Walking With Lonnie & Karen

, ,

Lonnie and I went for a walk the other day. It happened to be sunny on that day…hooray! We picked the perfect day for a walk, because ever since that day, it's been gloomy and raining nearly constantly.

As always, I brought my camera with me on the walk. You never know when you'll see something picture worthy…although pretty much everything is picture worthy in my opinion. :D So, anyway…let's look through the pictures, shall we? …

Before we even left our complex, I found things to take pictures of. For example, in the picture you're about to look at, you'll see a little valley type of thing. It's actually a pretty cool place. The people who built the apartments & the grounds, created this rocky valley type thing in order for the massive amounts of rain we get to have a place to collect that's away from the buildings. When it rains really hard, it fills up and that's when the frogs come out to play! Here's the area I'm talking about...

On our way through the grounds of our complex,
I took a picture of one of my favorite trees in the area.
It's a Weeping Willow:

We were almost out of the complex and on our way to start speed-walking when I happened to see a guy wearing a really gay looking hat. There's no way in hell I could resist taking his picture…

If you look closely, you'll see an old lady looking right at me. Right after I snapped the picture, she announced to the guy, "You just got your picture taken!" and the guy spun around and looked right at me. I looked back at him like, "What? I'm far too innocent to do something like that!" :o:

We finally made it out of the complex and headed down a nearby street.
It's a pretty new street with brand spankin' new condos on it.
We continued to walk down the street until we saw an Open House sign.

Since both of us are very curious people (nosy), we stopped to see if the door was unlocked. It wasn't…of course.

Anyway, while we were walking around the condo, we both noticed a horrific wiring job! We stood there absolutely stunned that someone would have done something so amateurish. Here's a picture of what I mean…look at how the cable is so blatantly obvious because of how the jackasses ran the stupid thing!...

Well, after standing there in awe over the shoddy workmanship, I decided to go look in the windows of the condo to see what it was like in there. Needless to say, I wasn't very impressed at all. The picture sucks since it was taken while looking through a window, but here's a shot of the kitchen…

See? Nothing too special at all, huh? And they want around $300,000 for those condos, too! :eyes: They're clearly asking way too much for them…especially with the economy the way it is right now.

Anyway, Lonnie and I kept walking until we got to the end of the street. We've always had a knack for picking dead-end streets. There wasn't a Dead End sign anywhere or anything!

At the very end of the long street is a guard rail thing.
Upon closer inspection, I noticed a bench in the most odd place.
At least, I think it's an odd place…

Lonnie just couldn't resist putting his cute little tushie
on that stupid bench! He just had to sit on it…

Next, we stumbled upon a gazebo! :left: It's so weird to me to have a gazebo in the middle of nowhere. I mean, what's the point? :right: It's surrounded by a big field. *shrug* Meh, whatever…I made Lonnie go in the stupid thing so I could get a picture…

After we were done in the gazebo, we decided to keep walking. Instead of going back up the street we'd just walked down, we chose to go through the field behind the condos…but first, we needed to take a picture of ourselves! :D

After we finished with that, we continued to walk through the tall weeds. Thank goodness I was wearing jeans and not shorts or a skirt! I cannot stand the feeling of weeds and tall grass rubbing against my legs.

I'm not exactly sure why I did it,
but I took a picture of said weeds…

Lonnie and I continued to walk through the field…and then I spotted some color out of the corner of my eye. I turned my head to look at what it was and saw that there were berries growing in the field…

Both of us happened to notice a dark spot on the ground in front of us, so we walked over to it to see what the heck it was. It turned out to be oil or something like that. Someone must've dumped their used oil in the field! How freakin' rude…

We finally made our way out of the field. We ended up by a power station thing. I took pictures of it, but they're all lame. Besides, once you've seen one power station, you've seen them all. Use your imagination! p:

After a while longer of walking, my knee was really starting to bother me, so we decided to head back home. We spotted a tree on the way home that had some white sappy crap on it. Of course, being the massive pervs that Lonnie & I are, we both stood there and cracked jokes about what the sap really looked like for a while…

See what I mean? How could we not crack jokes about that?! It clearly looks like the tree got a little bit too excited to see us!

After laughing our asses off for a few minutes, we headed back to our building. The only reason I'm even posting the next picture is just so I can show you the badass tree in the front of the building. I'm not sure why, but I LOVE that tree. They way they trim it and everything just makes it look so cute to me! :D

That pretty much sums it up. I realize that this wasn't the most thrilling blog entry ever, but what the hell. I didn't want these pictures to just sit on my harddrive and never be seen again.

Blue Beanie Day Is Coming!

, , ,

The third annual Blue Beanie Day will be celebrated on Monday, November 30th, 2009

Thousands of Standardistas (people who support web standards) will wear a Blue Beanie to show their support for accessible, semantic web content.

It’s easy to show your support for web design done right. Beg, borrow, or buy a Blue Beanie and snap a photo of your mug wearing the blue. :D (Or get creative with Photoshop). Then, on November 30, switch your profile picture on My.Opera, Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, (and any other social network) and post your photo to the Blue Beanie Day group
!

Could it possibly get any easier? Ummm, no! DO IT!!! :headbang:

Let's Go On A Tour of The Apartment, Shall We?

, ,

I finally got around to taking some pictures! They're by no means perfect, but they'll have to do for now. As you look through them, please keep in mind that we haven't lived here very long yet, so that's why there are no pictures on the walls yet...and why it's not incredibly organized yet. The stomach flu set me back a little, so now I have to make up for lost time.

I'll make sure to post more pictures once we're 100% settled in, organized, and decorated!

As for now, though, let's just go for a tour and not worry about organizing & decorating, shall we? (You can right-click on almost all of these pictures and click "View Image" to view it full sized!)

Here is a picture of the outside of our building.
We're in the very top left.
(The one hidden by the tree. Homer: Doh! )

Here's a picture so you can see what the garages look like.
(They normally cost an additional $60/mo.,
but the manager liked us so much that she threw it in for free! :eyes: )

This is a picture of the keypad for the alarm system.
Each apartment gets its own alarm system.

Welcome to the living room! :D

Lonnie's desk is so freakin' monsterous that we had no choice but to put our dining room table & chairs in storage so his desk could take up the dining area. It sucks to be without the table, but oh well. Gotta do what'cha gotta do! :D

Behind Lonnie's desk is a sliding glass door.
It leads onto one of the balconies...
(Those are some of the tomatoes we rescued from our garden at the old house.)

When I first saw the kitchen, I was worried that we'd not be able to fit all of our stuff in it...and also worried that it'd be overly cramped. I worried for nothing. This kitchen may have fewer square feet than the last one, but it has more drawers & cupboards...and is laid out to be much more user friendly and efficient. :D

Here's a big pantry located in the kitchen...

...and one more view of the kitchen.

The apartment came with a washer and dryer,
so we're going to sell our high efficiency set!
Here's what the machines in the apartment look like...

Here's a shot of the main bathroom...

Here's my daughter's room...
...with my kitty, Araya, in the window.

We're still in Sunny's room...I want to show you the closet doors.
All of the bedroom closet doors in the apartment are mirrored just like this:

This is the last one in my daughter's room. I wanted to show everyone what my son got for my daughter, though! He was taking the trash out when he stumbled upon the framed picture of a couple puppies. He knew his sister would love it, so he brought it in & gave it to her. He was right...she adores it! :o:

Okay, now here's a picture of our master bathroom. It's got weird angles in there, so it's hard to take a picture of. As you can see, though, it has a sink/counter/cupboards...and it also has a shower straight back there. I couldn't fit it in, but if you round the little corner to the left, that's where you'd find the toilet. It's kinda got it's own little area...I like that a lot.

This is the view from the master bathroom...

Lonnie & I have a sliding glass door in our bedroom.
It leads out to the second balcony...

That's all for inside of the apartment for right now. Like I said - it's still kind of a mess, so I didn't want to take anymore pictures of our mess. I promise to post more pics & even a video once I've finally gotten the apartment completely organized & decorated.

Now let's go outside so I can show you the amenities and whatnot!

There are a few designated car washing spots throughout the property. I think it's totally awesome! Too bad our car got repo'd, or I'd have a reason to use 'em.

They disguise the ugly garbage dumpsters
by putting them inside of little fenced off areas like this one.
(There's a dumpster in there as well as big recycling bins)

Here are the mailboxes! :D

Here's the tennis court!

Here's the lovely pool area. :o:

The building in this picture is what the managers call the "Clubhouse". The managers and handy men drive around the complex in those little golf carts. They're just too cute!

This picture doesn't do the place justice,
but here's a shot of the inside of the clubhouse.
We're allowed 24/7 access to the place if we want it.
They said we can throw birthday parties in there,
have clients over to talk business...
...basically use it as a place to meet up if we need one.

They've got a little atrium thingy in the clubhouse.
It's really cool. It has a little pond with Koi fishies swimming in it. :D

Here's kind of a crappy shot of the fitness room.
It's got two treadmills, a weight machine thingy, an exercise bike,
and a TV which is hooked up with satellite TV.

Here is the infamous tanning bed!
I have spent a lot of naked time in that thing!

Hooray for the hot tub!
It's in the clubhouse, too, so we can use it 24/7.

Lastly, here is the sauna.
I've gone in there a couple times so far...I love it!!!

Sooooooo, there you have it! I'm really sorry it took me so long. I hope it was worth the wait! Like I said; I will post updated pictures and also a video once I've had the chance to organize & decorate. :coffee:

The 4AM Project

,

While looking through all sorts of interesting things on the Net like I often do, I came across something that I think is a really neat idea. It's also an idea that we can ALL partake in. Well…those of us with working cameras, anyway.

The project is called the 4AM Project.
The aim of the 4amproject is to gather a collection of photos from around the world at the magical time of 4am. Everyone can take part and join in! All you need is a camera. We want to see what you see at that moment in time on that one day. What’s your view at 4am?

How To Get Involved
1. Go to www.flickr.com and sign up for an account
Upload your photos and tag them with the word 4amproject.

2. You can even send in images direct from your mobile. Find out how.

I'm certainly going to be joining in on this one.
It sounds like a lot of fun and a really interesting thing to do!
:D

Mario: Caught On Camera

, , ,

I'm a little late in posting these, but I thought you guys might like to see the pictures I got on Halloween night. As you may or may not know, Lonnie and I went to a Karaoke bar to watch people make jackasses of themselves. We don't drink...just went to laugh.

Well, I got more than I bargained for! :eyes:
Mario was busted doing some dirty dancing with some Army chick!
(Keep in mind that it was really dark in the bar,
so these pictures are going to suck.)

BTW - I was a nun AGAIN. I really hated being a nun for the third year in a row...but we couldn't afford the costume I really wanted, so I made due. Lonnie was a priest again, too. As usual, we were both 100% naked under our costumes...well, wait. I had fishnets and whore shoes on and he had socks & shoes on...but other than that we were naked. We get a kick out of it for some reason. Here I am being a possessed nun...again...

After we went to the karaoke bar, we went to Denny's and had some coffee. That's a pretty usual date for us...we're broke and Denny's coffee is cheap. So there we sat in Denny's...drinking our overly charred coffee while being total kids taking pictures of each other under the table. He'd lift his costume up and I would take pictures of his goodies....then he'd take pictures of mine. It was pretty hilarious, really. We'd just be sitting there and then FLASH!!!! A big flash of light from the camera would go off under the table. People had to know what we were doing...did we care? Not in the least bit.

Here's my handsome priest doing his best to look around as if to say,
"Where did that big flash of light come from? WTF?!"

New Photo Album

, ,

I just posted a new photo album full of pictures from when my son and I went to the cemetery earlier. It was good fun...lots of neato stones to be seen, and the weather was nearly perfect.

Here's a sampling...

I couldn't resist the urge to grab the stone bewb!

Anyway, the album is located here. Enjoy!
:D

Too Close For Comfort!

,

Holy crap! We almost rear-ended Satan in his Saturn! :yikes:

I knew I didn't like Saturns for a reason...
...now I know what the reason is.

When you hear the cliché that goes,
"To Hell in a hand basket"...
...well, what they really mean is,
"To Hell in a Saturn from Washington!" :yikes:

The Infamous Roach Motel: Revealed :gag:

, ,

I was just going through a bunch of pictures that I'd taken over two weeks ago when I saw a picture of the roach infested house. I honestly cannot even look at the picture without shuddering. It looks all unsuspecting and nice from the outside...but we all know what secret is crawling around inside!

If you're in the Vancouver, Washington area
and are looking for a rental house,
steer clear of one that looks like this:

(Unless, of course, you adore hoards of roaches crawling all over and in your junk. :gag again: )

I Added A New Album

I finally got around to adding an album devoted to Our Trip To The Fish Hatchery.
Took me long enough, but I finally did it!

Here's one of the pictures from said album...

We had SO much fun! :D
