Halloweeny Random Randomness©

, , ,

I haven't written any Random Randomness© in what seems like forever, so yay for finally getting around to it!

I signed up for a new account over on last.fm the other day. I totally forgot the login info for the account that I had before, so I created a brand spankin' new one. Here's my addy over there in case you use it & want to add me: http://www.last.fm/user/NerdyNerak

Don't forget that I also have buttons in my sidebar that you can click on to go to other profiles I have on other sites!

Speaking of the sidebar buttons; I changed them from hearts to stars. I think it goes with the Mario theme better. What do you think? Should I leave them as stars, or put the standard square icons there instead?

:left: Weird. I just felt a really cold draft like someone just opened the window, but when I turned to see what the hell was going on, nobody was there. I thought Jameson was in the kitchen & perhaps opened the window. Nope. :eyes:

My friend, Gavin AKA garlingmatthews, was nice & generous enough to send me another pound of coffee. :coffee: Last time he sent me coffee, it was from Sweden. It was so good, too! This time, the coffee is from Berlin. I am drinking the first pot of it right now. (last cup, so I need to brew another pot) It's SO flippin' tasty! I noticed that it's ground a whole lot finer than how coffee is normally ground. I wonder if they grind all of their coffee to be that fine, or if it's just the stuff I got. I dunno, but wasn't that SO sweet of Gavin?! :o: I'm so blessed.

Dustin just sent me THIS link on Twitter. OMG...that's so funny! Like he said to me...read the first comment! (Thanks again, Dustin. Now I know what to get you for Christmas! )

My mother has been looking for a place to move into! She finally has the money saved up to move! :hat::headbang: Now all she needs to do is stop being so freakin' picky & move into a decent place where she can build up her own life again! :o: I love my Mom to death, but I CANNOT WAIT until she moves out. Having her live with us is in no way good for our relationship. We just do not get along well at all when we cohabitate.

The people who live on the ground floor of our building carved the Volkswagen logo into a pumpkin. How flippin' lame.

The people who live on the second story - above the VW pumpkin people also have a pumpkin they've carved sitting outside their door. Their carving is of Teddy Roosevelt. :eyes: WTF is with the people around here? Neither of those pumpkins are Halloween worthy! :irked:

We haven't carved a pumpkin yet. My mother told Sunny that she was going to take her to the store to buy pumpkins when she gets home from work tonight. I kinda hope she does...I want to roast the seeds! Yummy! :D

I downloaded Digsby the other day. I absolutely love it and totally recommend it to all of you! It's very stable and connects to all the good messengers & sites. You should check it out if you're the chatting type.

I'm absolutely stunned that I've been seeing Hummingbirds around the tree by our balcony this late in the year. It's getting pretty flippin' cold at night...I can't believe that those little guys can survive such cold temperatures. I mean, they're such tiny little things!

Lonnie has a headache, so he just fell asleep on the couch. :frown: He gets really bad migraines. Must be a genetic thing since his Mom gets them really badly, too.

Believe it or not, I'm just not into Halloween this year as much as I normally am. Not sure what that's all about. I just don't feel too excited for it like I normally would. I'm more excited for Christmas! I love Christmas. Decorating for the holidays is one of my favorite things to do. I have Halloween decorations up right now...but I'm still just not groovin' on the Halloween spirit this year. Kinda sucks, huh?!

I told Jameson that he could wear my nun costume this year if he wants to. He's considering being a bearded, dead, & pregnant nun. I think it'd be hilarious, so I hope he does it.

I suppose I'll shut up now. I have a bunch of videos I need to watch, some graphics to make, and an assload of other stuff to do. If I don't post before then, I hope everyone has a very fun & safe Halloween! I hope those of you who do dress up will take pictures and post them! I'd LOVE to see 'em.

very fun & safe Halloween!

Impossible. And since when did you start being so responsible?

I think the stars are pretty badass

Karen 29. October 2009, 20:48

Impossible to have fun & be safe? I suppose it depends on the fun.

I do my best to pretend that I'm uber responsible. Apparently you fell for it. p:

Glad you dig the stars! Thanks for the feedback.

Linda 29. October 2009, 20:52

I don't do Halloween. And I don't decorate for any other holiday. Living by myself----what's the point? I have no grandkids, either, so these holidays don't mean anything to me anymore. I used to really love Christmas, but after my mom died, it was no longer meaningful for me.

Karen 29. October 2009, 20:55

I'm sorry to hear it, Linda. I know that even if I were alone, I would still decorate for holidays. That's just how my personality is. I love to be around all that stuff. It makes the holidays more fun to me. :D

Think I'll go out as an accountant p:

Karen 29. October 2009, 21:12

:left: I know you just made a funny...but I'm so freakin' retarded today that I don't get it.

Karen 29. October 2009, 21:13

OH! You meant dress up like one when you said "Go out"...I thought you were saying you'd be an accountant when you die or something to that effect! I took the "go out" completely wrong! Homer: Doh!

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 29. October 2009, 21:13

He is an accountant...

Karen 29. October 2009, 21:17

Right, but I was explaining how I was being retarded. p:

My point was that My Opera isn't supported P: But just wait until we get Super Fancy API Madness at My Opera sometime. Nommie!

(Not sure if/when this happens P:)

Bud McDonnell 29. October 2009, 22:36

Christmas is either gonna be GREAT or SUCKASS this year. Too soon to call it yet. And I haven't decorated since I've been alone. Kids put some stuff up now and then when they come over.

Dennis 29. October 2009, 22:44

I vote for suckass. :frown:

 I had a feeling that was what you were getting at, Robert! IF the fancy schmancy API Madness happens, I'll be overly excited!:hat::headbang:

I'm going to assume that it's going to be GREAT! I don't want to create some sort of negative self-fulfilling prophecy. :insane:

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 29. October 2009, 22:52

Christmas last year sucked ass for me... hopefully this year will be good :D

Karen 29. October 2009, 23:01

I hope it will be, too!

Dacotah 29. October 2009, 23:12

Hi Karen, I hope you post a photo of your carved pumpkin and photos of all of you dressed up.

Tell your mom Hi for me.

Tab 29. October 2009, 23:48

I loved Christmas as a kid, but love it way more as a mom!

My kids won't be getting much this year since we got the xbox 360..but that's what they wanted.

Linda 29. October 2009, 23:55

I loved Christmas and Halloween when Chris was a kid. Loved dressing him up and taking him trick or treating. (I pigged out on the candy). And I probably would enjoy now if I'd had grandchildren.

Bud McDonnell 30. October 2009, 00:09

I'm looking forward to (hopefully) enjoying them again. :hat:

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 01:50

I'm kinda enjoyin' the "candy corn" motif you got goin'...

Linda 30. October 2009, 01:50

You are scared to think positively, aren't you Bud? Don't guess I can blame you there----I would be on pins and needles I'm sure.

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 01:54

:right: Weird. I just felt a really cold draft like someone just opened the window, but when I turned to see what the hell was going on, nobody was there. I thought Jameson was in the kitchen & perhaps opened the window. Nope. :left:

I've seen a movie like that. As a matter of fact, I've seen several. Usually they end up with a bunch of people getting eaten. I wouldn't worry about it... bye

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 01:58

I downloaded Digsby the other day. I absolutely love it and totally recommend it to all of you! It's very stable and connects to all the good messengers & sites. You should check it out if you're the chatting type.

I think it may be time for an "intervention"...

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 02:00

I did a Picasso Jack O'Lantern once...

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 02:02

...haven't tried trick-or-treating on Christmas, though...

Bud McDonnell 30. October 2009, 02:05

Any female sitting around in panties with one shoe on is a sure goner. @Linda: Yup. (Maybe January?)

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 02:15

Any female sitting around in panties with one shoe on is a sure goner.

Apparently, I glossed over this particular thread in the comments section...

Shaunak De 30. October 2009, 02:37

Speaking of the sidebar buttons; I changed them from hearts to stars.
The look nice and go well with the theme.

I want to roast the seeds
I dry them and eat em raw....:D
A little trick they taught me at the Cadet Corps camp P:

Bud McDonnell 30. October 2009, 02:49

@Rob: Isn't that how they are always dressed (and usually running) in the movies right before they meet an untoward demise? @Pumpkin Seeds: Yum!

Kiran 30. October 2009, 04:50

Hey Karen. :D

Shaunak De 30. October 2009, 05:46

Forgot to mention: Too bad last.fm is not free for international users. :frown:

Used to love the service. P:

Linda 30. October 2009, 05:56

Shaunak, do you like Pandora? Don't know if it's free for users outside U.S., but I think it is. And are you familiar with Playa Cofe Jukebox? It's free radio from a little island in the south pacific. Here's the link if you want to try it. http://www.tropicalglen.com/. It has many, many genres.

Shaunak De 30. October 2009, 06:31

Unfortunately, even Pandora blocks out international users. Damn licensing issues.

Playa Cofe Jukebox works great though! Thanks for the link!

Gavin Sheedy 30. October 2009, 06:46

Hey, I'm retarded too. I'd quiet like to be an accountant when I die. I could count the ferryman on the river Styx's money for him.

Conor, I'm not sure that they except B.A. Mod.s in philosophy, Greek and Roman Civilisation and Film Studies as accounrancy degrees any more. Bizarre, I know.

Cσησя Mμяρнỵ 30. October 2009, 13:07

Huh. I coulda sworn they did.

I'll definitely tell her Hi for you!
I'm not dressing up this year, after all. We're just not financially stable enough to go blow money on costumes this year. That's okay, though. Next year will be better. :D

Ditto that, Tab!

Bud - I am looking forward to you enjoying the holidays again, too. :hugs::coffee:

Robert -
• I'm glad you like the candy corn motif!
• I'm still alive, so there! p:
• The only way I'll sit through an intervention is if you come up here and take part in it. p:
• A Picasso Jack O'Lantern would be badass! And I don't even care for Picasso's work!
:left: I must've glossed over, too. I don't know what the hell a female sitting around in panties with one shoe on has to do with anything. :eyes:

Shaunak - I like them to be toasted & salted. Mmmmm. I don't think I'd enjoy them as much if they're raw. That's just too healthy! p:

Kiran - HI! :D How the heck are you today? :coffee:

Gavin - If there's anything you're not, it's retarded! p:

Robert Hurley 30. October 2009, 16:11

The only way I'll sit through an intervention is if you come up here and take part in it.

OK. If that's how it's gonna be...

:D

Gavin Sheedy 30. October 2009, 16:14

 I think that we're all periodically retarded.

Karen 30. October 2009, 16:14

 Yes, it is. p:

Perhaps...but my 'period' is much more frequent and lengthy than everyone else's!

Gavin Sheedy 30. October 2009, 16:15

Nahhh.

Karen 30. October 2009, 16:25

You're far too kind. It's okay, though. I'm at peace with my retardation! :o:

Tab 30. October 2009, 16:32

Karen my costume cost me $1.50...
The kid costumes cost me a total of $13.00.

I told them costumes had to be home made this year.

The kids looked adorable this morning.. I have posted a picture of them on my blog! Something about homemade costumes I think.

Karen 30. October 2009, 16:35

I'm going to be helping Sunny make a costume, but as for me? Meh...I'm just not as into it as I should be. I'm feeling depressed a lot lately, so I'm sure that's got a lot to do with it. It's the rain & gloom.

I want pictures of the kids & you! Pretty please?! :bats eyelashes:

Tab 30. October 2009, 16:45

There is a pic of the kids posted as todays blog entery.

I completely get the gloomy thing. I spend all winter depressed myself.

Hopiing the tanning bed helps you through the winter.
