ARCTIC BLAST 2012!!!

, ,

This whole "snow" thing is crackin' me up something fierce! lol
The people on the news are seriously acting as though the end has come.
ANY time we get snow - even a minor dusting, they refer to it as "Arctic Blast 20__"
I figured I'd go outside and snap a few pictures just so you can see what it is
that everyone is freakin' out over. Man, this kills me. lol

Here we have a news reporter who's out in the "blizzard"...
telling us how horrible the conditions are:

Just to give you an idea of what we're dealing with here,
take a look at my feet in the freakin' slush that they're calling snow:

Here's a shot I took looking down my street.
Looks ever so treacherous, doesn't it?! lol

All of this just cracks me up SO hard. I mean, really. I understand that they're not used to snow here in Oregon, but gimme an effin' break! The way they're overreacting, you'd think that people are having to shovel their ways out of their front doors or something. Good God...if we ever get REAL snow, I would hate to think of how they'd handle it...or not handle it, actually. lol

lol That's hilarious. They do the same thing here with hurricanes but even if it looks like it will come NO WHERE close they freak out. "Well it could turn" when I was in Jax one hadn't hit for like 40 years. Yeah dude, ok it could but does it? no.

The news people get bored I guess.

KarenNerak Wednesday, January 18, 2012 12:43:00 AM

There are gang shootings, rapes - you name it going on, yet this snow is top story. Actually, it's the only story I've heard them refer to during the entire newscast! rolleyes

Mad Scientistqlue Wednesday, January 18, 2012 12:54:57 AM

Now, if it were to snow that much here in Umzinto, (in January), then there would be reason to freak! lol .
pssst . It's 30 degrees celsius in the day here. So snow aint gonna happen anytime soon. p .

KarenNerak Wednesday, January 18, 2012 12:56:55 AM

o I envy your heat. It's not unbearably cold here - I just prefer heat. bigsmile

KimberlySqueakeyCat Wednesday, January 18, 2012 1:00:55 AM

KarenNerak Wednesday, January 18, 2012 1:01:44 AM

Masonwaffletower Wednesday, January 18, 2012 1:23:22 AM

It would be a lot worse here in Florida. We can't even handle sleet X)

KarenNerak Wednesday, January 18, 2012 1:31:53 AM

Yeah, but that's to be expected when you live in Florida. This is the NW, for cryin' out loud! rolleyes

KimberlySqueakeyCat Wednesday, January 18, 2012 2:37:22 AM

@ Mason

I'm in Vero Beach

BeccaBeccamaus Wednesday, January 18, 2012 3:27:47 AM

I'm used to worse coming from Germany...makes me laugh every time I see panic on tv about a sprinkle of snow lol

Dacotah Wednesday, January 18, 2012 6:17:19 AM

Must say though I hate driving in slush, it's very slippery.

Move to Australia. We had 43 degrees (109.4 F) the other day. faint

ShallowMuse Wednesday, January 18, 2012 11:23:55 AM

lol My ex, who stays in Alabama experiences the same thing! He used to stay in Pennsylvania where it snows A LOT then he moved to Bama and everything just shuts down when they get like an inch of snow!

KimberlySqueakeyCat Wednesday, January 18, 2012 6:39:35 PM

this is just too funny.

Alexodius PrimeAleksOD Wednesday, January 18, 2012 7:06:51 PM

KimberlySqueakeyCat Thursday, January 19, 2012 6:20:20 PM

Spaggyj Thursday, January 19, 2012 7:09:45 PM

You have very small feet.

KarenNerak Thursday, January 19, 2012 8:24:11 PM

Actually, I have pretty big feet. American size 9. My jeans are just so long that they're covering a large portion of my shoes. wink

I'm 5'9", so if I had tiny feet, I'd constantly be falling over.

left Wait. Even with big feet, I'm constantly falling down. lol

KimberlySqueakeyCat Thursday, January 19, 2012 11:21:11 PM

Now this is snow

Spaggyj Friday, January 20, 2012 1:39:06 PM

You're only half a shoe size smaller than me? Hm. Perhaps it's the jeans overlapping the shoes that makes your feet seem tiny left

KarenNerak Saturday, January 21, 2012 6:54:17 AM

Must be it since my family refers to me as "Sasquatch" p

Spaggyj Sunday, January 22, 2012 10:37:20 PM

That's absurd lol

KarenNerak Monday, January 23, 2012 10:12:09 PM

Depends, if/when that slush refroze it would be like one giant ice rink.

BulbasaurJetPackBulbasaur Sunday, February 12, 2012 7:03:30 PM

Has that one car in the middle slipped off the side, or is someone driving it?

KarenNerak Sunday, February 12, 2012 7:50:15 PM

I'm going to bomb Photobucket's headquarters. irked

Anyway,...someone was driving the car. There was nothing slippery to be had that day.

KarenNerak Sunday, February 12, 2012 7:51:19 PM

I moved all animated gifs over to their lame-ass site when MyO stopped allowing them. Now that MyO allows them again, I have to move 'em all back. irked I'm too sick for this shit.
