarenNerak Monday, March 23, 2009 3:22:20 PM

Mine is like that, too, Matthew. I only have one, though. left

Casey²dragonharrower Monday, March 23, 2009 5:48:52 PM

I have 3 of the little bastards. irked

KarenNerak Monday, March 23, 2009 6:21:23 PM

doh It's a conspiracy!

MConor Monday, March 23, 2009 7:07:22 PM

I had them as well. Just wait until you have an alert. Make sure you know which blog it is, and then mark all as read. Then its gone.

Matthewnoah counte Monday, March 23, 2009 7:50:25 PM

Brilliant.

I unsubscribed from one of my own photos while trying to make that notice go away, and now I can't get it back doh

Casey²dragonharrower Monday, March 23, 2009 7:57:21 PM

I got rid of the notices, now hopefully I didn't get rid of something important. lol

MConor Monday, March 23, 2009 8:04:47 PM

lol

KarenNerak Monday, March 23, 2009 9:01:50 PM

Pretty bad when you have to figure little tricks out just to get things to function properly. left

MConor Monday, March 23, 2009 9:03:30 PM

Yep =/

Dacotah Tuesday, March 24, 2009 12:28:19 AM

Matthew, it's a bug from the latest update. To get rid of it I have to go to the last watch look at the comments than back arrow to the subscriptions and mark all is read. It does not remove photo watches either so I have to mark all is read to get rid of that one too after all my other watches are caught up. smile

Dacotah Tuesday, March 24, 2009 12:29:01 AM

Oops, just saw Conor's comment. bigsmile

KarenNerak Tuesday, March 24, 2009 12:47:18 AM

lol

Matthewnoah counte Tuesday, March 24, 2009 2:07:00 AM

It's ok - I fixed it twice wink Thanks for the help, all. I kew it was a bug. It just never occured to me to fix it that way.

Dacotah Tuesday, March 24, 2009 4:30:13 AM

lol

You're too smart for your own good, Matthew. Sometimes you need to think of the obvious! p

MConor Tuesday, March 24, 2009 9:00:11 PM

lol

Matthewnoah counte Wednesday, March 25, 2009 11:58:16 AM

Too smart is often worse than stupid.

MConor Wednesday, March 25, 2009 3:39:16 PM

True. up

KarenNerak Wednesday, March 25, 2009 10:54:02 PM

I'd rather be too smart rather than too stupid, though.

Matthewnoah counte Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:24:19 AM

Too stupid is where you are cleaning a gun, and shoot yourself. Too smart is where you get shot by some sensitive soul with no sense of humor.

KarenNerak Thursday, March 26, 2009 12:28:20 AM

Either way, you're dead. So does it really matter what your IQ is?

Matthewnoah counte Thursday, March 26, 2009 1:01:15 AM

Nope. It sure doesn't. Except, maybe, two or more standard deviations in either direction.

KarenNerak Thursday, March 26, 2009 1:10:46 AM

Yeah...sure...left...what you said! right

MConor Thursday, March 26, 2009 4:58:28 PM

lol That ACTUALLY happened here lol Or something like it. Apparently ( this was on the news ) a crime lord in Limerick ( STAY AWAY FROM LIMERICK ) was showing his men how to shoot a person. Then he showed them how to shoot a person in the head, and used himself as the dummy lol

Casey²dragonharrower Thursday, March 26, 2009 5:10:30 PM

lol I'm sorry, but that is kind of funny.

MConor Thursday, March 26, 2009 5:52:36 PM

Exactly! lol I heard it on the radio and I almost started crying I was laughing so hard lol

Matthewnoah counte Thursday, March 26, 2009 6:10:15 PM

A crime lord who hailed from Limerick
decided to teach his crew a new trick
gun to his head
he ended up dead
no one cried though - he was such a prick

MConor Thursday, March 26, 2009 6:11:47 PM

yes Now thats a Limerick for ya! The japanese can keep there haikus!

Matthewnoah counte Thursday, March 26, 2009 6:15:01 PM

There aren't enough limericks about Limerick. Or stupid crime bosses.

Casey²dragonharrower Thursday, March 26, 2009 6:15:18 PM

Nice addition, Matt! lol

MConor Thursday, March 26, 2009 6:17:17 PM

Exactly! I say we go on a Limerick spree yes

Matthewnoah counte Thursday, March 26, 2009 6:17:19 PM

wink

Uncle MickMickeyjoe-Irl Thursday, March 26, 2009 9:26:33 PM

To find find Limericks, let's start a hunt.
Some may think this is only a stunt.
But the real tricky part,
choosing a rhyme at the start.
That won't make you look like a...

fool jester

MConor Thursday, March 26, 2009 9:51:43 PM

lol

KarenNerak Friday, March 27, 2009 6:04:55 PM

MConor Friday, March 27, 2009 6:13:00 PM

Damn, that sucks. And here I was thinking you might actually be getting some sleep down Probably just had you freaked out lol
