Dr. Phil Looks Disapproving of My Cake

, , ,

I just posted an album with Halloween pictures in it. There aren't many AT ALL. There are a few of my son, Jameson, in there. He looked awesome - the pics don't do his get-up justice. I cannot even express how much he scared the little kids who showed up at the door. lol He's a very intimidating looking person, anyway. Then you add mega blood and whatnot...yeah. I was in the kitchen carving a pumpkin, and I'd hear him answer the door when trick-or-treaters would show up, and even the Moms would GASP super loudly. IT RULED SO MUCH!!!

I wanted to get pictures of Sunny as well (She dressed as an 'Ultra Nerd'), but from the time she got home from school 'til bedtime, she was only home for like 5 minutes. She was too busy hanging out with her gang of friends - going door-to-door begging for candy. She used her pillow case as a bag...and it was full by the time she got home. bigeyes They must've hit like 2398437 houses. They not only went to our neighborhood, but also the next one over.

Anyway, I baked a chocolate cake for Lonnie (that's his favorite) and some white cupcakes for the kids. I'd been told ahead of time that our house was going to be the first house on the list of places to go (apparently we're cool parents? confused I have no idea why the kids around here think that, but okay.) Anyway, since we were gonna be the kids' first stop, I wanted to get them sugared up properly so they'd go home totally wired off their asses. lol I gave them each a cupcake and filled their bags with a handful of candy prior to sending them on their way. Didn't even get one "Thank you" (except from Sunny), but that's okay. I know they were just really excited...and tweakin' on sugar. lol

We also carved four Jack-O-Lanterns, but I failed to take pictures of 'em. left I cannot believe I forgot to, but I did. I'll light 'em up again tonight & then take pics to add to the album.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday. I was dressed as a nun and Lonnie was dressed as a priest. The moment we walked into the office, the receptionists and the patients who were in the waiting room all either laughed their asses off or smiled. It was awesome to see so many smiling faces. I love to have a positive effect on people. Lonnie and I really played it up, too. I mean we REALLY played it up. I referred to him as "Father" the entire time. When he was dinking around with his phone, he noticed that the receptionist was kinda looking at him, so he said, "Just scheduling an exorcism here." lol He got a cup of water from the dispenser thingy and when we were alone in the examination room with the nurse, I said, "May I have a drink of your water, Father?" He said, "Yes, sister. You may." I asked, "Has it been blessed?" He told me that it hadn't, so I took a drink and said, "There. Now it has." Hahaha! The nurse must've thought we were totally spun. WE ARE! scared

Anyway, the entire time we were there, we played it up at EVERY opportunity we got. bigsmile SO FUN.

I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween! Sorry for the lack of pics this year. I was just so busy with the doc, baking, carving, kids, etc...

I know about doctors alright. About the only social life I have left is the visits to my doctor. I think I have a crush on her! lol

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Tuesday, November 1, 2011 9:47:29 PM

I read somewhere that "Dr Phil" has no medical degree or any degree at all. irked

Good God, Tyler. Go to the grocery store more often...develop a crush on the checker-outter! lol

You read bunk info:

Phil McGraw graduated in 1975 from Midwestern State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. He went on to earn a Master of Arts in experimental Psychology in 1976, and a Doctor of Philosophy in clinical Psychology in 1979 at the University of North Texas, where his dissertation was titled "Rheumatoid Arthritis: A Psychological Intervention". After run-ins with several faculty members, McGraw was guided through the doctoral program by Frank Lawlis, who later became the primary contributing Psychologist for the Dr. Phil television show.

After obtaining his Ph.D., McGraw joined his father, Dr. Joe McGraw, in Wichita Falls, Texas, where the elder McGraw had established his private Psychology practice.

Ok I can easily tell you why you are the "cool parents" just from what you said alone:

Exhibit A: "Anyway, since we were gonna be the kids' first stop, I wanted to get them sugared up properly so they'd go home totally wired off their asses."

Exhibit B: "Didn't even get one "Thank you" (except from Sunny), but that's okay. I know they were just really excited...and tweakin' on sugar." - It's the "that's okay part" You can still relate to being a kid and teen (that makes you cool! headbang )

and finally Exhibit C: "I love to have a positive effect on people. Lonnie and I really played it up, too. I mean we REALLY played it up."

I dress up too and every once in awhile act it out but get too scared. You are doing what everyone wants to do but is too afraid to do. That's why you're cool.
cool

KarenNerak Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:16:55 PM

o Well, thank you for taking the time to point all of that out! happy I really wouldn't have looked at any of it that way.

My Mom said that she admired me for having "the balls" to go to the doc's like that...and honestly didn't understand it. I was like, "Why? It's Halloween. You're supposed to dress up!" I guess my inner child is just WAY bigger that most 'normal' adults. lol

KarenNerak Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:18:06 PM

...and the weird thing is that I have really bad panic/anxiety disorder. However, when I'm in costume, all that seems to go out the window. left Maybe I need to dress up everyday rather than taking meds?! lol

Cleanclean Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:21:06 PM

Try it and see! up

KarenNerak Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:28:12 PM

I'm thinking not. p

Spaggyj Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:30:06 PM

Baldy man looks disapproving of most things lol
I love those days where you can just be all hyper and deal with people staring at you and junk. They're rare for me.

KarenNerak Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:35:58 PM

lol Good point! He just has that look about him.

That's why I like Halloween so much. I feel like it's a day when I FINALLY feel somewhat normal. But then again...normalcy is incredibly overrated from what I've gathered.

Spaggyj Tuesday, November 1, 2011 10:40:39 PM

Doesn't even exist. *nods*

Did you have scary music playing to when the kids came up to the door?
Why no photos of you and Lonnie?
I remember one guys house when I was a kid, every year you knew you would get scared shitless. His yard was decked out and scary music playing and walking up to his front door you were waiting for him somewhere to pop out. If you made it to the front door with out him popping out you wondered why and as soon as you knocked you found out. Never a normal door opening.

Cleanclean Wednesday, November 2, 2011 2:29:42 PM

What did he do when it was time for Halloween? wink

Dacotah Wednesday, November 2, 2011 6:05:54 PM

lol I wonder, never tried but on Halloween. But there is someone else I remember would be good at Halloween.
I remember my cousin and I walked to a park and she told me a famous wrestler lives there. I didn't believe her so I started to walk up to the door to knock on it and ask. Well I didn't get to the door and this really scary big lady opened the door and screamed at me to get off their property, that her husband was sleeping and if he got woke up he'd not be to nice. I felt like saying just like you. lol She'd make a scary Halloween door answerer. faint She didn't even have a costume on. bigsmile

KarenNerak Wednesday, November 2, 2011 6:48:26 PM

Tamil, lol banana

Carol, no pics of Lonnie & me because we were just so busy running around doing stuff that it didn't even occur to me. Though, I think Lonnie has a couple of himself. Maybe I can talk him out of one. bigsmile - And no, we didn't play scary music. No need to with Jameson looking the way he did. lol

The thing about our house was that it looks so friendly from the outside. Four pretty friendly looking jack-o-lanterns, Halloween garland, a witch thingy on the front door where it looks like she crashed into it, etc. So, that's why it scared people even more. They thought that someone friendly looking would open the door. WRONG! lol

lol I guess that woman pretty much scared the piss right outta ya'!

I know it's cruel, but I can't take bald people seriously..

One could have a gun pointed at me, and I'd still be snickering at the shine.

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Wednesday, November 2, 2011 11:55:34 PM

Like I said He ain't no doctor.

BulbasaurJetPackBulbasaur Thursday, November 3, 2011 12:06:23 AM

My son shaves his head. He's not shiny bald, though. He always has a tiny bit of stubble. bigsmile

Mad Scientistqlue Thursday, November 3, 2011 5:31:46 AM

Hey, irked . Balding is a man's birthright. happy .
pssst . I've heard rumours that some women find it sexy! whistle . Still looking for the ones that do though. awww .

KarenNerak Thursday, November 3, 2011 6:28:51 AM

I happen to find baldness incredibly attractive. o Hence my minor obsession for Patrick Stewart. o He's my favorite part of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

As a matter of fact, my attraction to bald men is so well known amongst my friends and family (especially Lonnie lol ) that any time someone sees a bald guy on TV or something, they automatically make some smart-assed remark like, "I bet Karen's getting hot n' bothered!" rolleyes

I have a good friend who shares my sentiments regarding bald men. There are plenty of us out here. bigsmile

Mad Scientistqlue Thursday, November 3, 2011 7:18:37 AM

Then why don't I meet any of them? cry . (you don't count 'cos you're spoken for wink )

KarenNerak Thursday, November 3, 2011 4:36:23 PM

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Saturday, November 5, 2011 6:54:05 PM

Do to the complete bald thing you have to have a good looking skull, unlike mine which is pretty lumpy. This I know from back when I was in the US Army and they shaved my head. Not a good look for me. lol

KarenNerak Saturday, November 5, 2011 7:39:35 PM

Lonnie's got a bumpy head, too. He was a really clumsy little kid. lol

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Monday, November 7, 2011 7:04:04 PM

Was his nick name Crash? lol

KarenNerak Monday, November 7, 2011 7:53:13 PM

lol I don't dare tell anyone what his childhood nickname was. left He'd be horrified! bigeyes But, no...not Crash. p

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Tuesday, November 8, 2011 6:43:04 PM

That bad huh? Was is it: Kathud? lol

KarenNerak Tuesday, November 8, 2011 7:50:40 PM

lol No, it was a play on his last name. I honestly don't think it's bad at all...I was called MUCH worse (lol), but I understand how these types of things can stick with a person. down

Tyler Parke YoungCaptivevet Wednesday, November 9, 2011 7:37:02 PM

I don't know... my brother was able to set people straight once he got big enough. For a long time, everybody called him "Tippy", which was a play off his middle name. One day he came home and said: "My name is JOHN.", and that was THAT. cool

KarenNerak Wednesday, November 9, 2011 8:58:03 PM

yes Good for him!

Mad Scientistqlue Wednesday, November 9, 2011 10:36:21 PM
