The Wonders Of Britains Breath Taking Wildlife... Revealed.

The Shrew- Close Up

Now that my hands have warmed up abit I will do my best to tell you more...
This morning I was walking up the garden when I saw the smallest Shrew ever... It had, upon closer inspection, a complex of tunnels in the grass, I got with in touching distance of this lil Shrew. Then, the wind direction let me down.
I tought that it was a tunnel system, and this Shrew would nener be seen again, how very wrong I was.
I came back to that spot 30 secs later and the Shrew was back! -Eating some of my Dads old bird seed!
Well, its been there all Day, I have watched it for along time and I think it lives there, but the only thing is, is that this 'tunnel' system is in the border of our garden, not too under cover and the Cat might get lil Shrew.
I can't believe how close I have got, and whats more is I am seeing less and less of this Shrews backside dissapearing into the undergrowth, blink and you will miss any movement.
It amazes me, you would have never guessed...
