ATTENTION GEEKS OF MY.OPERA!!!

, , ,

My very close and awesome friend of 4+ years, Carlos, sent me the link to something that nearly made me piss myself. :yikes: In a good way, I mean. p: He knows that I'm strictly an Opera user, but knew that I would love this Firefox Add-On, so he sent me the link.

I gotta be honest. This thing almost makes me want to switch over to FF, even if only for a limited time. ALMOST. I won't be doing that. I am not a Run-Around-Sue with my browsers. Opera has my heart.

So anyway, here's what I'm babbling about.

A short description:

MushroomKingdom is a theme for all of the Super Mario Bros. fans out there. It features a landscape-style background, colorful icons with personality, and pipe scrollbars. Large icons are 32px and small are 24px.

A couple screenshots...

Here's a full browser image...

Soooo, since I don't personally have a clue how to make skins for Opera, I'm hoping that one of the Super Geeks out there will see this post and decide to grace us Opera users with a similar skin! PLEASE...For the love of God...Gimme some Mario for my browser!!!

Anyone out there willing to take this one on? I'd be ever so appreciative! I know that an assload of my friends would be, too! :D

(If there's already a Mario skin for Opera, why hasn't anyone mentioned it to me? )

Sickly Insomniac Random Randomness©Holy Crapballs! :eyes:

I know there are skins for My Opera but I don't know about skins for the Opera browser.
I hope someone makes one for you Karen.

Nerak 16. March 2009, 05:39

There are definitely skins for the browser. I use 'em all the time. I just haven't found a Mario one yet. :D

Thanks, Carol! I hope someone does, too!

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 06:06

Oops, Homer: Doh! I remember where they are now for the Opera browser.
:D

Nerak 16. March 2009, 06:57

 No biggie! :D

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 07:12

Of course my excuse is being sick made me have a major brain fart. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Of course I know there isn't skins for My Opera. Silly me.

Thanks. :D

How are you feeling? I hope better.

Nerak 16. March 2009, 07:13

 I've been sticking to that same story all week, myself! At least there's something good to come of being ill. :D

I'm feeling a bit better, thanks! Lonnie's the one who really got hit with it this time around. And you??? How are you feeling?

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 07:19

 :D

Happy to hear you are feeling better. Hope Lonnie feels better soon too. I'm feeling better but still sad.
Guess what I'm trying to do? Since 12:30 am Sat. I started doing the patch. It's a bitch trying to stop smoking. Chewing lots of gum, eating tooties pops, peanut M & M's. 4 times are the hardest. 1. Right after I wake up 2. After eating 3. In the car and 4. Playing poker.
I'm determind to stop smoking. :D

Nerak 16. March 2009, 07:24

You can do it!!! I know how hard it is...I did it, myself. I smoked for about ten years...which I guess isn't too bad compared to some, but still. It wasn't easy at all.

Good job on sticking to it this long!!! You're doing great so far...I know you can kick it for good! The Force is strong in you! p: Hehe

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 07:28

Thanks. I quit once for 3 years. Hopefully this time it's for good.

I didn't know you smoked for 10 years. I'm sure it wasn't easy.

Thanks. The Force was strong in you than. p:  :D

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 07:30

:sst: After I kick this bad habit, do I dare say, caffine is next.
Ugh, no more caffatine (caffine and nicotine, I made up that word) for me. :faint: I might be able to sleep if I quit the caffine.

Nerak 16. March 2009, 07:32

:eyes: WOW! You are one heck of a determined woman! Nicotine is one thing, but caffeine, too?! :faint: I think my body would go into some sort of shock if I went for too long without it! Good luck!!!

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 07:38

FAF!!! :D
Thanks. I think my body sure as the hell will go into shock. My daughter gave me the 3rd degree the other day about drinking so much cherry coke. "Your stomach has been eaten up by that stuff"

Nerak 16. March 2009, 07:50

I don't have assloads of time on my hands to make one, myself. That's my problem. :frown: I'm really far behind on work as it is. If I go adding a Mario skin to my To Do list, I'm going to get absolutely nothing accomplished! Homer: Doh! (Hence my begging that someone else do it for me. :D )

Nerak 16. March 2009, 07:51

 I guess I can see why she'd be concerned...since Coke can eat away metal and all. :eyes: Hahaha...but still...I think you need to conquer one at a time. First the cigs, and then the other junk. The Nicotine is hard enough all on its own!

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 08:01

noah counte 16. March 2009, 13:18

Heheh. You have to know that this isn't even a little tempting to me.

Shaunak 16. March 2009, 14:54

Some one make a Mario theme for Opera quick, before we all defect.

Chas4 16. March 2009, 18:38

sounds like a request to a good skin writer here on MyOpera

Dacotah 16. March 2009, 18:42

Sounds like what Karen said:(Hence my begging that someone else do it for me. :D )
Yes a request:"Anyone out there willing to take this one on? I'd be ever so appreciative!"

:D

garlingmatthews 16. March 2009, 20:39

Not for Mac :frown: You only use one browser? I love Opera, but there are some sites that it doesn't work with (e.g. http://www.letsplaychess.com ), and Firefox just has some rockin' add-ons.

Nerak 16. March 2009, 22:52

Matthew, you are the Anti-Mario. :irked:

I'm still batting my eyelashes....waiting for a skin makin' person to bust out with some Mario!

Nerak 16. March 2009, 22:53

Chess pwns, BTW. :headbang:

ste-ven 17. March 2009, 01:11

i use several, when one browser crushes i go to another one (but IE....is hardly acceptable)
so, this seems to be the FIRST alternate-skin on firefox....opera has many
Anyway, you haven't lost much, it's not a big deal

Nerak 17. March 2009, 01:14

It's a big deal to me! I like all my stuff to be all matchy-matchy! p:

I only use FF when some lame-ass site isn't equipped to handle the awesomeness that is Opera. That is the ONLY time, though. I'm loyal to the end! :knight:

ste-ven 17. March 2009, 01:32

oh...sometimes i'm on Safari
puah..that browser has only ONE skin..grey  disgusting, and has NO check-speller for other lang but english
(i write sometimes in mine - romanian - and in french ) :frown:
Opera uses dictionaries (thus check-spellers) from the GNU (the free soft), and that IS great

Nerak 17. March 2009, 01:33

Indeed. I have the Aspell plugged in tightly!

garlingmatthews 17. March 2009, 01:59

And Opera has a fullscreen mode that works, which is nice when you have a 13" MacBook, and a whole suite of built-in features that preemt a raft of other programmes. And it's fast.

But F.F. has CoolIris, which is absolutely great when tracking down a particular 'photo, and, um, lots of skins, and works with just about every site.

They compliment each other. Safari and Camino don't really bring anything extra to the table and I.E., the best thing I can say about it is that Netscape Navigator was worse. Marginally. Arrgh. How can it get WORSE with every new version??! There must be a bottom somewhere, surely. You know, when it just switches off the computer after you've turned it on to save your blood pressure. Never. Again.

Got to check that dictionary thing out.

And I love Opera Mini. Blogin' on the way to work. That's really damn cool.

Nerak 17. March 2009, 02:22

 Hahahaha...

How can it get WORSE with every new version??!

Hahaha...that is SO funny! It's like they're trying to out-do their shittiness or something!

I don't even own a cell phone, so mini isn't my thing. :shrugs: I have no use for a cell phone. I have nobody I want to call or get calls from when I'm out & about. It'd just be another expense I don't need.

ste-ven 17. March 2009, 04:37

Karen, it came to my mind now...some interesting ==>
for more than 200 years the only printing machine for the Arab alphabet worked in Syria (i believe in Aleppo). It has been made around 1700 and printed...Bibles. !!! Of course, as the authorities prohibited the use of printing machines for the Arab...coz they were the work of devil
but Arab Christians could print, but on a SINGLE machine in the whole Arab world !!
I'm telling you that bc the "devil's hand" had been manufactured in Romania, at Targoviste (or Bucharest). It has printed there several books in Arab, then a cleric from Syria (Paul of Aleppo) has been called. The poor priest worked some time to get all the approvals from the Turkish authorities (the masters of most of the Arab world at the time) and transported the device to Syria. The machine has also been used, in its last years of service, for printing the first Arab news-papers !!
(you will hardly find references...but if you dig..who knows )
You find here something  , but this is just a little bit !!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antim_Ivireanul
and here, (data are a little confusing)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_of_Aleppo

Nerak 17. March 2009, 07:34

That is very, very interesting! Thanks SO much for sharing that with me. I will certainly bee reading up on this!

ste-ven 17. March 2009, 07:43

oh, i just wanted to look "intelectual" p:

Nerak 17. March 2009, 18:32

 Mission accomplished!

I am genuinely interested in it, though.

garlingmatthews 17. March 2009, 18:41

Hmm. My window hopped and I replied in your other thread. D'oh!

Nerak 17. March 2009, 18:43
