South African's are being urged not to travel to Europe, North Africa and the America's due to fears of bringing the 'deadly' H1N1 virus home. This is after a South African has been confirmed as having contracted the H1N1 virus whilst on holiday. (I think it was a holiday in Egypt if I remember correctly). Statistically, you have more chance of dying in a motor vehicle accident than you have of dying of H1N1.

I know that the H1N1 Virus is a horrible, horrible thing...but I'm not going to get vaccinated, nor am I getting my kids vaccinated for it. I think that if not for the press attempting to do their best to scare the shit out of the country, people wouldn't be nearly as panicked about it.

We've had flus and whatnot in the past that killed people. It's part of being human, I think. Seems like each time a flu or something like this goes around, the press just feeds on it and does everything they can to scare the general population of the country.

Hence my lack of news watching. p:
