Gussied Up Random Randomness

, , ,

  • I have a Pot Roast in the oven, so that gives me two hours to kill. yes Now I can take my time & babble out some Randomness all I want.

  • I got lots and lots of sleep last night. I have no idea what was so different about last night, but I'm thrilled to have actually gotten as much uninterrupted sleep as I did. I've really been battling insomnia a lot lately, so to sleep so deeply for so long was incredibly refreshing! p

  • I'm still taking two Cranberry Supplements three times per day. I'm not sure if it's the Vitamin C in them, or what, but they really give me a boost of energy. It's nothing incredibly noticeable, but I definitely do notice an increase in my energy level. No matter what the reason is, I'm going to continue taking Cranberry supplements forever. bigsmile

  • I CANNOT forget to call my Dad tomorrow! I keep spacing it out...'til it's too late in the day to call him. I don't exactly want to call him at 11PM and have him think something's wrong. I'll write myself a little Post-It reminder...one sec. wait Ook...done! I stuck it to the upper left-hand corner of my monitor. Now hopefully I won't forget to look at it! lol

  • Lonnie's poor kitty, Grimace, has a cold. sad She keeps sneezing like crazy. She doesn't feel hot or anything, and she's still eating and drinking. Lonnie said that if she gets worse or doesn't get better soon, he's going to take her to the Vet. I really hope she gets better. Not only for her sake, but the last thing we need is another flippin' bill!

  • My hair has been going through a pretty major growth spurt lately. It wasn't that long ago that it was to my lower back. Now it's down to my waist. I could tuck it in my jeans if I wanted to. lol I won't do that, but sheesh. I wonder what the heck's going on. I'm certainly not complaining as I love long hair, but it makes me wonder what the deal is.

  • bigeyes Holy crap! idea What if it's the Cranberry supplements helping the growth of my hair?! left

  • I've come to the conclusion that Arizona freakin' rules! headbang I know a few people who live there, and each one of them is really cool. Not only that, but it's the only state in the Union that doesn't partake in the whole Daylight Savings Time shenanigans. They never have to spring forward or fall back! My brother lives in AZ, and he says he likes it there a lot. My Dad bought a house in AZ last year and will be moving into it this July. PLUS, it's close to Texas, and I have lots and lots of friends in Texas! Jenn, Lenora/Rick/Ray/Rein/Jack, Linda, Jose, ...who am I forgetting? I know there are a few more friends who live there, but my brain isn't cooperating right now. Imagine that! lol

  • So, are any of you going to try out for the internship at pera in Oslo? If I were single and had no kids, I probably would. I'd rather have my family, though, so I'm perfectly happy. happy I wish anyone who's going to try out luck! I hope it will be someone who blogs and takes pictures a lot so we can kinda get the inside scoop! bigsmile

  • I had to go pee earlier (we all do it, so shuddup) so I went into the bathroom to do just that. I was so flippin' shocked, amazed, and proud when I discovered that I could slide my jeans down without unbuttoning them! headbang These are the same jeans I wasn't even able to get buttoned because of my flab about a year ago! All of my clothes are getting all baggy on me now. I know I've kinda yo-yo'd here and there, but this time I've actually lost a hefty amount of weight. I'm SO close to my goal weight and I'm really freakin' stoked about it! party

  • Although it's still rainy and dreary here in the Pacific NW, I know that the nice weather is just around the corner, so I've been thinking of redoing my hair. During the winter months, I tend to dye it my natural color or maybe even a shade darker. My natural color is pretty dark brown. Last summer, I added some lighter highlights and I really liked it. It was a fun change for the summer months. I'm thinking I'll do that again this summer. Probably the next time I dye my hair...which should actually be any day now. If it turns out decently, I'll take pics & show you. smile

  • I just checked on the Pot Roast. I'd say it has about 45 minutes left. That's plenty of time to wrap this up and prepare some steamed broccoli and biscuits.

  • For those of you who are on Facebook, haven't added me yet, and would like to, HERE is my profile. If you're somebody I don't really know, you might want to let me know that you saw my URL on Mypera, or I'm bound to deny your request. wink

  • My Mom and I have been doing a bit of hanging out together lately. I must say...I've really been enjoying her company so much. She's one of the few people on the planet who I can be myself around, and she doesn't get embarrassed or pissed off. She loves me AND my goofiness, and that feels great. Of course, I love her unconditionally as well. We went to Buffalo Exchange in Portland last weekend. It's a pretty neato place. There were lots and lots of people in there, though, and I hate that. I would like to go back when it's not busy. Crowds & I don't mesh well. bomb

  • Oh noes! Lonnie just fell asleep while watching TV on the couch. left I really don't want to have to wake him up when dinner's ready. lol Waking people up is something I pretty much dread. I mean, who takes being woken up well? I know I sure as Hell don't! I don't envy anyone who wakes me up! bigeyes

  • Alrighty, I'd better go steam some broccoli & make some biscuits now. This week is just flyin' by, huh? It is for me, anyway. I hope you all enjoy the rest of the week & weekend.
Adios for now, mi amigos. heart

Speaking of which; have you been keeping up with the group? I've checked on it a few times & things seemed okay. I think we should probably post some stuff, though. You know - keep it fresh & interesting. bigsmile Ideas?! PM me if need be.

" thrilled to have actually gotten as much uninterrupted sleep as I did"
Good for you! Sleep is sooo underrated!

Can't wait till the night i get more than 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep! zzz

L2D2 Friday, May 28, 2010 7:35:44 PM

Your hair has gotten that long? Pictures, please. I am going in the other direction now----I'm letting my hair grow out so I can wear it in a bob, but I am also letting the red grow off. I'm tired of having to do the color bit every month.

Nice bit of randomness. Got any pot roast left? One of my favorite meals.

MConor Friday, May 28, 2010 10:16:24 PM

I can imagine! Before you know it, you'll be able to sleep the entire night without any interruptions! smile Time really does fly!

Linda, I'll have Lonnie take pics since I can't really take pics of the back of my head. up I'm tired of having to dye my hair, too, but I'm not about to stop. I know that at this point, if I let my greys show it would add quite a bit of age to me. down I'm sure there will come a time when I say, "Screw it!" and stop with the dye, but not yet. bigsmile

Just a little bit of roast & veggies left. bigsmile

Conor, you lost me. confused Wish you could what? Sorry...I'm not the brightest bulb on the tree! doh

KarenNerak Friday, May 28, 2010 10:57:07 PM

OH! Btw, Linda...my Mom needs to buy some freakin' eggs! lol She has none in her fridge and hasn't for a while. WTF?! How can she NOT need eggs? lol

MConor Friday, May 28, 2010 11:19:12 PM

The internship.

KarenNerak Saturday, May 29, 2010 12:30:20 AM

Oooooh!!! lol Right!! That's too bad. I wish you could do it...not only would you get to work for the big , but you'd get away from dreary Ireland for a bit. yes

L2D2 Saturday, May 29, 2010 12:35:24 AM

"Mom, I noticed you were out of eggs so I brought you some.??

KarenNerak Saturday, May 29, 2010 12:40:58 AM

She knows me better than I know myself most of the time. That would be completely out of character for me.

I think that what I'm going to do is suggest a really good recipe that I know she won't be able to resist making. That way she'll have no choice but to buy eggs! lol

In the meantime, my kids keep wondering why I'm drawing on the eggs. lol

L2D2 Saturday, May 29, 2010 12:53:07 AM

Hahaha. Well, don't wait long or they'll be rotten and she will be REALLY, REALLY upset with you. lol

KarenNerak Saturday, May 29, 2010 1:56:02 AM

Mad Scientistqlue Sunday, May 30, 2010 2:35:00 AM

Before I even continue to read this post. . . How can you have a pot roast in an oven? confused. By definition, a pot roast is cooked in a pot? left.
Or is this a euphemism for your 'secret' ingredient? p.

Mad Scientistqlue Sunday, May 30, 2010 2:44:26 AM

I have a stable job and I suck at marketing. awww.
Had this opportunity (the internship) come up at a different point in my life, I'd have given it a go at least. p.

KarenNerak Sunday, May 30, 2010 2:46:47 AM

I was wondering how long it'd be 'til someone pointed that out. It's not technically a Pot Roast. It's just a roast, I guess. I'm just accustomed to calling that particular type of dish a Pot Roast.

I would normally make it in a pot on the stove top, but I didn't have the time required to slowly cook it, so that's why I put it in the oven for a couple hours instead. Worked out wonderfully well! yes

Dacotah Sunday, May 30, 2010 3:36:11 AM

I tried drinking cranberry juice and hated it. I should try the supplements.

How did your supper turn out? Sounds really good. I love pot roast, broccoli & biscuits.

L2D2 Sunday, May 30, 2010 5:48:37 AM

I love pot roast cooked on top of the stove with onions, potatoes and carrots cooked in the same pan. Then make brown gravy with the juice. One vegetable added, or none, is all I need for a great meal. I don't think I have cooked a roast in the oven more than 3 times.

KarenNerak Sunday, May 30, 2010 6:04:51 AM

I put the onions, potatoes, & carrots in there with it. This was the first I'm that I've cooked a roast in the oven, myself. It turned out much better than I thought it was going to. It was actually really good.

I still miss my crock pot, though. There's nothing quite like it. bigsmile

L2D2 Sunday, May 30, 2010 6:09:24 AM

I don't like my crockpot---slow cooks too slow and high cooks too fast so that I don't trust anything to cook overnight. I don't quite trust the things.

KarenNerak Sunday, May 30, 2010 6:15:47 AM

I've never set one up to cook and left it. I guess I don't trust them, either. I have to be there to check up on it. bigsmile

L2D2 Sunday, May 30, 2010 6:18:14 AM

Great minds think alike. I could never go off and leave mine cooking for fear it would boil dry and start a fire and burn my house down! http://files.myopera.com/Tamil/Smilies/ROFL.gif - I didn't think anyone else felt that way.

KarenNerak Sunday, May 30, 2010 6:22:09 AM

Oh, yeah. I totally feel that way! bigsmile Same with the clothes dryer. I don't like to leave the house when it's running. I keep my toaster unplugged, too. There are lots of little quirks I've got that have to do with making sure the place doesn't burn down. lol

Dacotah Sunday, May 30, 2010 12:46:46 PM

KarenNerak Sunday, May 30, 2010 1:49:54 PM

Mad Scientistqlue Sunday, May 30, 2010 2:14:17 PM

Well, it's an oven roast then. happy.

Dacotah Sunday, May 30, 2010 10:01:02 PM

Cherry coke for me. bigsmile

KarenNerak Monday, May 31, 2010 6:16:10 AM

Yay! Thank you, Carol. bigsmile :guzzle:

Yes, that's what it is, Aadil! bigsmile I don't need a stinkin' pot!
