Woke up to a buttload of snow today!
Well, not the buttload I'm used to since I lived in Montana for over 20 years,
but for Oregon? This is a buttload.
They even shut down all the schools for it. lol Cracks me up!

Oh course ya know I crack up every time states that are not use to it acts like this. What's up with that anyways? Don't their vehicles have the right tires on or what? That's my guess they act this way and close down stuff for that little bit of snow.

The reason people around here freak out and think the end is near is because snow is NOT a normal occurrence for the area. Once every couple years, it might give us a light dusting of snow that's gone about an hour after it hits the ground, but snow like this freaks people out. The streets are basically empty. lol People call in sick to work - and some businesses even close down with this tiny bit of snow.

Of course, Sunny & her friends are STOKED! No school! lol She laughs about it, though, as she remembers me walking her to school in Montana with the snow up to her hips and my thighs in below zero temperatures. That was normal to us. This stuff here is simply laughable.

To be fair, though, if I were totally unfamiliar with snow, I might kinda trip out, too. Not to mention the fact that I'd MUCH rather have these people hiding in their homes than being on the road attempting to drive in it. bigeyes

It got worse - we got over a foot of snow the following day. I can understand shutting things down for that since people around here haven't a clue how to drive in it, but for the crap in the above pics? Asinine! rolleyes

Of course they should shut the schools down so the kids can go out anf have some fun playing snowfight or making snowman or whatever!
Still remember when I was in junior school, some older kids, actually 2 or 3 classes of high school boys, threw snowballs simultaneously toward a group of teachers when they tried to kick them out of the playground. ( Students are never allowed to do the things they want to do. )
I can still remember the look on the dean's face! lol
And the teachers were kicked out!
