Opera Blog With BloGTK

Linux users can use the BloGTK, a Python application, for fast and easy blogging.

1)  Download BloGTK and install it (read the README file for more information).

2) Open BloGTK and create a new Blog Account.

3) For Blogging System select “Metaweblog API” and for Server URL add your home page URL with a “/api/” at the end (e.g.: ""http://my.opera.com/NikolaosX1/blog/api/"")

4) Add your Username (e.g.: NikolaosX1) and your password. Press “Save” to save your new Blog profile.

Screenshot2 5) If your posts are for public viewing, go to "Other Options" tab and check the "Publish by Default?" option. Otherwise your posts will be for private viewing only by default.

6) Is also a good idea to enable the use of UTF-8 character set especially when you blogging in a language different from English.
Finally press “OK” to go to editor’s main window.
Screenshot3 7) To start managing your Opera blog go to “File/Connect” and BloGTK will contact with Opera server, fetching information about your blog.

Opera Blogging Using Windows Live Writer

In order to use Windows Live Writer to edit and manage your Opera blog do the following:

1) Download and install  Windows Live Writer.

2) Open Windows Live Writer and create a new Blog Account by selecting: “Other Blog Service”

3) Add the home page URL (e.g.: "http://my.opera.com/NikolaosX1/blog"),your UserName (e.g.: NikolaosX1) and finally your password.

4) For Weblog type select “Metaweblog API” and for Remote Posting URL add your home page URL with a “/api/” at the end (e.g.: ""http://my.opera.com/NikolaosX1/blog/api/"")
