Friends Only Entry

, ,

Yes, that's right. I'm writing this blog entry to let you know that I've written a Top Secret Blog Entry! If you're not on my friend list, you can't see it...so there. p:

:left: That'll teach you to not have me on your list!

EDIT: I just added a video to the stealthy blog entry! :ninja::coffee:

Let's Go On A Tour of The Apartment, Shall We?

, ,

I finally got around to taking some pictures! They're by no means perfect, but they'll have to do for now. As you look through them, please keep in mind that we haven't lived here very long yet, so that's why there are no pictures on the walls yet...and why it's not incredibly organized yet. The stomach flu set me back a little, so now I have to make up for lost time.

I'll make sure to post more pictures once we're 100% settled in, organized, and decorated!

As for now, though, let's just go for a tour and not worry about organizing & decorating, shall we? (You can right-click on almost all of these pictures and click "View Image" to view it full sized!)

Here is a picture of the outside of our building.
We're in the very top left.
(The one hidden by the tree. Homer: Doh! )

Here's a picture so you can see what the garages look like.
(They normally cost an additional $60/mo.,
but the manager liked us so much that she threw it in for free! :eyes: )

This is a picture of the keypad for the alarm system.
Each apartment gets its own alarm system.

Welcome to the living room! :D

Lonnie's desk is so freakin' monsterous that we had no choice but to put our dining room table & chairs in storage so his desk could take up the dining area. It sucks to be without the table, but oh well. Gotta do what'cha gotta do! :D

Behind Lonnie's desk is a sliding glass door.
It leads onto one of the balconies...
(Those are some of the tomatoes we rescued from our garden at the old house.)

When I first saw the kitchen, I was worried that we'd not be able to fit all of our stuff in it...and also worried that it'd be overly cramped. I worried for nothing. This kitchen may have fewer square feet than the last one, but it has more drawers & cupboards...and is laid out to be much more user friendly and efficient. :D

Here's a big pantry located in the kitchen...

...and one more view of the kitchen.

The apartment came with a washer and dryer,
so we're going to sell our high efficiency set!
Here's what the machines in the apartment look like...

Here's a shot of the main bathroom...

Here's my daughter's room...
...with my kitty, Araya, in the window.

We're still in Sunny's room...I want to show you the closet doors.
All of the bedroom closet doors in the apartment are mirrored just like this:

This is the last one in my daughter's room. I wanted to show everyone what my son got for my daughter, though! He was taking the trash out when he stumbled upon the framed picture of a couple puppies. He knew his sister would love it, so he brought it in & gave it to her. He was right...she adores it! :o:

Okay, now here's a picture of our master bathroom. It's got weird angles in there, so it's hard to take a picture of. As you can see, though, it has a sink/counter/cupboards...and it also has a shower straight back there. I couldn't fit it in, but if you round the little corner to the left, that's where you'd find the toilet. It's kinda got it's own little area...I like that a lot.

This is the view from the master bathroom...

Lonnie & I have a sliding glass door in our bedroom.
It leads out to the second balcony...

That's all for inside of the apartment for right now. Like I said - it's still kind of a mess, so I didn't want to take anymore pictures of our mess. I promise to post more pics & even a video once I've finally gotten the apartment completely organized & decorated.

Now let's go outside so I can show you the amenities and whatnot!

There are a few designated car washing spots throughout the property. I think it's totally awesome! Too bad our car got repo'd, or I'd have a reason to use 'em.

They disguise the ugly garbage dumpsters
by putting them inside of little fenced off areas like this one.
(There's a dumpster in there as well as big recycling bins)

Here are the mailboxes! :D

Here's the tennis court!

Here's the lovely pool area. :o:

The building in this picture is what the managers call the "Clubhouse". The managers and handy men drive around the complex in those little golf carts. They're just too cute!

This picture doesn't do the place justice,
but here's a shot of the inside of the clubhouse.
We're allowed 24/7 access to the place if we want it.
They said we can throw birthday parties in there,
have clients over to talk business...
...basically use it as a place to meet up if we need one.

They've got a little atrium thingy in the clubhouse.
It's really cool. It has a little pond with Koi fishies swimming in it. :D

Here's kind of a crappy shot of the fitness room.
It's got two treadmills, a weight machine thingy, an exercise bike,
and a TV which is hooked up with satellite TV.

Here is the infamous tanning bed!
I have spent a lot of naked time in that thing!

Hooray for the hot tub!
It's in the clubhouse, too, so we can use it 24/7.

Lastly, here is the sauna.
I've gone in there a couple times so far...I love it!!!

Sooooooo, there you have it! I'm really sorry it took me so long. I hope it was worth the wait! Like I said; I will post updated pictures and also a video once I've had the chance to organize & decorate. :coffee:

Random Randomness In The Midst of Packing

, , ,

I'm taking a break from house hunting. I'm so tired of looking at houses. Blah!

This probably won't be a very long edition of Random Randomness. Lonnie and I are going to be driving to Vancouver in a little while to scope out a house we found online and called about. We have an appointment to look at it tomorrow night at 7:10, but we want to see the outside of it first. Judging from the picture, it's not too shabby. I hope we like it and everything works out well just so we can stop this whole hunting thing. It's such a pain in the ass!

Just in case you don't already know, we didn't get that other house we had our eyes on because of our crappy credit. :irked: I'm so pissed off about all of those medical bills. I cannot wait to get our settlement.

I had gone on a liquid diet for two weeks. I lost 7 lbs. all together. I didn't actually go on it so I could lose weight - that was just an added bonus. I'm starting to eat solid food again. Oddly, I feel much more energetic and lively when I take in nothing but liquids. You'd think it'd be the other way around, but I guess I'm just backwards.
My cat is in heat again. As soon as we get settled in our new house (where ever that will be), we're going to take both of the cats in to get 'em fixed. Enough of this incessant meowing and humping stuff! :eyes:

I am using a new hair conditioner lately. Not only does it smell wonderful, but it makes my hair so much more shiny and soft! It was shiny and soft before, but now it's SUPER shiny and soft. Yay!

My son is in the living room reading "The Catcher In The Rye" by choice. :eyes: I walked out there, saw him sitting on the couch reading, and nearly fainted! I mean, I know he likes to read, but "The Catcher In The Rye"?? By choice?! That's so awesome! *proud*

I've never read "The Catcher In The Rye". I was never even required to read it in school. The only book I remember being forced to read was "To Kill A Mockingbird". I don't remember what it was about. I seriously doubt I even read it. I probably bought the Cliff's Notes instead. That's how I rolled. :D

I'm pretty upset to hear of George Carlin's death. Damned shame. rip At least I got to see his act once in my life. He was pretty funny...although the moronic audience I was in booed him. He told a joke about rape, and everyone went all nutso and started booing. It's a joke, people. GOSH! I realize rape is not a joking matter, but honestly, the joke wasn't that offensive. I wish I could remember the exact wording he used.

I've not been sleeping very well lately. I sleep a full 6 hours, but it's really shallow sleep. I need to get back to the whole R.E.M. sleep. I'm guessing it has to do with the added stress as of late. I am thinking that once we get moved and settled into our new house, I'll go back to my usual way of sleeping...basically a coma.

Well, I gotta go get ready to head to Vancouver to check that house out. I hope everyone's doing well and has a lovely day.

Lookie What I Made!

,

I had a few spare moments, so I made this...

Isn't that the most adorable thing ever?! :o:

Just so everyone knows - I have to do real work today, so I won't be on here for most, if not all of the day. Don't go taking it personally if I'm not responding to messages/comments/IMs, okay? I just have a full plate and I gotta work it away.

Hooray For Random Randomness!

, ,

Today has been pretty decent so far. The schools were delayed by two hours again today due to icy roads. I found out that the reason they freak out so much about snow & ice around here is because a lot of the kids are bussed in from the surrounding area where there are steep and winding roads. That's why they delay school by two hours on days like today when it's icy. That makes sense...and now I feel like an asshole for bitching about it previously.

I'm going to be cooking a whole chicken for dinner tonight. I've cooked one before & it was actually really good. I want to do something different this time, though. I'm thinking of breaking out the ol' crock pot and cooking it that way. I need to look through recipes and find one I like.

As you can see, I loves me some Mario. I've been thinking about changing my blog theme to Mario lately. That'll probably be the look I go for next.

I haven't been taking many pictures lately. *sigh* I really miss it. I've been too busy doing other stuff. I need to start making time for photography. It's something I really love doing and I miss it quite a bit. Maybe I'll take the camera with me when I go for a walk later.

I watched Dr. Phil yesterday afternoon. Although he tends to annoy me, his show yesterday was very interesting. He had a teenaged boy and his parents on. That poor kid! My heart sank to my stomach while watching the show. His Mom is flippin' insane! They had placed a camera in their home so that it'd record the daily goings on. I could not believe the way that woman talked to her child. She called him foul names and completely degraded him. Then she turns around and wonders why the kid's not treating her with respect. Some people should NEVER be allowed to have kids. :frown: Sooo sad!

I forgot to call my Dad AGAIN yesterday. I would do it right now, but I just don't feel like it. That sounds rude, but I don't mean it in a rude way. It's just that I don't feel like gabbing on the phone for an hour at this time. I'm not much of a phone person, so I have to be in the mood for it.

Fred Meyer has an eliptical machine for $150. I want it SO badly. I love those things. It's my favorite way to exercise. I know that the one for only $150 can't be too great, but it'd be nice to have 'til I can afford a decent one. Sadly, I can't even afford the $150 one yet! I'm thinking about putting it on lay-away and then making payments on it. That way I know I'll not miss the good deal, but will be able to pay it as I can afford to instead of having to rush to figure out a way to get it.

Off to get another coffee refill I go!.... Okay - I'm back with a fresh cup of coffee now. Mmmm...it's so good today. Speaking of which, I decided to live on the edge and try another new flavor of creamer. I bought a jug of Cremé Brulée the other day. It's actually pretty good. Now I am alternating between that and Hazelnut. I ended up throwing that Gingerbread crap away. Nobody liked it at all. :yuck: It was disgusting!

I want a pair of pink & white soccer socks so badly! Actually, I would like to have lots of other colors, too, but I REALLY want pink ones. I think they're so cute! I've seen a couple of Hef's girlfriends wearing them before, and I have wanted some ever since. I can't seem to find them at any stores around here, so I might have to order them off of the Net.

Being the neat freak I am, I was thrilled when I came across a site devoted to cleaning tips! I am going to have to try one of the tips for carpet cleaning. There's one little spot that's been driving me nuts!

I'm drinking a glass of water now.

I just had to deal with a really moody customer on the phone. :frown: Why do some people feel the need to be such asses? I can't even imagine being that rude to someone. I mean really. It'd be one thing if I did something to warrant such dickheadedness, but I didn't. I had nothing to do with the situation. *sigh* Oh well...I'm not going to let someone ruin my day. As a matter of fact, I'm going to go do some stuff in the kitchen now...

Betty Crocker Is A Slacker

, , , ...

I've been super busy so far today. I have baked a chocolate cake (still needs to be frosted), and Angel Food Cake, and an assload of cookies. Of course, I took pictures...

Here's the Chocolate Cake...

...and the Angel Food Cake...

Now on to the cookies!

Here's the first plate...

...plate number two (The big O is for Opera!)...

Plate number three is next...

Plate number four is just too cute. It's all little footsies! Yay!

Here's the last plate of cookies...

Since I promised Siran that I would make him and his twin sister cookies, here they are...

Lastly, I made the Ghost of Christmas Past!...

I'm sure that my kids and Lonnie will totally enjoy eating all this crap! I'll stick with my salad!

Once again, Happy Holidays everyone!

Oopsie Daisy!

, , , ...

I'm sure most of you noticed that I was gone for three days. You might not have realized how long I was gone, but I can imagine that some of you knew I was M.I.A. Here's the story:

Being the compulsive neat-freak I am, I decided I was going to clean up my computer and delete a bunch of files I never use or don't need. Everything was going along just fine. I had moved everything that wasn't a program file to my H drive. Well, in the process of doing all of this, I thought I had moved my picture folder to the H drive as well. I deleted the original folder - thinking I had copied it to the other drive.

I was wrong.

I lost about 15,000 pictures...give or take a few thousand. :eyes: I totally panicked! I have a lot of them backed up to DVDs, but I haven't done a decent back-up since before we moved to Oregon! :yikes: All the pictures and video of my Dad's visit were gone...etc.

Well, Lonnie ended up having to run some file recovery software on my computer. I wasn't able to touch my computer until it was finished. Three days later, here I am! It took three days to get about 75% of my pictures back. The other 25% are history, but oh well! I'd much rather have 75% of them than none of them! And yes - I got a lot of my Dad in there, so whew!!!

So there you have it. I'm not dead, nor is anyone else. I just pulled the biggest blonde moment of my life! DUH!

I'm Finally Pulling My Head Out!
