No access announcement
Some new features have been added to the No Access website!
There is now a friend code exchange system on the Surprises! page (soon to be "More"). Just click the Exchange button, then fill in your name and/or game and/or system, then your friend code.
One other thing that is about halfway done is the free email address. As you will see there are a couple of form boxes, but those are useless at the moment, so look forward and keep checking back, for I hope to get that done in the next month.

No Access wii url shorter
Okay, so it's nobodies birthday, but something extra-unordinary has happened! Now, if you would like to visit the No Access website, all you have to type in is short.vc/na! Also, to get to the Opera No Access faster, you can just type short.vc/nao!
A good way to remember the first one is just think No Access, then put short.vc/*NA* (without the stars)! A way to remember the second on is think No Access Opera and put nao at the end of short.vc/!
If you would like one of these for your website, group, or profile, just contact me (note that you should only want one if your url is kinda long).
Good luck and happy gaming!

Nintendo Wii releases week august 27
There are plenty of games to choose from on the Wii this week (even one that was supposed to release last week), but there's only one that we here at No Access care about. Yup, that's none other than Metroid Prime 3.
This week's releases include:
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Brunswick Pro Bowling
Carnival Games
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08
So, how do you plan on getting your game on? Did you take off work or ditch any other responsibilities for the releases of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption? Hey, don't act like you didn't think about it!

Wii overtakes xbox 360 nintendo
Yesterday is being marked as the official day that the Wii overtook the Xbox 360 in total console sales. As you've heard, the console is still losing in the U.S. market, however due to its popularity in Japan, was able to edge out the Xbox 360 and claim the top spot. With the console releasing last November, its continued shortages only make this feat that much more impressive. (Wii, 10.57m, 360, 10.51m, and PS3 at 4.32m.)

The first game for the Wii’s upcoming Wii Software service has been announced, and apparently it’s all about twist and paint.
PLATTCHEN is the name of the first game for the Wii-Ware and BPlus is developing the game. From the Wii UK story, it appears that although no developers have officially been announced, BPlus is taking credit for this title and moving forward.
The “twist and paint” is going to focus on a first-person shooter type of game using the Wii controls to its advantage. Really, anything that uses the Wii’s controls as a FPS is a good idea, because it quite possibly works better than the keyboard/mouse combo on a PC. Although, some of you will argue differently.

As the Mac OS started gaining popularity, it also started to become a larger target for viruses. Now it seems that next gen consoles which have evolved enough to support online gaming and browsing might also attract unwanted attention from malicious programmers.
Symantec, the company behind the Norton AntiVirus Series, has recently discovered that the Nintendo Wii and the Sony PlayStation 3 are vulnerable to viruses and phishing attacks. Ollie Whitehouse, software architect for Symantec, explained to Tech.co.uk that they found the vulnerability by subjecting the Wii to a vulnerability found on Windows and Macs using Adobe Flash Player.
Their point was that if one platform is vulnerable, the same vulnerability will be found "to some extent" on other platforms, even consoles. Now that the consoles freely access the Internet, they are susceptible to web related problems such as viruses and phishing attacks.
Symantec pointed out that the Nintendo Wii has no protection from such malicious attacks. Whitehouse explains further: "In terms of how bad it could get, it's conceivable at least in the short term that phishing attacks could become commonplace via a games console browser. The Wii lends itself very well to that."
He also predicts that malicious code would appear within the next two years, and probably be a commonplace problem within five years. He also explains how Microsoft's Xbox 360 is likely to be more protected than the PS3 and the Wii because of security measures implemented in all games and software for the console.

As previously reported, the Wii name was painted on the hood of a Ford Fusion for NASCAR's #16 Cup driver, Greg Biffle. Roush Racing graciously provided the Wii-marked advertising vessel with a driver to bring it up front. A valid concern when we first learned of this was, "Even if Biffle makes the race with Nintendo's sponsorship, are we guaranteed to see it anywhere near the head of the pack?"
As a NASCAR fan (but perhaps not a Wii fan) would know, the sponsors who benefit the most from raceday display are the ones whose drivers place the best. Had the Wii car crashed, wrecked, or burst into flame on Sunday, the gains made by Nintendo's marketing strategy would likely have been unfavorable. This is why sponsors hope to sign the most skilled driver available to keep their product or franchise up front.
Well, Biffle was a darn good choice. He managed to place tenth on Sunday, putting Wii right where everyone could see.
