Paysage D'Hiver, Black Metal, Reissue

Thanks to Jure for pointing out that the next two Paysage d'Hiver digipak releases are out on
Kunsthall. This time it's Kerker and Kristall & Isa. Available from
Blackscaped and
Grau, and probably other distros.

Reissue, Vinyl, Nifelheim, Black Metal
Nuclear War Now is set to rerelease a couple of Nifelheim albums.
I bought the rights for these albums directly from Necropolis. The first two classic black metal albums will be reissued under the banner of Nuclear War Now! Productions. I’m currently waiting for the band to send me more layout material.
By the way, I got to see Nifelheim live this summer, very pleasant experience.

Vinyl, New Release, Reissue, Leviathan

It seems May is the month when we'll get to hear the new Leviathan album, at least judging from the date stated in
Displeased's preorder entry for the album.
This might very well be the final album from Leviathan, as rumours have it that Wrest is dissolving Leviathan (hehe) to concentrate on Lurker of Chalice. The Nachtmystium split and one more split will be released before that happens, though. A real bummer if this turns out to be true. Thanks to
Jay for the above Leviathan news.
Southern Lord made a second pressing of the "The Blind Wound" EP, this time on silver coloured vinyl. The new freebie/promo CD compilation from Southern Lord, "V/A - Within The Church of Thee Overlords", features Leviathan's cover of the Black Flag classic "My War". The recording is probably taken from the "The Tenth Sublevel of Suicide" demo.

Paysage D'Hiver, Vinyl, Reissue

The second in the series of Paysage D'Hiver A5 CD reissues, "Die Festung" is finally available from
Aurora Infernalis. Next planned release is the self titled album, expected to be out June 4th 2007.
A double LP version of "Paysage D'Hiver" is planned to be released in the spring on
Miriquidi. Should be right about now then, but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Black Metal, Sunn, Vinyl, Reissue
...

Lots of little Striborg news... First off,
Displeased are reissuing
Nocturnal Emissions / Nyctophobia and
Spiritual Catharsis today. Both CDs were originally released in limitied editions on Sin Nanna's own label Finsternis, and have been repackaged. I haven't seen the result with my own eyes yet, but should be worth getting.

Further, the Xasthur/Striborg split 7" is finally available for preorder (when they will actually be delivered is not made clear) from
Autopsy Kitchen. As if the split single wasn't enough, you can even get a split T shirt with the purchase...
It's been a long time coming and finally Australia's most understated black metal project collaborates with the United States ever prolific Xasthur on an agonizing split of melancholy and anti-jovial piece of wax. This limited vinyl features 1 recording from each band each of which will be exclusive to this release. Limited to 1,000 copies of which 800 will be pressed on clear vinyl and 200 on grey vinyl. The grey vinyl version will be available through AKR mailorder only and sold with an exclusive grey T shirt made exclusively for this release. This is a pre-order and your copy will be shipped as soon as they are back from press. No exact date known, sorry. As with all of our vinyl releases at Autopsy Kitchen = NO RE-PRESS EVER!
The planned Striborg "Trepidation" Double LP on
Black Hate has been cancelled. According to Black Hate, Sin Nanna gave the rights to someone else.
Finally, I find myself on the wrong side of the planet, as Sin Nanna is appearing live with Sunn, Atilla and Oren Ambarchi in Australia on the 8th of May. See the poster at the top, or read more at the
Southern Lord blog.

Black Metal, Strid, Reissue, Kyrck

One of the lesser known gems of the Norwegian scene, Strid's End of Life demo from 1993, is seeing a rerelease through
Kyrck Productions.
About Strid we have also agreed a CD/LP deal with the band itself releasing for the first time officially the End of Life demo and the 7" plus 2 demos before they form Strid.

Black Metal, Stigma Diabolicum, Thorns, Vinyl
...

Not too much info on this one, but
Kyrck Productions are set to release old Thorns/Stigma Diabolicum demo material on vinyl in February 2007. Limited to 500 copies, apparently.

Black Metal, Lurker of Chalice, Total Holocaust, Reissue

Last year's debut Lurker of Chalice album will be reissued on
Total Holocaust next year. I asked Håkan at THR via email and he says:
That's correct. The re-issue will be done in early / mid 2007. I will keep the limitation number disclosed. Other then that, the layout is pretty much intact from the original release, it will be printed on a different paper stock though.
On the subject of Wrest... Blake from Battle Kommand/Nachtmystium posted the following about the upcoming Nachtmystium/Leviathan split on the
Southern Lord Forums (which have been down for a few days now):
We're hoping to see it out in April / May. Each band will be contributing originals and cover tracks. Nachtmystium covers Death in June and Goatsnake, Leviathan covers Today is the Day and Christian Death. Should be a strange record. new Leviathan material kills...

Reissue, Darkspace

The
Paysage D'Hiver demos are being reissued on CD by
Kunsthall and
Cold Dimensions, and now these A5 digipaks are starting to appear. First out is Schattengang (originally released in 1999), available now and limited to 500 copies. Release dates for the next two demo reissues have been set by Aurora Infernalis; "Die Festung" will be available December 4th 2006, and "Paysage d' Hiver" will be available January 6th 2007.
As
previously mentioned,Paysage D'Hiver releases are being reissued on LP by
Mirquidi.
And while on the subject of Paysage D'Hiver, Wintherr's "other" band
Darkspace is also seeing reissues. The two long gone Darkspace albums I & II are now available on
Avantgarde Music. Allegedly, this release is unlimited. Rumour has it that Darkspace are working on Darkspace III.
About time for all these releases, which have been sold for ridiculous prices lately.
The Paysage D'Hiver and Darkspace CD's all seem to be available from
Aurora Infernalis (who unfortunately only ship to Europe).
Norwegian readers can enjoy a quite good interview with Wintherr at
!Hissig.
