Oh Noes!!! The Force Is Not With me!

, ,

 I just found out that Star Wars In Concert is coming to Portland on October 14th! Why am I crying? I'm poor! I can't go! I can't even express how much I want to go to this thing. :eyes: My son...he's going to flip his freakin' lid when I show him this! :yikes:

Phonies  : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AL8MDmQitU

:sst: It starts at $70/person up to $125/person. That's freakin' outrageous! You know how many bills I could chip away at with that?!

:left: I wonder if it'll be fully enclosed, or if I'd be able to sit in the parking lot & hear it. :sherlock: If I can, I WILL!!!!:headbang:

Decaf Columbian Crystals, Anyone?! Happy Birthday, Rick!!!

Sorry you can't go.
Hugs.

MsBeHaven 23. September 2009, 22:08

If I could, I'd send ya!

Matthew 23. September 2009, 22:12

I wouldn't pay $70 to see Jimi Hendrix. Well, maybe, but I'd wrestle with the decision. Thats' an outrage. It offends.

Karen 23. September 2009, 22:14

Thanks, Carol. It's okay...there are way bigger things in life to worry about! :D

:o: Thank you, Lenora. You're such a sweety!

:left: I would hope you'd not want to pay to see Jimi. He's kinda...uh...not lookin' so good these days. :right:

Carol 23. September 2009, 23:04

:D

Gavin Sheedy 23. September 2009, 23:34

That's a lot of money. I would really love to see Leonard Cohen, but they wanted the same money to sit at the top of a football arena... noooooo.

Karen 23. September 2009, 23:35

Exactly! That's just ridiculous. I mean, yeah - it'd be amazing...but so would having my bills paid!

How's London?!

Linda 23. September 2009, 23:54

I would love, love, love to attend this concert, but you are right----too much money. I saw Pink Floyd for, I believe, 27USD. And I thought that was expensive!

Gavin Sheedy 24. September 2009, 00:06

London is great, mainly because I have a very small niece (for weeks) to burp and make gooey faces at. p: Thanks for asking.

MsBeHaven 24. September 2009, 00:19

They have cheap seats for $35, but by the time you buy 4 tickets and pay parking, it's still a crap load of money spent.

Charles Schloss 24. September 2009, 00:30

Karen 24. September 2009, 00:48

I'd love to see Pink Floyd, Linda.

Gavin - Don't you love the fact that when they cry, you can just hand 'em back to their parents?! :headbang:

Exactly, Lenora! I'm hoping I'll be able to hear it from the parking lot. If so, I will put a blanket on the hood of the car & lay there & listen. :o:

Chas - 11,614 p:

Charles Schloss 24. September 2009, 00:51

Send the crash report for Opera?

I will not look for a while to see my count

Karen 24. September 2009, 00:55

Homer: Doh! Too late. It's not Opera's fault, anyway. It's my own stupid fault for running so much shizzle on my machine at once. Photoshop is a freakin' memory hog!

Party pooper. :down::frown:

Charles Schloss 24. September 2009, 01:28

latest version of photoshop? Tried a checkdisk all five steps?

I run about 7 at one time

Linda 24. September 2009, 01:31

That was the concert of a lifetime, Karen. Believe it was 87 or 89 reunion tour at Texas Stadium. It really was fantastic---light show, pigs flying overhead, the whole 9 yards. It was April 28, 1988 and here's the program:
Disc One

01 Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts I-V)
02 Signs Of Life
03 Learning To Fly
04 Yet Another Movie
05 Round And Round
06 A New Machine (Pt. 1)
07 Terminal Frost
08 A New Machine (Pt. 2)
09 Sorrow
10 Dogs Of War
11 On The Turning Away
12 One Of These Days

Disc Two

01 Time
02 On The Run
03 The Great Gig In The Sky
04 Wish You Were Here
05 Welcome To The Machine
06 Us And Them
07 Money
08 Another Brick In The Wall-Part 2
09 Comfortably Numb
10 One Slip
11 Run Like Hell

MsBeHaven 24. September 2009, 01:42

Unfortunately, it's an indoor sports arena so I really don't think you'd hear squat from outside. :irked:

Nope. The one prior to the latest. I'm retro, remember? p:

:yikes: Holy crap, Linda! :faint: That's one hell of a program! It's SO awesome that you got to go! :headbang: Floyd rules...my Mom also loves them.

Linda 24. September 2009, 03:07

They are my favorite all time group. Top of my list. I put a bunch of Pink Floyd on my MixPod player on my sticky post last week. Kept adding and adding, so I ended up having 4 HOURS of Pink Floyd on my Music Player, along with all the others. I have over 100 songs on my player. I never have to hunt for music. (except when I get ready to add to my playlist.)

Karen 24. September 2009, 03:08

That's freakin' awesome!

Gavin Sheedy 24. September 2009, 10:17

The trouble is getting to let go in the first place p: I told them that hey take a night off and go out if they liked, and was "Noooooo..."

Sarah 24. September 2009, 16:03

Biscuit, That looks really amazing. I would love to be in there and 'feel' the music instead of just hearing it. That surely must be mind blowing...

I wonder if there is anyway you could write them and tell them your story of how much you are a fan and you blogged about it...but can't afford to go. Or maybe someone should do that FOR you. Either way, that sounds incredible.

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 16:16

Things like that cost a lot of money nowadays... freakin sell outs.

Karen 24. September 2009, 18:38

Gavin - I guess that's the charm of a new baby for ya'! :D

Cupcake - Nah...I've done enough begging for money when we were almost out on the street. I don't have it in me to beg anyone for anything else. It's no biggie. Thanks, though, for wishing I could go!

Conor - The Miley Cyrus concert cost about double that. These Star Wars people aren't sell-outs. They have to pay for the enormous screens, all the people, the rent for the building...etc. I think the price is expensive, but that's only because I'm so poor. If I had money, I wouldn't think it's that bad. :D

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:11

Yes, but Miley Cyrus is a sell out.

The only thing I'd go for is the Battle of the Heroes... that'd be an awesome song to hear live.

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:13

Indeed, she is. A slutty one at that! p:

The only thing?! :eyes: The entire thing would be badass!

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:14

I'm not a big fan of star wars music. Lord of the Rings music was much better

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:15

 I beg to differ!!!

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:18

You can beg all you like, doesn't make it true.

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:18

 We are both entitled to our opinions. p:

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:19

True. Mines just better.

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:22

NEIN!!!

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:23

EIGHT!

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:25

:sst: I freakin' love that movie!

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:26

Never seen it.

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:27

:yikes: You've gotta! It's really, really awesome.

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:28

Sounds good.

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:30

Assuming your parents wouldn't blow a gasket. It's rated R & has some icky scenes.

But then, your brother & Dad watch war movies together, so meh.

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:31

You coming on Yahoo today?

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:32

Homer: Doh! I totally spaced. Hahaha...sorry. I'll go turn 'er on.

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 24. September 2009, 19:33

No problem.

Charles Schloss 24. September 2009, 19:33

I prefer Star Trek music :right:

Karen 24. September 2009, 19:33

:irked: Don't make me smack you around, Chas.

Charles Schloss 24. September 2009, 20:15

But it is the Final Frontier p:

Karen 24. September 2009, 20:20

 That's your defense?

@dustinwilson agrees. Star Wars music > Star Trek music

Gavin Sheedy 24. September 2009, 23:34

Now, now. They're both sporadically amazing. Wrath of Khan is my work music.

Karen 25. September 2009, 02:12

 That's awesome! I'm not saying that Star Trek music sucks by any means. I just think Star Wars music is better. :D

Gavin Sheedy 25. September 2009, 12:28

 Sometimes. The first two Trek movies both had outstanding soundtracks.

Magnus Thanatos 25. September 2009, 16:34

I feel ya on that one. I so want me and the fam to go, but we just can't get the $$$ together....

Karen 25. September 2009, 18:21

I'll have to look up some Star Trek music. I feel like I'm not being totally fair.

I know what you mean, Tre! Being broke blows.
